Chapter 240: Chairman Xia's granddaughter

Old Master Xia felt slightly relieved, but his anger was still seething. "We need to send that woman to jail for attempted murder!"

"You don't have to worry, Grandpa," Xia Lihua reassured him. "She won't show her face around here ever again." It was true. Xia Sirong would be bedridden, and it would be a miracle if she ever stood or walked again because the toxin Xia Lihua had given her was incurable.

Xia Sirong would eventually die from the pain.

She had wanted to kill Old Master Xia, but Xia Lihua had retaliated tenfold.

"Are you sure?" Old Master Xia asked.

"I'm positive! Rest assured, you will never see her again!"

Old Master Xia was very much reassured with that. He finally felt like he could eat in peace. He picked up the chopsticks and began eating again. 

"Then, Grandpa, since I've already had dinner, I'm going to bed!" 

Old Master Xia nodded, his eyes crinkling with affection. "Hmm, sleep well, Lihua. Good night!"
