Chapter 138: Emptiness

Time gradually ticked by until the day gave way for the night. It had been a busy day with the four newest occupants of the main palace settling down in their various rooms and getting used to their new environment.

While Mary and Ginger familiarized themselves with their new work schedule, which basically involved taking care of and ensuring Ellie and Nicholas lacked nothing, Ellie and Nicholas had enough time to catch up on the days they had spent apart, at the same time, exploring the palace.

Night finally came and the palace went back to being quiet as everyone retired to their rooms.

"Thank you so much, doctor Ken. I appreciate all you've done." Ellie expressed gratitude to the doctor, who was about to leave the room after administering medication to Nicholas, and waiting until the boy fell asleep.
