Chapter 16: Chapter 16 - Abyss Prison Realm
Ye Yan led Yun Tian to where the Thunder God's Meteorite Sword arrived in the deepest part of the Heavenly Sacred Border. He could sense the violent current slamming into him that caused an illusion showing the countless demon beast that the weapon had slain. The sword had formed a soul of its own meaning and has the ability to think and decide for itself close to his Twin Goddess Sword.
Yun Tian unfazed by the raging storm and crackling lightning concentrating on the weapon at hand. Ye Yan simply observed from afar as he started to step forward indifferent from the deafening sound caused by the weapon. It's been a long time since someone had wielded the weapon and the last one had died due to the immense power contained within the Thunder God's Meteorite Sword.
The energy surrounding it was slowly absorbed into Yun Tian taking the lightning like it was nothing tempering his body and it didn't take long before he stood face to face with the weapon. He looked down upon it and saw that the will was akin to a violent child that exuded a profound power that isn't simple law nor heavenly energy.
He was intrigued to say the least and began to subdue it violently and tried to overwhelm his soul but Yun Tian's strength was vastly superior even if the energy it produced was vastly different from the world they currently occupied. Frankly, it was not simple energy to begin it rather something close to Power of Law yet beyond Heavenly Energy.
Yun Tian was shrouded in lightning coursing through his body but easily guided and used them into tempering his Temporal Vines that grew even further where their roots deep into the cracks of his soul. He pulled out the sword that began to change and refine until it was completely submitted to him. The people outside sense the sudden change happening but it was only for a split second until it vanished completely.
He swings the sword sending powerful lighting destroying part of the subsidiary realm leaving Ye Yan dumbfounded at the child. Yun Tian would have given the weapon to Yoruichi but she prefers to use her movement speed and precise strike in battle rather than carry such destructive weapons. Yun Tian sheathed the weapon and turned his attention to Ye Yan who welcomed him with open arms.
"Didn't expect you to truly tame that weapon." He was still shocked by everything.
"Come with me, Ancestor. It's best if we arrive somewhere it won't cause a commotion." Reviving one of the founders would make a huge commotion and they don't want that to happen.
Ye Yan nodded and followed Yun Tian back to Glory City straight to his compound where the founder sensed the dense energy surrounding Glory City and sense many legends rank over hundred of them and more. He couldn't believe his eyes and was moved to tears that the younger generation was now able to prosper reaching new heights.
The countless sacrifices they had done was not in vain and Yun Tian let his ancestor a moment to relish the joy of knowing his former friends and alley who had died during the beginning of the dark age able to slowly restore their city to its former glory.
They soon arrived at their compound where Ye Yan saw his descendant, Ye Ziyun playing with Xiao Ning'er and Huyan Lanruo joined by Mia and Mio while Yun Mei was sleeping having her tail grabbed the tree sleeping. He thought Yun Mei was a demon spiritualist and unaware he was actually a demon beast.
He took him to their personal train ground where Ye Yan listened to his instructions and was soaked in a river of energy that made his soul enter a state of tranquility recalling his life and how everything began till this point. Ye Yan was humbled by the fact he became a pebble child to a powerful elder realizing how naive and foolish he had seen things having narrowed it down thinking he was above everyone else.
Ye Yan took his first breath and looked at Yun Tian with a sincere and enlightened gaze having returned to a more mature and sagely sight. He regained his youth around the same age as Ye Zong and despite his lack of cultivation was a lot more refined than before.
"Young boy, not only have you revived me but also reignited my passion for martial arts. I thank you." He bowed down to Yun Tian showing his sincerity and his In-law shook his head.
"Once again, it is due to the hard work of the founder that I am here today. You've helped maintain this city the best you can." Ye Yan smiled nodding and soon after received a cultivation from Yun Tian amaze how his method was thousand, no, a million times better than any of his knowledge provided.
He broke through layers upon layers of realms until he stopped at Peak Gold Rank at the end of his cultivation and was truly beyond grateful to Yun Tian. Soon after, Ye Yan met up with his descendant's shock to find their founder and ancestors to be alive.
"Ye Zong, you've chosen wisely for a son-in-law. Not only is he talented, his character is better than even me. I was humbled upon meeting him."
He was drinking with Ye Zong as they were having a chat about the current situation of the city and they're relationship with Yun Tian.
"Indeed, I feel ashamed as a father in law that I cannot provide anything that has worth in his eyes." Ye Zong recalled the only thing that he was interested in was the egg that became his foster granddaughter. Ye Yan understood what he meant and even he couldn't fathom what kind treasure would make Yun Tian waver. They only met for a few hours yet he somehow understood his character.
"Regardless, I will do everything within my power to repay his kindness and contribution." Ye Zong was unaware that he already gave the most prize treasure that Yun Tian wanted and that was a family. People would be by his side till the very end.
Time passed and Yun Tian was training on how to utilize his newly acquired weapon that had been steadily growing inside his [ Godly Grimoire ] and Ye Yan started to cultivate the power of law namely the Life Law. His arrival had been a shock to everyone but was happy nonetheless that one of their great founders was now with them. Ye Yan began to help expand Glory City further to the wilderness after their strength had increased exponentially.
At the present, Yun Tian ended his training and went to activate the Ten Millennium Spatial Array where the places had surrounding barriers. There are sixteen 6 meter tall dome-like towers carved with extremely complicated inscription patterns. He activated all of them rather easily and within an instant a blinding light flash appeared.
