Chapter 10: The Battle of Primordial Dragons

Ragnathor's and Greyskim's battle was put on hold after each of them tried regaining their strength by resting a bit. And it seems that the wyverns also used a bit of their power so often that they started breathing heavily.

As the sun went down and the moon rose, silence occurred as they kept on breathing heavily.

"What's the matter, Greyskim? It seems you're out of mana. Just surrender, and I'll spare your life." said Ragnathor, who still breathed heavily amidst all the arrogance he had shown.

"Shut up, Ragnathor. You're in the same state as me." Greyskim replied, glancing at his surroundings as the wyverns halted their attacks on him.

In spite of the arrogance that Ragnathor showed, he, who was approaching his limits, had a forced smile on his face. But deep down, he knew for himself that a battle against Greyskim would be overwhelming.

After a glimpse of silence occurred, Greyskim and Ragnathor began rushing towards each other. With their mana energies depleted, they were forced to use their raw strengths and face each other in a classic way.

Two dragons fighting like martial artists was an astonishing scene to witness. It looked very weird since their movements were a bit funny due to their dragon bodies. But with each punch they struck, an overwhelming impact was created. The sounds of their bodies getting hit with each punch they'd delivered were like mortars being fired.

It made me realize that their strength, even without using magic, was still unfathomable for me to handle.

With each strike they made, their bodies vibrated and made some metallic sounds, as if clusters of steel were being bombed.

Greyskim wore a drought-like expression as he fought against Ragnathor, who somehow looked lively.

Well, it was already considered since Greyskim showed up completely wounded before fighting Ragnathor and the wyverns.

But still, Greyskim's work is commendable. His perseverance is truly outstanding; holding up against a Primordial Dragon with severe wounds to begin with was an unbelievable feat to do.

But that made me think: Who did he fight before showing up here? Was it also a Primordial Dragon like Teranium and Ragnathor?" I wondered while watching their fight from afar.

Greyskim began evading Ragnathor's punches as their confrontation prolonged, messing up Ragnathor's attack patterns completely. He began feeling anxious as he could not hit Greyskim with each punch he tried to deliver.

Greyskim's movements became more agile and appropriate than the performance he had shown earlier, which was kind of a reckless way to fight.

A barbaric fighting style, should I say? Well, now that his fighting style changed, he began taking advantage, and as for Ragnathor, who was completely baffled by the sudden turns of their battle, he became more fierce and aggressive, unable to hit Greyskim, somehow damaged his pride.

But as time went on, Greyskim gained the upper hand and dealt a lot of punches to Ragnathor, who was somewhat distracted.

Just as Greyskim was about to strike his final punch, the wyverns began shooting solar blasts towards Greyskim, who was completely unaware of their interruption. The solar blasts that were cast together formed a large one and struck Greyskim from his back, making him falter a bit and fall downward, while Ragnathor smirked and delivered a downward punch to push Greyskim to fall.

After Greyskim got hit, he continuously fell, unable to fly above due to the pressure of Ragnathor's downward punch.

And as he was falling, another round of solar blasts were heading his way, while Ragnathor took his chance and released a dragon blast towards Greyskim, who was unable to regain his balance.

Both attacks from Ragnathor and the wyverns completely struck the undefended Greyskim down as he bashfully fell to the ninth island and caused a huge tremor that somehow escalated through the eighth island, even with the chained rocks being unconnected due to their change of levitation during nighttime.

"Haha! You have fallen; admit your loss, Greyskim!" Ragnathor said arrogantly, even with his body being wrecked to the point that his scales started deforming.

Teranium floated silently, observing everything from a certain distance, while the wyverns were heavily breathing. It seemed that they overused their mana energy and are now having difficulties flying.

"Well, if they were humans, I'm sure they would have fainted by now. But thanks to their superior genes as wyverns, I'm sure they could still hold themselves together even if they overused their mana." I mumbled, concluding the difference between them and me.

But still, just looking at them helplessly made me feel inferior. Back then, when I was still in the military, I never felt this small. Now that I'm in a different world, I should refrain myself from comparing both worlds since this world is much more of a hell than earth.

"Take your time, Greyskim. Haha! I'm sure you're out of breath by now! I commend you for your persistence in wanting to beat me, but in your dreams! Haha!" Ragnathor spouted nonsensical words despite the help from the wyverns he had gotten.

I'm sure if the wyverns had not interfered at that time, the outcome would have been different.

Just as the smoke dispersed, Greyskim was seen standing. Despite the damage he took, he was still able to fly back into the air and act like it didn't hurt.

