In the current moment, Jack instinctively believed that the reason Martina had spoken this way was because Benjamin wasn't willing! He shot a glaring look at Benjamin, his eyes burning with disapproval.
"You, young man, you're something else. You have such a good girlfriend right in front of you, and you're not willing to marry her? What kind of wife are you looking for?" Jack issued his ultimatum, "Let me make this clear: besides the lady here, nobody else is getting through our door. If you try, I'll kick you out as well!"
Simon and Nathan silently covered their ears, pretending not to hear; it was not the kind of thing they could hear.
Benjamin, feeling wronged and bitter, glanced at Jack, attempting to explain himself, "Grandfather, I haven't... I haven't been thinking about refusing or not getting married."
Martina instinctively clenched her fists, worried that if Benjamin continued, she might inadvertently make her feelings more obvious.
