Chapter 16: A Trip

As Zuri followed the Prince into his office, she felt a subtle sense of oppression as if the Prince was angry at something. Was he angered that she had come in late? Or that she had fallen asleep in his room. Should she apologize? As she tried to gather her thoughts, Prince Jaden ordered, "Tell the butler to prepare the carriage. We will be going to the marketplace. There are a few sheets of paper on my table. You will separate and arrange them in order, and then I want you to put the wax stamp on them and hand them to the butler to post them."

Jaden's voice sounded stern and he'd given these instructions without even a glance in her direction. His face had been turned down, and his gaze had been fixed on the papers as he shuffled them over and over again.
