Chapter 50: 49. Awkward Silences

That was strange, Elliot thought to himself as he watched Sheree. They had been escorted to their room by a security officer and instructed not to leave. Sheree stood just behind the closed door and looked around the room. To Elliot it looked as if she didn't recognize anything she saw. Then all of a sudden, her head jerked upward, and her eyes widened as if she had just realized something.

"Today was crazy, I need a shower," she said and began walking toward her bed.

"Hey are you okay?" Elliot asked and grabbed her left hand.

When their hands touched Sheree's entire body went rigid and she moaned as the rush of energy hit her. Breathing heavily, she yanked her hand away and backed away from Elliot. The look on her face was one of utter shock. She looked from her hand to Elliot and back a few times and then it happened again. Something occurred to her, and she acted as if the last few seconds didn't exist.
