Not only was the dark-skinned man shocked at Iris' powerful kick, but the rest of the men fell into horrified silence. Their mocking smiles instantly faded, and in unison, they turned to look at the red-haired man, seeking his orders.
A frown appeared on the red-haired man as he said, "Attack her all at once. If she fights back, just kill her!" he commanded coldly. He couldn't afford to let this woman escape, as she knew too much about their underground business. They would be in serious trouble if this woman told the authorities about their main operation.
"Yes, brother!!" The other men shouted in unison, marching towards Iris to capture her.
'Damn it!' Iris cursed while taking a pocket knife out of her coat and positioning herself in a defensive stance. As the five men rushed towards her, a fierce smile appeared on her lips.
'Good!! It would be troublesome if all six of you attacked me!' Iris felt a surge of confidence as she saw the red-haired man standing back, watching them. She knew she had to deal with these five quickly and then take care of their leader.
Two men in the front attacked her. With a swift movement, she dodged a strong punch aimed at her and swiftly stabbed the man's armpit and her powerful kick landed above his knees. A loud 'crack' echoed as his knee broke instantly.
The man slumped to the ground, letting out a deafening howl of pain that shattered the serene night. Everything happened so fast. Before the others could react, another loud scream echoed through the air.
Three men, still a few meters away from Iris, froze in shock as they witnessed their two comrades writhing on the ground in agony. The smell of blood filled the air, making them hesitate as they stared at Iris with fear.
"Guys! She has a knife, be careful!!" Another man shouted, causing the rest to remain motionless, wary of the fierce woman before them.
Iris didn't give them a chance to draw their weapons; she sprinted toward the three men, and she appeared right before them without their knowing.
With powerful kicks and knife stabs, she targeted the weak points in their bodies, making her attacks efficient. In just a few seconds, the three of them were lying on the ground, unable to fight back. The only sounds that could be heard were howls of pain and curses escaping their lips.
After taking down the six big men, Iris started to feel exhausted and short of breath.
'Six down, one left. I will finish him!' she muttered, feeling a sense of satisfaction. However, before she could attack the last person, her movement abruptly stopped when her eyes met his demonic gaze.
"Tch! You can stop now, bitch..." said the red-haired man coldly as he pointed his gun at Iris's head.
'DAMN IT!' She couldn't help but curse inwardly.
Despite the gun aimed at her head, her calmness remained. Her expression showed no fear; instead, she smiled at the red-haired man.
"Brother, you should be ashamed of your men," said Iris calmly, her tone dripping with mockery. "How can you use a gun to fight me when they were fighting me with their bare hands?"
The red-haired man gritted his teeth, annoyance welling up in his eyes.
"Are you that weak? Afraid of fighting women with your bare hands?" Iris taunted him again, deliberately provoking him. She knew she could fight him with her bare hands and was confident she could win, but she wasn't sure she could escape his bullet if he shot her now — their distance was about five meters long.
If she attacked him now, he would shoot her before she could touch him. Acting without caution would be too dangerous. Her only option now was to continue her psychological attack and find an opening to strike him without risking her life.
"Jeez, this is the first time I've seen a man like you not daring to fight a woman with his bare hands!" Iris smiled, shaking her head slightly as she started moving forward, trying not to draw his attention.
However, the red-haired man was not stupid. He noticed Iris's movement.
"Little slut!" The red-haired man shouted as he tightened his grip on his gun. "You think you can fool me?" he chuckled.
Iris cursed inwardly. 'Darn it!' She was frustrated that he saw through her plans so quickly.
A warm bright smile appears on her face as Iris said in her alluring voice, "Big Brother..." she tried another approach, deciding to talk nicely to him or perhaps even seduce him with her charm. She smiled secretly, thinking of her brilliant plan.
"I'm confused why a good and handsome brother like you wants to kill me. Please, brother, save me, hmm..." She blinked a few times and gave him a seductive smile.
The man furrowed his brow, causing Iris to smile even more.
'Jeez, this guy is so weak. I might have succeeded in seducing him...'
"Brother, I have never offended you before, so why are you chasing me?" Her voice sounded alluring but tinged with sadness. "Please forgive me if I offended you, brother. I can reward you if you let me go..."
Iris managed to gain a step forward without the man noticing. Only a few meters left between them, which made her happy. However, her happiness vanished when she heard someone shout from behind.
"Brother, don't trust this woman. She's trying to trick you!! Just kill her!"
Iris was enraged, quickly glancing at the dark-skinned man who exposed her. She felt like gagging his mouth with a slipper. Gosh, how troublesome!
"Okay, we're done here!" The red-haired man said as he released the weapon lock and slowly squeezed the trigger.
BANG!
'This is my end?' She thought, closing her eyes and accepting her supposed death for the second time.
But, after a few seconds had passed, she was still standing where she was, without feeling any pain from the bullet piercing her body.
'What happened!?' Iris slowly opened her eyes. No words came out of her mouth, as she was simply shocked and speechless by what she saw.

