Chapter 3: World: ??? - The Scammer’s First Time

I made my way over to the building I saw in the distance, thank god everyone is trying to get to places to want go in a hurry, they weren't really paying him any attention otherwise.

Though I did have lower my head down so people wouldn't notice the fact I'm a 6"6, which would've brought attention.

Getting out of the traveling group of people, he climbed the steps of the library and went right in, it was slightly warm though, he wasn't even sure if ACs are even a thing at this time, so it made sense.

At first I wanted to find the nearest staff member and ask if they have any idea if anyone here speaks Japanese, but decided otherwise after thinking it over it came off as sketchy.

So I instead went over to the shelves and searched for a book that had Japanese Kanjis on them, after a while at not finding one, one of the staff members came up to him to ask if I was in need of assistance.

Deciding to take the easy way he asked if they had any books on Japanese and if they know of a person that speaks that language.

The man blinked at confusion at my question, though before he could ask, I continued on, "you see in my work place, I was assigned to work with a man from the East, and to make the entire process easier I decided to take up learning a few words of theirs to smoothen the process," as I have a tired smile, I would like to think I was decent at acting slightly sleep deprived.

The confusion on the man's face evaporated, as he let out a "ahh, I see, understood, here follow me if you would, I have a book you could look through, and as for someone with the language…afraid the only one that goes here would be mister cardina, he…isn't a very polite fellow," his face scrunched up in displeasure as he walked down several shelves of books as I followed.

Hearing this I happily thought, 'oh wonderful, chances are if offered the money, he would just take it' it was a little weird how he was looking forward to meeting a stick ass.

I figured that I didn't actually need to give him an legal dollar, all I would have to do is show him the 20 dollar bill without him getting a decent look at it and he would fall for it, in theory.

The library was decently big, not nearly the biggest I have seen, but everything was so tightly compact in here, trying to fit as much books as possible in an square inch.

Tracing a finger against every book at his height in the shelf row we stopped at, the man paused on one and pulled it out and handing it to me, "here you are, and as for the man, he should still be at the far corner sitting on a table, deep into his research," he pointed to the direction of my target, giving a smile I offer my thanks and with that the staff member left me be.

Walking over to get a good look at the man, seeing him sitting next to a pile of paperwork spread throughout the desk, I made sure that none of the staff or other customers were around before I proceeded with my plan.

I left the book at one of the tables by me, I walked around several other furniture and made my way over to cardina, in a somewhat imbalanced manner, trying to imitate a drunken man.

Discreetly in my pocket dimension I created a paper contract on what will occur if agreed to by a other party.

Coming up behind him, him fully ignoring me, I harshly bumped into his chair, causing him to give me a scathing look at me, harshly saying "watch it".

Before he turned back, I wildly swung my head to the side to face him, and said, "sorry MAan, I didn't mean to, hey! You wouldn't happen to speak Japanese mister," I say in a long drawn out manner, in fact I think I came out sounding high than actually drunk, but it would work well either way.

The man's eye twitched, and just before he once more tried to turn around and try to ignore me, I raised my hand that held a folded 20 bucks, though you could only see the 20 on it.

Instantly his eyes landed on the it with wide eyes, which made sense, money was a lot more valuable before inflation, "if you give me your knowledge on the Japanese language I give you my money," letting out a goofy smile and chuckle.

The man smirked, and agreed, "sure, take it, I'm sure you will put it to great use," and took the dollar, obviously thinking what I was asking for isn't possible.

As he did, I thanked him and made my way slowly to the corner, "sweet maaan", as the man chuckled and turned back around to his papers.

As I was out of sight, I lived back to the first location I came across in this world, the last thing I heard was an angry, "THE HELL IS THIS?!".

And then I arrived back to the grassfiled under the moon.

Suddnely I felt the contract in my pocket dimension shine brightly gold, as it was…filled with something, something that I suspected was an entire language.

Honestly this was a lot easier than I imagined.

I Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.

For the convenient gain of the Japanese language, I wasn’t entirely sure if the people would actually give a shit in a mini arc for the search of a speaker of a Japanese speaker that is in America.

So I went ahead and made it convenient
