Chapter 185: Afterword
Here it is. After more than a year of companionship, a year of writing, and a year full of stories, it comes down to its ending. "I will live a better life!" was something that I spontaneously thought. Before "A Foreigner's Chat Group" was finished, I was already writing it. Before I knew it, I already wrote more than twenty chapters, around 45,000 words in total. Times flies that fast.
It was a story of someone who wanted to live a better life (just like the title states). I chose Galahad purely because of coincidental reasons, but the more I wrote about him, the more he fitted into the story I made. He did not live his life fully. He was basically aimless. Though, that aimlessness was reduced to a certain degree when he became the knight of Artoria. His death, however, made it open to interpretations (i.e., fanfiction).
I have to reveal that part of the reason why I wrote this story is to not write a self-insert, but to write about a person who wanted to live that kind of life. Protecting loved ones, becoming a hero, mastering untold magics... those things held a certain attraction for me. What I could not do, he could. Thus, I could say that writing this fic has a bigger influence than my past fic. If my first fic taught me how to see colorful stories and write about them, the second fic taught me about development. I do hope that it could influence some (even if all it did was to relieve some kind of boredom/slump).
Anyways, it is hard to part ways. It was the same as when I wrote the final chapter of my first fic. I had to write for days just to settle that final chapter. The same went for now. This final chapter took me nearly four days, which contains around 4,500 words. Just like what I did for the first chapter, we started and ended in a bang.
To all who accompanied me up until now, I thank you. There are times when I feel quite guilty to my patrons due to the messed-up update schedule. That may have to be changed if I work in the future. Either ways, "I will live a better life!" reached nearly the same word count as "A Foreigner's Chat Group" with around 440,000 words. This is not too bad of an achievement.
Thank you for being with me up until now. It is sad, but this marks the end of my second fic. As for Nobu and his company, it is up to you to think what would happen. It is generally a reunion with his friends and lovers and of course, the unfortunate lemons that I did not have any chance to write. I was practicing, but I did not have much confidence to write lemon chapters up until now. When I already accustomed myself, I lost the chance to actually write one.
As for everyone still here, I will have to tell you in advance. I will be writing a third fic. Yes, a third one. It will be up tomorrow at latest.
If you are wondering as to what fic it was, it will be the sum of worlds that I did not have the chance to explore/fully explore within "I will live a better life!". Do expect that it will be about Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Star Rail before coming to other worlds (some of which may come up as unexpected). The setting is mainly in the Previous Era (Fire MOTH) type of fic.
And yes, if you are wondering if there would be lemons, do expect some there.
For the third and final time, I would like to thank everyone here. I hope that when my passion to write ensues, there will still be people at my side. Here's hoping to a good third year of writing, and as I would always say after all author's notes:
