Mereoleona stood at the bedside, her fierce gaze fixed upon her unconscious son. Her hand clenched into a tight fist, knuckles white with frustration and worry.
They really dared to touch her cub. When she saw Asher for the first time, she already vowed that anyone who harms him would feel the wraith of her flames. She doesn't care who harms her son; the only thing she knows is that the one behind this will surely pay.
"Big sister...." Fuegoleon entered the room to check on Asher. To his surprise, Mereoleona finally arrives.
"So it's the Eye Of The Midnight Sun,..... " Mereoleona remarked, her gaze fixed on Asher.
Fuegoleon shut his eyes and let out a heavy sigh. He couldn't help but feel responsible for everything that had transpired. The missing necklace weighed heavily on his mind, as it suggested that the enemy had targeted it. He couldn't shake the thought that he should be the one lying there, not his nephew Asher.
"Don't sweat it," Mereoleona said calmly as she looked at Fuegoleon.
She knows what her foolish brother was thinking. He was probably blaming himself for everything.
"I apologize for not taking care of Asher carefully. I should have known the enemy's goal." Although his face was stoic, his concern and self-blame were evident in his eyes.
"As I mentioned earlier, don't let it trouble you. My son wouldn't wish for you to bear any blame. Besides, he's my child, and I'm confident he'll return even stronger than before."
"I know... You should rest, big sister. You just arrived; I'll watch over Asher," Fuegoleon said, putting his hand on Mereoleona's shoulder.
"No. I'm okay. I need some time to think. Hey, Fuegoleon... Let me be the temporary captain of Crimson Lion."
....
Noelle stood before her captain, her expression grave and determined. Her current priority was her own growth; she yearned to become stronger, driven by a burning desire to avenge Asher.
"Hey Kid, What's with the serious face? You look like you're going to war all alone," Yami said while sitting on his chair, reading a news paper.
"Captain Yami... Help me get stronger. Teach me that swordsmanship of yours!" Noelle clenched her fist and looked at Yami with a determined face.
"..." Yami looked at Noelle as if he were looking at a different person. This Miss Royalty really asked him to teach her?
"Nah, I ain't up for that. Figure it out on your own," he responded, his expression one of casual indifference.
Noelle was left stunned by his words: "Come on! At least give me a crash course! You've got nothing better to do!"
"I'm busy taking a dump. You don't know how hard that is to take a dump," he said as he flipped the pages of the news paper.
Noelle ground her teeth and balled her hand into a fist, but soon let out a sigh, her gaze turning to her captain with a pleading expression. "Please... I need your help to become stronger."
"..."
Yami sighed, folding the newspaper shut. "Alright, don't make it seem like I'm picking on you. Your brother would definitely have my head if he found out."
Noelle's face lit up. "Great! Let's start now!"
"No, we're starting tomorrow." Yami shook his head.
Then he looked at Noelle menacingly and said, "I will make sure to drill everything inside your head."
.....
"Captain Charlotte..." Mimosa's gaze rested upon Charlotte, her expression resolute.
"What is it, Golden Dawn?" Charlotte's gaze remained steady on Mimosa, her demeanor composed. Her thoughts were a whirlwind, consumed by worries for Asher.
"I apologize if I'm intruding, but you're my best option for help. My captain's swamped, and you're the only one I can turn to," she admitted, her fingers nervously playing with each other.
"What is it?" She said, slightly interested.
"Please train me. Help me get stronger," Mimosa said determinedly.
Charlotte found herself momentarily taken aback. The audacity of this young woman asking for her guidance was astonishing, yet she couldn't help but admire the girl's courage to approach a captain like herself.
"Why the sudden urge to become stronger?" Charlotte inquired, her gaze unwaveringly fixed upon Mimosa.
"To avenge Asher, I already see him as a little brother. I want to avenge him."
"Oh?" Charlotte raised an eyebrow.
"You're the only one I think can help me. So please, I'm begging you. Help me get stronger." She looked at Charlotte nervously, not knowing if she would agree or not.
Charlotte let out a sigh and turned her attention to Mimosa. "Considering my desire to seek justice for Asher, I'll lend you a hand. We shall avenge him together."
Mimosa's eyes sparkled with gratitude as she heard Charlotte's decision. "Thank you so much, Captain Charlotte!"
Charlotte nodded and said, "I won't tolerate a lazy student; if I see you slacking off, leave my sight immediately. I won't waste my time on someone who doesn't want to learn."
"Don't worry, Captain Charlotte, I will work hard!" Mimosa said with determination.
"Good, we shall start tomorrow morning; rest for now." Charlotte placed her hand on Mimosa's shoulder.
Mimosa nods in understanding. "Don't worry, Captain Charlotte. I will meet you tomorrow morning."
.............
"What is it, Leopold?" Mereoleona looked at Leopold curiously.
"Big sister..." Leopold clenched his fist as he looked at his big sister.
Leopold's heart weighed heavy with guilt, mirroring his older brother Fuegoleon's sentiments. He couldn't shake the blame he placed on himself for what happened to Asher. He berated himself for not being there to protect him when the enemies struck. Leopold regretted not being stronger, as he felt he should have fought alongside Asher instead of wasting his time battling lifeless adversaries. The burden of responsibility weighed heavily on his young shoulders, fueling his determination to grow stronger and protect those he cares about in the future.
Leopold's gaze met Mereoleona's with unwavering determination. "Take me to where you train Asher," he stated firmly. "I want to become stronger."
When Mereoleona heard Leopold's statements, she couldn't help but grin.
Mereoleona chuckled, amused by Leopold's resolute demeanor. "You're showing the spirit of a true Crimson Lion! Alright then, but..." Her gaze turned intense as she stared at him. "Don't you dare regret this choice."
"YES BIG SISTER!"