A few minutes earlier, after waiting for almost an hour, Xavier finally saw Iris exit from the X Bar.
His eyes showed a strange glint, seeing this girl spending a night in such a place. His feet suddenly stopped as he hesitated to approach her. He decided to get back to his car and head home.
'You're such a fool, Xavier! Why are you worried about her?' He talked to himself while walking back to his car. He couldn't understand why he had impulsively rushed to follow her and why he was worrying about her.
However, Xavier's steps halted once again when he heard the thoughts of several men following behind Iris.
He turned to take a closer look at her. As he saw a few men following her, a vein appeared on his forehead, thinking about something. After a while, he disappeared from his spot. Then he reappeared atop another building, silently tracking Iris as she walked towards a smaller, darker alley.
'What is she doing now? Why did she take that street?' Xavier couldn't help but question her actions.
His pale face slowly darkened as he heard the thoughts of the men following her, which started to annoy him. And to make matters worse, he couldn't hear Iris's thoughts. Not even a bit or an echo. It frustrated him. He blindly didn't know what Iris wanted to do. And for the first time, he realized how mortal felt.
Countless questions filled Xavier's mind, but what made him extremely curious was whether this girl deliberately led them down this empty path or if she was unaware that it was a dangerous place. Could she defend herself?
Standing motionless in place, he watched as the men verbally abused her. Hearing their flirtatious words irritated him, and he felt the urge to go down and kill them all. But something stopped him.
Another strange question now tormented his mind, 'Why do you care about her?'
Xavier rubbed his brows as he searched his mind for an answer. However, no matter how hard he searched, no answer appeared. He felt annoyed with his own attitude and thoughts toward this mysterious girl who suddenly captured his attention.
'Should I help her?'
After a few moments, he decided to help her. He knew that Iris had no martial arts skills, and they would definitely harm her if he didn't step in.
Just before Xavier wanted to intervene and take on all these men, his eyes widened when he saw a man being sent flying by Iris's kick.
'Since when did she know martial arts?'
He was even more stunned, observing how fast and choreographically beautiful her moves, effortlessly spin kicking a man much bigger than her.
The more Xavier watched the girl beat up all the men that attacked her, the more astonished he became by her abilities. He grew increasingly convinced that Iris Gray was someone else; she was not the same Iris he knew.
The situation below heated up as Xavier saw the red-haired man pointing his gun at Iris. He felt curious and wanted to know what other abilities Iris' had.
'Could she avoid that bullet?'
Before he could find the answer, he heard the man's thoughts. It made him worry about her.
"Okay, we're done here!" The red-haired man said as he released the gun lock and slowly pressed the trigger.
BANG!
In an instant, Xavier disappeared from his spot and appeared right in front of Iris.
There was a sudden silence, and the groaning of people on the ground ceased. Even the sound of the wind stopped. It was as if time had frozen, and the surroundings were suspended.
Xavier calmly raised his hand and touched the bullet that had stopped inches before him. He gently tilted the bullet a few inches from Iris.
His calm eyes stared at the frozen red-haired man in front of him. With his index finger swaying gently, an invisible force propelled the red-haired man several meters back, crashing into a large tree by the roadside. A loud crash was heard as the tree toppled over, and his lifeless body slumped to the ground.
After confirming that the red-haired man was dead, Xavier turned his attention to Iris behind him.
He watched Iris freeze with her eyes tightly closed. Carefully, he looked at her face, trying to find anything that would make her attractive, but he found nothing; she looked the same as her usual self, often using heavy makeup like now. Somehow, he preferred to see her without makeup, just like when he saw her this morning.
Xavier took a deep breath before gently snapping his fingers in the air.
Slowly, everyone around him came alive, just as before; the six men on the ground moved, their eyes looking around, confused. When their eyes saw a pale man in a black outfit standing in front of Iris, their eyes widened in fear.
Xavier ignored them, his eyes locked onto Iris' blue eyes, noticing a glint of shock in them.
"...You!" Her voice trembled, and her eyes wavered.
He didn't say anything but felt amused when he saw her slowly raise her hand to cover her O-shaped mouth.
Iris seemed shocked to see Xavier standing so close to her, close enough to smell his fresh scent, just like the scent she had kept in her mind from when he hugged her this morning.
For a moment, Xavier and Iris just stared at each other, ignoring the bandits trying to get up and escape from the place. But no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't move, as if someone glued their feet to the ground.
"Iris," Xavier's soothing voice made Iris snap out of her daze. "Aren't you glad to see me?" he said gently, enough to warm Iris's face and calm her heart. She silently gulped, still unable to utter a word.
"Okay, let's go!" Xavier said, turning his back and walking towards the main street. She could only follow him closely while trying to remember what happened just now.
Why didn't the red-haired man's bullet hit her? Why did Xavier suddenly appear before her? And where is the red-haired man?
Ahem, how's the story so far? Please write your thoughts... ^__^
