"What are you insinuating?" Mary asked with a frown directed at Amanda, while Ellie continued to shake and tap Storm's shoulder worriedly, ignoring the others.

She could see that he was still breathing but he wasn't responding to anything. His body felt so cold in contrast to how it was when she left him a few minutes ago. What exactly happened to him?

"Shut your mouth, partner in crime. You think you can cover up for your sins?" Amanda fired at Mary and the latter became increasingly irritated about what the former was saying. From experience, she already knew that the tone of voice, the look, and the initial statement were accusatory, and she wanted to quench it immediately but it seemed Amanda was bent on keeping it up.

"Seth!" Ellie called out, alarmed and it didn't take Seth a second to show up. His eyes immediately widened at the sight of Storm lying unmoving on the ground and he rushed toward Ellie.