"Such a monster." I mumbled, staring at Greyskim's dignified posture while he flew back in the sky and confronted Ragnathor.

"What nonsense are you spouting, Ragnathor? I would never lose to you, even if it costs me my life!" said Greyskim, who immediately engaged, attempting to fight Ragnathor in close combat.

Just as Greyskim planned, Ragnathor fell for it and also rushed towards Greyskim, aware that he did not stand a chance against him in a close combat fight.

Once again, the two began fighting in a more vulgar way, filled with overwhelming strength and determination to crush each other. Their battle was astonishing to witness, and yet Teranium still held his place, watching the two fight from a certain distance with a serious expression on his face.

While I, who watched their battle from the eighth island, somehow was proposed by the system.

[Notice: A skill called "Instant Incinerate" can be used.]

After feeling a mixture of emotions, the system itself might have felt my deep intentions of wanting to help Greyskim and professed a suitable way of helping him in my current status. But of course, there was an equivalent value for the skill that the system proposed to me.

[Skill: Instant Incinerate]

[Can instantly incinerate any living/celestial being without much effort. It can only be used in desperate situations, for it requires a dangerous compensation for its use.]

[After the skill "Instant Incinerate" is used, five years of the caster's life span will be reduced.]

An overpowered skill with a cost of a five-year life span was surely no doubt a fair trade if it could really kill a Primordial Dragon." I pondered, wondering if taking the risk was truly the right thing to do.

And so on. I continued to wonder if helping Greyskim in exchange for my five-year life span was worth it or not.

But just as I glanced above the sky, I saw something crazy. A huge hole was carved on Greyskim's chest, while one of his arms and wings were torn off, and Ragnathor was completely the same.

It was too sudden; I didn't even see what happened after I got distracted by the system for a short amount of time. And now, both Ragnathor and Greyskim were falling and seemed lifeless.

But the direction they were falling was on the eighth island, completely close to my location.

Just as they crashed to the ground, the entire island shook, causing me to stumble on the floor.

And I raised my head, only to see Teranium smirking after taking a deep breath.

"He seems to be the cause of why both Ragnathor and Greyskim have been severely wounded." I uttered, completely guessing that this was his motive all along.

"To eliminate the two primordial dragons at the same time."

Teranium laughed like a psychopath after seeing that Ragnathor and his older brother, Greyskim, had fallen with their body parts torn off.

"Wonderful! Hahahaha!" He continued laughing, leaving a grin in his face as he looked down on the two fallen dragons.

Chapter 11: Instant Incinerate

Smoke occurred as it slowly dispersed. I stood beyond and watched both Ragnathor and Greyskim be heavily wounded. I could see their noses inhaling and noticed that they were still alive despite the holes in their chests.

But now that it has come to this, without realizing it, I hurriedly ran towards Greyskim without any second thoughts.

Just as I got close to his face, Greyskim turned his head and faced me.

"Why are you here, boy? I left you back on the lower island. How did you get here?" He asked while his voice sounded so low.

"I needed a Dragon's blood to pass through that blue barrier."

"I know, but I left you there for a reason."

I knew that he left me there for a reason, and the reason was this. In his battle against the teranium, he never wanted me to get involved; that's why he left me there. Even without proper explanations, he still thought about my well-being.

"Thanks." I mumbled, looking at his critical state.

"Well, there's no need to thank me now. You can drink my blood right now and escape this place before my brother gets down here." he said in a truly lowered tone, as if his normal arrogant voice had turned into a pale and unstable one.

After he spoke, I did not bother replying. Seeing as he somehow cared about me, I felt angry towards Teranium.

Teranium stared at us as if we looked like dying comrades spouting our last wishes towards each other.

"You three look cute together." Teranium uttered, mocking us altogether.

"Shut up! How dare you use sly tricks!" I yelled without realizing it, unable to accept the fact that he did them dirty.

"Shut your mouth, filthy human! How dare you try and talk back to me!" His voice rang inside my head as if it were gamma rays being sent inside my head.

"This was his plan all along... Ugh.. I should not have participated..." said Ragnathor, who was enduring the unmeasurable pain he took from Teranium's sly attack.

"You're an idiot to begin with." Greyskim said, trying to tease Ragnathor even when they were both nearing their deaths.

I felt sad seeing them tease each other while Teranium was unscathed and flying above, mocking both of them.

"Teranium, you should be the one dying." I muttered and took a deep breath.

"What are you going to do? What can a human child do in this situation? Haha! You're so cute that I want to stomp you with my feet." said Teranium, who was soiled in arrogance, completely knowing that the two dragons behind me could not move their bodies anymore.

