VANCE’S POV

Three days later, I woke up from a deep sleep and my gaze landed on Killian Ryuu looking good in a suit and seated on the chair next to my bed.

“You are alive.” My hoarse voice rang in my ear.

“I would only allow you to shoot me, Vance. Death by love,” he drawled.

“You must have an urgent meeting.” I raked my eyes over his suit as I diverted my attention from his statement.

"I aim to please my boyfriend,” he responded sweetly.

"Does he know you are cheating on him by coming here?” I snickered.

"He is a hard man to please. I have to sneak into his apartment all the time. I have tried to seduce him, but he is reluctant to surrender himself to me,” Killian teased.

"F*cking a*shole,” I retorted, and Killian just laughed in amusement. “Why are you here?”

“I missed you, Vance.” He smiled warmly.

“Missed me? Get a life, Killian.” My feet swung off the bed and I stood up. I had forgotten that the night had been hot, and I only wore pajama shorts and a vest.
