Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Thor, I Heard You're Afraid of Electricity?
This time, there were four participants in the answering space: Thor, Iron Man Tony Stark, Hawkeye Clint Barton, and Nick Fury's right-hand man, Phil Coulson.
Except for Tony Stark, the others were entering the answering space for the first time.
"Where is this?" Clint Barton immediately drew his bow and took an arrow from behind, but before he could nock it, he put it down again. "Could this be the answering space that Romanoff mentioned?"
"Father, is that you?" Thor looked up and asked the sky. "Is it you who brought me here?"
Phil Coulson remained silent, observing both the environment and the people before him.
Among the group, Phil Coulson appeared the most "ordinary," but he was also the calmest.
Of course, Tony Stark couldn't be considered ordinary; he was already known for his eccentricities.
"Thor, God of Thunder?" Tony Stark's gaze fell on Thor, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. "I never expected to see you alive and well. You really came to Earth!"
"Do you know me?" Thor turned to look at Tony Stark. "And who are you?"
"Tony Stark," Tony Stark replied, then asked, "So, you really got knocked down by a little electric gun, huh?"
Thor: "..."
How did everyone find out about him being knocked down by an electric gun?
Who leaked this information!
"Are you really the God of Thunder? The Thor who's afraid of electricity?" Tony Stark asked again. "If you're Thor, why are you afraid of electricity?"
"Coulson, do you know this annoying guy?" Thor immediately lost interest in talking to Tony Stark.
"I think there's hardly anyone in America who doesn't know Mr. Stark," Phil Coulson observed attentively. "Mr. Stark, you don't seem surprised at all. Do you know this place?"
"Didn't the egghead tell you?" Tony Stark countered.
"Director Fury just asked me to wait for Thor in New Mexico," Phil Coulson replied.
"Since everyone is here for the first time, let me explain briefly," Tony Stark said. "We call this place the 'answering space.' We don't know who sets the questions, but we know that the questioner pulls us into this special space to ask us questions. If we answer correctly, we will be rewarded. On the other hand, if we answer incorrectly, we will be punished."
"Really? Just to ask us questions?" Phil Coulson found it somewhat absurd. Such a big fuss just for asking questions?
"Yes, to answer questions, specifically about the future," Tony Stark added. "So far, all the questions asked by the questioner have been related to the future. It seems that the questioner can see the future and captures snippets of it, presenting them in the form of videos."
"That's impossible!" Thor shook his head as soon as he heard that. "How can there be someone who can do that? Even my father couldn't accomplish such a thing, capturing the future and turning it into videos!"
"How do you think we knew you would come to Earth?" Tony Stark countered. "And how do you think we knew about you being knocked down by an electric gun?"
"Could it be... this is the question?" Thor wondered.
"Exactly, it's a question," Tony Stark said. "In this question, you being hit by a car and knocked down by an electric gun are shown as future events in video form, right here in this answering space, right in front of us, the participants!"
"Us?" Thor grasped the key word keenly. "Who else has seen it?"
"Nick Fury and Natasha Romanoff," Clint Barton mentioned two names.
"Shit!" Thor couldn't help but curse silently. He, the mighty God of Thunder, had so many glorious moments in his life, so why did they choose to show the video of him being knocked down by an electric gun?
The questioner must have a grudge against him!
"Hawkeye, it seems the egghead told you," Tony Stark said. "That's right, this answering space has appeared once before. The last time, it was me, the egghead, and that hot elite assassin answering the questions together. We answered a total of five questions and learned some things about the future."
"Is it really the future?" Thor asked in return. "What makes you think it's the future? Perhaps we're all under an illusion?"
"We saw you being knocked down by an electric gun. You were really knocked down by an electric gun, so, it can't be..." Tony Stark trailed off.
"Come on, can we please stop talking about me being knocked down by an electric gun?" Thor looked annoyed.
"You still haven't told me why a God of Thunder like you got electrocuted."
"So, what future events did you see in those five questions?" Thor quickly changed the topic.
"Many things. The arrival of a Thor who got knocked down by an electric gun, a World War II veteran who supposedly died 70 years ago but is actually alive, me unexpectedly joining a boy band..." Tony Stark stepped closer to Thor. "And most importantly, Thor, your brother Loki, he will also come to Earth!"
"Loki is coming too?" Thor's mouth widened. "What is he coming for? To take me back to Asgard?"
"No, he brought an army and weapons," Tony Stark said in a solemn voice. "People are crying, and the fires of war are burning. The whole of New York has become a battlefield. And your brother Loki is the mastermind behind all of this!"
"Stark, watch your words," Thor became angry. "Loki wouldn't do such a thing! Yes, he can be cunning and mischievous at times, but he is not someone who would start a war! Besides, he doesn't have an army at all!"
"He brought the Chitauri army."
"The Chitauri?" Thor almost laughed. "That's ridiculous! How could Loki have any connection with them?"
"This is the question we need you to answer," Tony Stark's temper, which wasn't good to begin with, flared up. "Why did Loki lead the Chitauri to invade New York? What is he looking for on Earth? You better make it clear to me."
"What if I don't?" Thor sneered, extending his hand, ready for Mjolnir to fly to him.
"Thor, it seems like your hammer doesn't recognize you anymore," Phil Coulson reminded from the side.
"... " Thor chuckled awkwardly, retracting his arm and pretending to stretch his muscles. He looked at Tony Stark with arrogance. "You dare to threaten me, Thor?"
"The last time you said something like that, you were immediately knocked down by a small electric gun," Tony Stark said.
Thor: "..."
Can we please stop talking about the electric gun already?