Yun Tian could easily use space time law to enter but decided it would be more interesting to retrace the steps of those that use the array. He soon finds himself in another place with a cold rain dripping onto the ground. Ahead of them is an endlessly dark wilderness. The distant mountains were vaguely seen. Above them was an infinite sky.
"This place is full of mystery…."
He muttered to himself sensing that the place was dreary and bleak that made Glory City seem like paradise. Suddenly, a monkey-like creature appeared from far away. It doesn't have any hair on its body, its skin is scarlet in color. It has sharp pointy ears, short arms but long and slender claws, and bulging eyes were like a couple of blue jewels that were blooming with faint light.
'Scarlet Ghost?'
The Scarlet Ghost is only a Silver ranked demon beast. It got its name from its ugly appearance. Though the Scarlet Ghost is only 1-star Silver rank, creatures like the Scarlet Ghost love to hang out in hordes. The Scarlet Ghost from before is calling for more of its companions.
It shrieked in his direction and gradually thousands of them began to appear with Yun Tian indifferently noticing something was different. Normally, the Scarlet Ghost likes to group up to hunt for prey, however, their guts are extraordinarily small.
When encountering a prey in groups, they would usually tail them until their prey's physical strength was exhausted before attacking. However, these Scarlet Ghosts simply attack the prey as soon as they see it. However they appear more ferocious than normal.
"Let me handle this!"
Yun Mei appeared to fight off them all followed by Yoruicihi and Irene as they slaughtered the Scarlet Ghost rather easily displaying their power and speed. In a matter of minutes they had massacred over thousands of Scarlet Ghost.
"Master, I found this in one of them." Yoruichi stepped forward handing something to Yun Tian and his interest perked up.
"This is…Blood Crystal?"
Blood Crystals are a type of extremely strange ores. After being swallowed and refined by demon beasts, it could generate a surge of endless power, it even has the ability allowing them to rise in rank.
Aside from that, the Blood Crystal has another usage. By sealing it within the body of a low-grade demon beast, it could forcefully raise the growth speed. However, the demon beasts produced this way would become extremely brutal.
Yun Tian doesn't need it nor his woman but decided to collect them and give them to the people in Glory City.
"Irene, Yoruichi, go ahead and collect them for me." He commanded as Irene and Yoruichi nodded, taking their time to gather all of them while Yun Mei joined for a moment. After having collected the Blood Crystal, the group continued their journey where Yun Mei faced off against a Netherlamp Behemoth Demon beast.
It is a gigantic gold rank demon beast. It is rather slow so instead it hunts by tricking others into coming closer. On its forehead hangs a lamp that it uses to lure its prey. When something gets close to it, it'll suddenly open its mouth and completely swallow them. Its sharp teeth can easily crush a rock.
The demon beast hides in the darkness and strikes out with its thousands of long tongues, coiling around its prey and dragging it to its mouth. Its saliva contains a mild hallucinatory effect that weakens the target.
Needless to say Yun Mei won without problem but the prize was almost stolen by another mysterious demon beast in the sky but it was easily killed by a powerful blast from Irene incinerated it using a powerful beam of fire from her mouth.
When that was over, Yun Tian continued his journey alone where he came face to face with a gigantic monument. The height of the gigantic monument is roughly dozens meters tall, besides having ash gray tone.
The huge monument is carved with six types of ancient text. Yun Tian could roughly make out one of them.
"Those who follow me, shall be honored. Those who oppose me, shall perish. In the lifetime, gifted with extraordinary talent. Started to comprehend at the age of ten, splitting mountains and scattering stones. Comprehended the gentle realm at the age of thirteen, drying a river at the wave of a hand. At the age of sixteen, comprehended the profound power of the demon spirits, and broke through the Legend rank realm. At the age of thirty, no one under the sky can withstand three of my strikes, battling all supreme experts around the world and have never tasted defeat. Comprehended the realm of man at the age of forty, opened the wisdom, knowing the past and present. At the age of fifty, sensed a calamity arriving, abandoned the throne and left. Leaving behind ten words, to pass down to the next generation..."
Reading the words on the gigantic monument, Yun Tian was shocked. He never thought that this ancient monument would be left behind by Emperor Kong Ming. From this monument, Yun Tian could feel that Emperor Kong Ming must be an extremely gifted person during his lifetime..
The ten word chant that Emperor Kong Ming left behind...
Yun Tian's gaze landed on the bottom of the ancient monument. However, there are scrape marks on the ancient monument that appeared to be done by some sharp object, making the words blurred beyond recognition.
"What chant did Emperor Kong Ming leave behind? Why is it scraped off?" Yun Tian's brows are tightly knitted together. Could it be that someone came here before him? After that person looked at the ten word chant, in order to prevent someone from seeing it, he scraped it off?
After searching the side of the ancient monument for a while, and discovering nothing else, an idea flashed in his mind. His hand touched the scrape marks and mysterious inscription pattern slowly spread out onto the ancient monument.
"Never thought that Emperor Kong Ming already surpassed Legend rank when he set this monument. When he carved those words, he left his intent within it. Although someone scraped the words off, it's not possible to scrape the intent left behind by Emperor Kong Ming." Scenes flashed one after another within Yun Tian's mind.
It was as though he was in the distant sky. A white robed middle aged man quietly stood there.
"Who am I?..."
