Chapter 2: Going into school
~A few years later~
"Nathaniel, wake up!", my mom Elizabeth shouts.
I am now 2 years old and going into preschool.
"Haley will be here in 10 minutes", mom adds.
The most notable things I learned in the last few years are that we are neighbors of the Dunphys and my parents seem to know Jay Pritchett.
Anyway, I'm friends with Haley now. She is 2 months older than I am.
I woke up and did my morning routine. Afterward, my mom and I went across the driveway and were already in front of Dunphy's house. My mom rang the doorbell and soon a young Phil opened the door.
"What's up Nat"
"Hey Phil", I answered.
"Is Elizabeth with Nathaniel here?", Claire asks.
"Yeah darling"
"I will be going then. Thanks for taking Nathaniel with you, Claire"
"Bye honey"
Mom goes away after the goodbye kiss.
"Hi, Nat" a young Haley comes in.
"Hi Hales"
I was a bit nervous as today is my first school day. Luckily I already know Haley.
"Are you nervous"
"Not really, I already know you Nat right?"
"Yeah, you're right I guess."
Claire comes downstairs.
"Let's go, kids"
We go in a station wagon.
After a bit of driving, we already arrived.
We went into the school and got into our groups. Luckily we were in the same group. We played most of the time. We didn't learn anything there.
Like this 3 years passed.
Last year Alex was born.
And Claire is pregnant again.
"I didn't cause a butterfly effect", I was relieved.
I brushed my teeth and washed my face. I went to Haley like every other day. I was there pretty often as my parents weren't much at home. Claire opened the door and Haley jumped into my arms. She seemed very clingy to me. I liked this as I have never felt anything like that in my past life. I may not remember the memories, but I can still feel the deep regret I had.
At the beginning Claire didn't like this clinginess, but she got used to it.
Phil seemed to be not there. He recently got his real estate license.
"Come kids lets go to school."
She held our hands as we got into their now older car.
Like this we went into elementary school.
We were there and had much fun. We finally learned something. I was excited. I was pretty smart as I had Lucifers Angel soul. We too made some friends. We didn't really get any in preschool. I was in Haleys friend group. We only had female friends. She didn't seem to like any other boy than me. After we turned 10 in our last year of elementary school, I proposed to Haley. We were officially a pair now.
Claire wasn't really happy with that, but she eventually accepted it, as I was almost like her second son.
"At least its you and not some nak-", in Claires wording.
Like this we had our first kiss in summer vacation.
Mitch had finally began to date Cam and I knew why my parents knew Jay.
It seems he and my dead grandfather were comrade in arms.