But it was good for me since I was sure that he wouldn't dodge my attack.

"What am I going to do? You should just see it for yourself, you old dragon." I said, raising both of my arms as my gun appeared in front of me.

"You think such a weapon can harm me? Hahaha!" Teranium laughed, ignoring any signs of threat towards me. Well, it was indeed great for me. He'll never know it anyway.

"System, I accept." I muttered, while both Ragnathor and Greyskim heard it and were a bit confused as to who I was talking to.

[Warning: Five years of your life span will be deducted. Do you still wish to use the Skill Instant Incinerate?]

"Yes."

"Who's he talking to?" Asked Greyskim.

"I don't know; why don't you ask him." Ragnathor replied.

[Answer Confirmed.]

[Beginning initialization of the forbidden skill.]

[Casting...]

[Five years of your life span will be deducted after the skill has been released.]

My gun turned white. I meant as white as the whitest among the whitest that you could ever imagine.

Teranium still laughed at me, Ignoring the things that were happening to me.

While I began aiming my gun at him, "I hope this works." I said in a quiet tone and clicked the trigger.

Releasing a beaming light that grew larger than Teranium and his remaining wyverns combined. The attack that just came out of my gun did not make any sound. It was silent. It was Indeed the speed of light that even the sound could not follow.

With a blink of an eye, Teranium and his wyvern subordinates disappeared without leaving any traces behind.

Not even a single ash was found in the place they flew.

And after that, my gun disappeared, and as I turned around, I saw Ragnathor, already breathless, with a satisfied look on his face.

It seems he felt glad that Teranium died in the end before he died. While Greyskim vomited a small sphere that was completely covered in red aura. It was the size of a chewable gum.

"Eat this boy and leave this place."

Huh?" I wondered.

"Hurry!" Greyskim said desperately, which made me grab the sphere he had vomited and eat it in an instant.

Just then, Greyskim glanced at the sky and blew me away with his breath. Causing me to get blown away and fall.

Just as I fell, I heard Greyskim's last words in my head.

"Live on, boy."

And after that, I saw a glimpse of several flashing wings swaying back and forth up above and noticed it was another dragon.

"Ah, even in your death, you still thought of me." I muttered after realizing why Greyskim suddenly blew me away up to the point that I had fallen from the eighth island.

And so, as I fell continuously, I passed through the border barrier and fell deep into an unknown sky filled with steaming clouds.

[Notice: The compensation for using the skill "Instant Incinerate" is about to take effect.]

[Five years of your life span will be deducted.]

A loud thump occurred in my chest as my bones began cracking with each passing second.

It was an unbearable pain to deal with that caused me to faint while I continuously fell from the sky.

Passing through an unknown area filled with steaming clouds that engulfed the sky.

As I fainted, I dreamed of Greyskim smiling at me as he stood on the highest island, looking at me directly in the eyes.

"Live on, boy." He said, while somehow our distance grew and grew wider until I could not see him anymore.

With that, I finally woke up and noticed that I was in a gloomy forest surrounded by drought-looking trees.

I raised my head and noticed that the sky seemed dark. It was still nighttime, I presumed.

"Where am I? Did I survive the fall?"

"I should get up and look around." I mumbled.

[Answer: You have survived thanks to your passive skill, "Pain Nullification" which can absorb pain for five times and has finally evolved into "Immortality" which absorbs high damage for ten times and upon deactivation will enhance the host's body and activate Immortality that lasts for ten seconds.]

[When Immortality is in effect, all taken damage will be nullified, and the host will be invincible for ten seconds. Completely neutralizing "Instant Death" Skills.]

"What? Did my passive skill evolve? But how?" I muttered after witnessing the pop-up notifications that the system showed me.

I inspected the holographic tabloid's contents, and my passive skill has truly evolved. I'm guessing there were a lot of things happening when I fell unconscious and immediately opened my status to check it.

"Status."

[Displaying Status]

Nothing really changed that much, and only my Passive skill, Former: "Pain Nullification" has evolved into "Immortality" and...."

Just then, I saw my level and age, along with the new title and the Dragonoid race, which instantly made me shut my mouth.

"I'm 18? And my level? Also my Mana energy? What an absurd amount! My title changed into Dragon Slayer? And what's that Dragonoid? I'm a human though." I spoke in a shocked manner, yelling it abruptly without any concern for my surroundings.

But after I got up and felt something strange, I immediately raised both of my hands, only to witness something that truly shocked the hell out of me.
