Chapter 29: Atlantis

Atlantis was a city founded by the Homo magi, but with the beginning of the gods and titans' conflict, most of the Homo magi migrated to another dimension known as Gemworld. Those who stayed were not strong enough to control Atlantis, and thus the Homo sapiens took over the country. Although the Homo magi were no longer the rulers, they still held a high status in society.

As time passed, Atlantis survived the war, and in the end, Inmo had single-handedly killed the titans, ending the titan era. Everyone celebrated for days. However, the destruction caused by oceans and Hyperion had made much of the land uninhabitable for humans. The gods decided to take the saved humans to Atlantis. Initially, everything seemed fine, but years later, Poseidon came to them with an irresistible proposal. In exchange for the gods' rare magical metal that could elevate Atlantis's technological level to another realm, they would have to obey the gods' commands, especially Poseidon's. The humans, realizing their insignificance compared to divine beings like titans and gods, hungered for power and ultimately accepted the metal, even if it meant serving the gods.

As time went on, the gods became more demanding, even transforming some humans who displeased them into terrible and grotesque monsters. The humans, with their advancements in using the rare metal, grew increasingly rebellious. The gods then commanded them to march to the immortal city and kill every man, woman, and child there. Initially, they were reluctant to go, but the gods forced them, and they had no choice but to go to war. They prepared their tanks, aircraft, weapons, and their best soldiers and sorcerers for the impending battle. The brave men and women marched to war, but when they returned, they were no longer the same. They were a group of desperate humans without hope, announcing that Inmo would destroy Atlantis forever. They were given only one day to leave the country. Some wanted to leave immediately, while others wished to stay and fight, believing their recent advancements in using the gods' metal were enough to protect them. The majority voted to leave, with only a few choosing to stay.

At the dawn of a new day, the Atlanteans who stayed in the city were on guard, awaiting Inmo's arrival. A few minutes later, they saw a light in the sky rapidly increasing in speed, tripling every second and getting closer and closer until it collided with the city, causing a massive explosion that killed most of those still in the country in a matter of seconds. But Inmo did not stop there; he went further, destroying Atlantis' foundations, sinking the entire country to the bottom of the sea.

Those who left survived, creating new human settlements around the world, giving rise to new peoples with different cultures and races, forming the basis of today's society. As for those who stayed, most of them perished, but a few lucky ones survived. During the explosion, the gods' metal had an unprecedented reaction, genetically altering some of the Atlanteans, making them stronger and adapting their bodies to live in the sea.

This story was passed down through generations, becoming folklore in various cultures, changing over time and almost becoming a different tale in each society. However, over the years, one thing remained constant: the warning never to dare approach the immortal city, a divine city made of pure gold where the gods reside. But that is a story for another day.
