Chapter 7: Twins

The next day, Charlotte accompanied Isabella to school. While Charlotte herself was not part of the top echelon, her credentials from abroad were more than enough to qualify her to enroll Isabella without any problems.

Once they arrived at the school, Charlotte ensured that Isabella was settled and accompanied her to meet her teachers. Isabella's excitement grew as she observed the other children around her. She knew this was an elite school, and her expectations for her fellow students were high. Summoning all her courage, she approached the first child she saw, reaching out and grabbing their arm.

"Hi, I'm Isabella," she introduced herself with confidence. "Do you like computers?"

Arthur, a quiet and reserved child, was taken aback by Isabella's directness. He shifted his gaze to the cute little girl standing before him. There was something in Isabella's eyes that intrigued him, and a feeling in his heart told him to befriend her. With a silent nod, he confirmed his interest in computers. After all, his father owned a multibillion-dollar tech company, so the topic of computers and programming piqued his interest as well.

A small smile formed on Isabella's face as she realized she had found a potential friend. "That's awesome! Maybe we can work on computer virus together someday," she suggested, her enthusiasm shining through.

Arthur nodded again, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. It was the beginning of a new friendship, one that had the potential to blossom and grow as they discovered shared interests and embarked on new adventures together.

As the school day progressed, Isabella and Arthur found themselves gravitating towards each other during breaks and group activities. They quickly discovered their shared passion for technology and computers, engaging in animated conversations about their favorite programs, games, and gadgets. Isabella took the lead in initiating topics, while Arthur listened attentively and added his thoughts when prompted.

Meanwhile, Charlotte, seeing Isabella making efforts to make friends, felt a sense of relief. She left Isabella in the capable hands of her teachers and headed to the lab to continue her research project. As a neurologist, she was always driven by a thirst for knowledge and the desire to make groundbreaking discoveries in her field. Engrossed in her research, she delved into the intricacies of the human brain, pushing the boundaries of scientific understanding. The lab became her sanctuary, a place where she could lose herself in her work and contribute to the advancement of neuroscience.

In the classroom, one of the observant teachers, Ms. Janille, noticed the striking resemblance between Isabella and Arthur. Their similar features, including their dark hair and striking blue eyes, made them look like they could be twins. However, dismissing the thought as mere coincidence, Ms. Janille attributed it to the fact that both children had different last names, Evans and Smith.

Throughout the day, Isabella and Arthur's friendship continued to grow stronger. They became inseparable during school hours, seeking solace and comfort in each other's company. Arthur, who had previously struggled to make friends due to his reserved nature, felt a sense of belonging with Isabella. She brought out his playful side and allowed him to be himself without judgment.

As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, Isabella and Arthur left the classroom together, talking animatedly about their plans for the upcoming weekend. They walked side by side, their steps in sync, as if they had been friends for years. Unbeknownst to them, their classmates observed their strong bond and wondered what made them so inseparable.

Meanwhile, as Charlotte continued her research in the lab, she was completely unaware of the deepening bond between her daughter and Arthur. She had decided to work late, organizing her team and taking charge of the current project. She asked a favor from Alice to pick up Isabella which Alice took no issue with.

"Ms. Evans, here is the current contract draft with the equipment supplier Perfin." her secretary handing a folder.

As she reviewed a contract draft with the equipment supplier, her eyes landed on a familiar name—Olivia Dangal. A bitter expression flashed across her face, hinting at unresolved feeling.
