Chapter 16: Parents' POV

<Mark mom's (Maria's) POV>

Ever since I got pregnant with my baby, things just seemed to get better and better.

My husband's business idea turned out to be successful, thus now we are going on a trip around Asia that will last the whole Summer and a bit of Spring to celebrate this success and we are also using this chance go on a honeymoon as well.

I hope the baby will be a girl, we do everything that my Peter doesn't want to do with me.

'No matter how much I love and know about you, I can't physically fathom how can you like shopping or going to large party events' so he says. And I believe him though if you get to know him, you wouldn't believe this.

One time we went to this club in Persia and there is a lot of things going on. Drinking, dancing, drunkards fooling around. I tried to make him talk to a lot of people and yes, he talked, but after 10 minutes of talking, he forcefully talked to over 20 people and left alone.

'You can be here alone, but don't drag me into talking through force' or so he said.

You couldn't believe how surprised I was when he told me he's an introvert. When we are talking, I have so much fun, so I thought he was an extrovert like me.

He doesn't care much for his appearance or what he eats. As long as the food he eats is healthy, he doesn't mind eating the same thing for days and he only showers or cleans his house at all is because 'bugs are a pain to deal with'.

*Sigh* How did I fall in love with such a guy

Though he is so sweet.

A couple of months before our wedding he secretly found out about a wedding traditions of carrying daggers so he decided, in secret to learn how to forge and decided to make our rings as well, so he remembered how to do goldsmithing.

Apparently his father is a goldsmith and Peter was thought how to goldsmith, so he made jewelry until college. He was forced to end his goldsmithing career because there was no forge that he could use close enough.

He secretly went on a trip, saying, he will get us the wedding rings and he must meet his father alone as part of his family tradition. I said 'nonsense, you are lying' at the time, but before I realized, he was gone and only then did I realize how much he was doing for me.

He was doing all the annoying household chores like cleaning the dishes and cleaning up the mess we made after my surprises, pranks and other things. Now I was forced to do it all alone.

He was gone till there was only two weeks left before our wedding carrying two mysterious boxes. If only I knew what was inside. My husband hid those boxes so well that I though that he threw out these boxes.

But I didn't give up. I tailed Peter everywhere, I searched through our house in it's entirety.

I never found those boxes and even to this day I am curious as to where did he hide them, but I'm definitely going to find out where he hid them. I'm strangely suspicious about where he hid them as every time I ask him, he ignores my question, at first he started sweating, but now he ignores it like it isn't even there.

I only found out what was in these boxes on the day of my wedding. Turns out he forged a dagger and two beautiful rings for us and the only rings that match their beauty cost at least 10 million euros (~16.3 million euro in todays money).

I almost burst into tears if happiness from this. According to his father, he spent almost 1 month on just designing and he spent the majority of his time in the forge, where the average temperature is 40 Celsius (104 Fahrenheit).

I can't imagine how much he suffered from this.

'This ain't much knowing that he came from a family of blacksmiths' said Jack, Peter's father, but I still worry for him, I can't even begin to imagine how many times he must've gone to the hospital due to this.

Luckily, he doesn't deal with a lot of harm these days.

Now, we are calmly relaxing in our home. Thanks to our business, we have no debts remaining and he makes sure that both him and me are properly educated on the financial side, so things have gone only for the better. I hope we will reach 50k per month within the next year.

<Mark father's (Peter's) POV>

Being born in a family of smith grants you thick skin, literally, but when I say I have thick skin, my friends think that I'm talking about my calmness.

*Sigh* If only my wife realizes how many all-nighters I have pulled, *Shiver* the couch would be my best friend for a while.

Maria's a very lovely woman, albeit a tad spoiled, but I managed to mostly erase the spoiled-part off of her.

I wouldn't consider myself lucky for falling for her, but she's one hell of a woman.

Her talent in sewing and painting all most rivals mine in forging and leather-working and dad says I'm a genius.

Her energy is also amazing, her ability to socialize too. So after her financial knowledge got better and she learned what I considered the bare minimum about psychology and talking, I had her attend events that had a lot of people attending and were important for our company.

Before her I lived a good life, by my standards only apparently.

When I told her for the first time how I live, she looked at me with eyes that looked like they were about to fall of, with her mouth opening and closing at the same time. Heh, I bet I impressed her with my life.

But on the next day she came to my apartment and took me for a shopping spree. Good God, please make me forget that experience.

The whole day I was shopping and occasionally relaxing, Maria's presence and cheese cake with chocolate doesn't help.

I was under-furnished, under-clothed, under-almost everything, or so Maria has said.

I mean I lived in a good apartment. It had everything I needed - A shower, a bedroom, a normal functioning kitchen, the closet and anything that was necessary to me, but NO, it wasn't.

Maria said that what I had didn't even qualify as basic living needs, so she took me out on a shopping spree. I was the one paying for everything.

And 2k are just gone like that.

But besides that, I have to say, I'm not even sure how I succeeded.

When I look back to it, it doesn't feel real, I mean it quite literally, something about that success doesn't feel right.

I constantly started to experience this strange feeling everywhere around myself. And this feeling got especially strong around people, especially around Maria's belly. The day I felt this feeling from her, I told her to go to the doctor.

Turns out my wife is pregnant.

That event still brings tears to my eyes.

"Honey, why do I see tears in your eyes?"

"I'm reminiscing about the past"

"Do it later or I'll make you go clean the roof"

As I said before, she's on hell of a woman.

Though I occasionally wish that I go back to the simple times of when I went to my parents to forge that dagger and the two rings. Wake up, breakfast, work, lunch, work, dinner, work, shower, sleep, that's it.

Simple, efficient, just my style.

When going back, I thought where to hide it and knowing my wife, she would search anywhere and with her ability to make friends, even hiding in a hotel wouldn't work, so I had to ask my ex to hide these boxes.

She asked for an outrageous price.

To cheat on Maria with her, luckily it was a one time event, but it's a stain that I would so anything to remember.

Sophia, I apologize for playing on your feelings, but it was necessary.

Maria, if you ever find this out, I hope you will leave my forge alone.

Either way, before the baby even my consultant was saying that this was a failed idea, but then I felt as if something changed in me and I started to do things differently.

The me I know of would've started paying to create a good jingle that would be played on TVs and Radios, but I, instead payed a newspaper to do a positive review on my beginning business and then also payed other groups of people to mail flyers, postcards and so on.

This is far too suspicious.

Thanks to this, the inner child in me wishes that my baby would be the God's incarnation or something like that.

God, I once again thank you for this gift you have bestowed me

CREATORS' THOUGHTS

Yes, I will leave religions in this world even after the start of main plot. I think that it adds a more realistic feel to a story. And I have never read a LitRPG that included real religions.

I hold no grudges against any religion.

If you see me mentioning certain religions and ignoring others is because of the place I'm writing about, so in Europe, Christianity will dominate, In India, Hinduism, In Japan, Shintoism and so on
