Chapter 30: 30
Shadow man: We ain't here for fun and games asshat this is just a job fortunately we're already done
Before we could ask what he meant a loud explosion went off. I was certain that there were more pressing issues going on but all I could think of was how familiar they seemed. I know that they were nothing major but I know I saw them somewhere before.
The fight got started Iron Man was facing off against the living shadow who kinda reminds me of Mr. Fantastic the way he stretched himself. Captain America was against some kid who seemed to be able to create weapons made of energy. Banner was benched because... well Hulk we want to capture them not put them in the grave. So I was fighting with a harpy-looking girl and a knockoff hydro man girl.
If it was just the Harpy look alike this fight would have already been over but because of the water girl who can manipulate water and ice, this is taking longer than should. Fortunately, Captain America makes short work of his opponent quickly knocking him unconscious. Catching the bird off guard he flings his shield knocking her unconscious. Upon seeing this water scoops up the bird and runs to the shadow man as he opens a shadow portal escaping with the two women and leaving the other guy behind.
Steve: This doesn't make sense if they could easily escape why did they need to fight?
"They were stalling for time so that whatever they blew up couldn't be recovered"
Tony: Jarvis what did they hit
Jarvis: First they broke into one of the Shield offices taking a few crates of kryptonite and the samples of Bane's venom before going to another office I don't have information about before blowing it up
Tony: Jarvis why don't know about that office?
Fury: That's because I felt that it was best to have at least one room where its digital tendrils couldn't reach
Appearing out of nowhere with Natasha and Thor at his side was Fury. Honestly, it should have been obvious considering it was directly in the Avengers tower. The other culprit it could have been was Hydra but as bold as they were I doubt they would do something like this as they were trying to lay low.
Tony: So what was inside that office?
Banner: And who were those kids?
Fury: Inside that office was what we knew about the organization called The Light and its possible members. As for the kids I think we should ask the one they left behind pretending to be unconscious
The teen's eyes snapped open hearing Fury as he glared at us but didn't make a move. It was clear that he was definitely not going to cooperate even though he was surrounded.
Natasha: He is or should I say was part of a small-time organization called the meta breed. It's a group that consists of metahumans known as bang babies named after an event known simply as the big bang. Recently Groups like the U-men have taken a keen interest in them and are trying to get a hold of the gas that created them in the first place.
Thor: So we know the villains behind this incident then we should storm their base and hold them accountable for their actions!
Tony: Easier said than done buddy he said that all we knew about them was located in that room which was blown up. So unless Furry had a backup somewhere else I think we're going to have to start from scratch.
Steve: Well not completely from scratch we have the kid here as a lead
Natasha: I wouldn't put too much there as they were hired like mercenaries to do a job so after dropping off whatever they stole and didn't keep for themselves they probably were cut loose if they weren't killed. Considering that they chose to leave him behind instead of trying to take him with them I suspect he is worth even less as more than likely the information he does have is now probably useless.
Tony: So all we got is an Abandoned stray puppy
Bang baby: I wasn't ABANDONDED!
