Bo Saixi witnesses the sea gods trial rune appear which signifies the end of the 7th trial and proclaims the details of the 8th trial.
"Before I begin to tell the details of the 8th trial, I must ask if you have a complete set of spirit bones?"
"I do, including an external spirit bone." he says and summons the drake skull onto his head.
"I see, Then the this trial shall follow the procedure of the Seven Emotions Test. The original form is the Six Desires Test but since you have an external bone, it has to be the variant form."
She continues to go into detail about the original form of a true sea gods successor.
"People had seven emotions and six desires, this was the basics of human nature, unavoidable. Nobody was an exception. "(chapter 314 LN)
Xue Tie learns that the primary difficulty of this trial was based around the sea gods energy in the test confusing the test taker, especially since they are under the influence of the illusions themselves. The purpose is to not get lost in the emotions or fall into temptations.
"Now do you understand how the test works?" Bo Saixi asks once she finished the elementary explanation of the tests without revealing its inner workings. Xue Tie nods and says.
"Yes, I also recognize that a sacrifice is necessary to have the sea gods' energy flow into the array to activate it. But as you already said, I am not pursuing to be the next sea god. As such, I need to modify the array for my own purposes through my death rune so that I can create the Death Gods Armaments" He says with such clarity that Bo Saixi almost makes the assumption that he has seen the future or something.
"Correct"
"Very well, lead the way so that I may get to work. Ill sponsor all the necessary energy to have the array function too."
They both walk to the central island area that houses the 7 pillars, the pyramid and other trial based resources. The high priestess simply stops in the middle of the entire area and says, "This is the location of the array. Once you stand here, ill provide a bit of the energy to reveal the array so that you may get to work. I hope you do not change too much of it so that it does not function for other would be trial goers that reach this far. This trial is afterall, instrumental in selecting the next Sea God." She warns.
Xue Tie nods and states "I only plan to modify it so that the energy is not limited to the sea gods divine energy but can also accept mine. On the other hand, the provided energy should serve as the basis for the armaments themselves, this detracts from the need for your god to have to manually craft the armaments during the procedure."
"Though I could be wrong since I only have an understanding of whatever you just told me a few moments ago" He clarifies his uncertainty.
With the plan set up, Bo Saixi rouses her spirit power into the array and Xue Tie then begins to analyze it.
"Hmmm. energy conduits, no touchy. Emotion list, no touchy. Ah there's the energy type limiter. Snap. Now where's the next thing? Damn, the 6 desires test is the same array but retrofitted to suit those who have external spirit bones as well as a full set of spirit bones. Thats a hassle. No, no, no, no, no, yeeeessss. Found the sea god armament limiter. Reroute it to be based on the provided energy type. Hmmmmmm, hmm, hmmmm, oops…..oh well it's not that bad, just a bit annoying" Xue Tie browses around the array and makes comments on it as he goes about sensing the various 'life' in it. He adjusts the energy type limit and fixes the armament creation procedure so that it's based on the energy given to the array.
This makes it suitable for any and all gods to use to create their own types of armaments. He has no idea if they have their own variant of the array since Bibi Dong never told him anything of the sort and the Sea Gods island is the only one that was canonically described. Unfortunately in his attempt to modify the array, he had boosted the energy demand. If given enough time, he could fix it up but it's not as if it's a big deal since it can still only take divine energy which is much more pure than spirit energy. If what Xue Tie has with his deathcore is the same with most other gods then they easily have enough energy to fulfill the requirements.
He quickly explains to Bo Saixi what he did and she nods in understanding, though she prays that his modifications don't anger the sea god in it's next true usage. She gives him permission to begin. As such, Xue Tie gathers a large amount of death energy in his hand, condensing it down into a pearl after spending half his current energy. This would take him 3 hours to recover but is more than enough to serve as a nuke in terms of the destructiveness of the energy if released uncontrollably.
He uses the Eye of Xue to assist in providing him spirit energy so that it may serve as fuel to accelerate his death energy. As such, he recovers in an hour and once he is back at his optimal state, he sets the pearl in the energy storage divet of the array.
Xue Tie takes a deep breath as he activates the death rune on his forehead which channels the death pearl to activate the formation. It quickly scans his body to find that he has 7 bones and thus it adjusts to begin the 7 emotions test of the array.
Xue Tie closes his eyes with his arms spread, allowing himself to drift asleep into the comfort of the array. Anyone else that would have used the sea gods energy would have been under great pressure of the divine energy but this is HIS energy and thus serves more akin to a soft and warm blanket that covers his body.
The 8th trial, The Seven Emotions Test begins with….

Sorry for the cliffhanger here. I barely got this chapter out before going to sleep and i did not want to ruin my timeline streak as i like to keep it even…even if the month ends on an odd number. Ill be unhappy about it later
