Chapter 170: TTW Chapter 170: Esdeath Arrived!
Two girls looked shocked; it was their first time witnessing Lin Yi getting angry.
"Roar!"
The Hekatonkheires charged forward, opening its wide bloodshot mouth, attempting to swallow him whole.
Lin Yi raised his sword 'Jörmungandr' high and decisively slashed down.
"Buzz!"
All the surrounding sounds distorted at that moment, making everyone feel as if they were deaf.
The blinding flare forced Sheele and Mine to shield their eyes, unable to look directly.
The flare, resembling a tornado, engulfed the Hekatonkheires.
Seryu was frightened too. Her reaction was a beat slower, but in a split second, she regained her determination and thrust her blade towards Lin Yi's chest.

He simply reached out, grabbing her wrist, and with a powerful jerk, snapped the blade.

"She's finally here."
Lin Yi murmured, sensing some movement, and slowly looked up.
In the sky, atop a huge red dragon-type creature, there was a woman with gorgeous silver-blue long hair, deep icy blue eyes, delicate and perfect features, a regal oval face, crystal clear fair skin, a proud figure, and an imposing aura. She held an iron chain in her hand, flying overhead.
This scene, if witnessed by others, would terrify many.
"I was just patrolling tonight on a whim," the woman with the silver-blue hair said lightly. "But I didn't expect to find some entertainment."
Her voice fell, and the excitement in her eyes intensified. She suddenly jumped from thousands of meters above.
With a loud crash, she landed, causing dust and smoke to rise.
This silver-blue-haired woman drew the sword from her waist. It was a stunning icy-blue longsword. Danger gleamed in her eyes as she swung the sword, clearing all the dust around her.
The surrounding flames were also dispersed.
But when their eyes met, the silver-blue-haired woman looked startled, then understanding dawned.
"So it's you. Right, you are the man I've taken a liking to. It makes sense."
The newcomer was none other than Esdeath.
Lin Yi had already sensed her presence, noting that she had dealt with the northern tribes and had just returned to the imperial city.
The next moment, Esdeath charged towards him.
Numerous ice shards appeared around Esdeath. With a wave of her hand, the shards rushed towards Lin Yi. Lin Yi dodged them calmly, occasionally knocking away ice spikes he couldn't avoid. Suddenly, a massive ice shard appeared in front of him. It was too large to evade, so Lin Yi lifted his blade and split it in two with a single strike. Following closely was Esdeath, her sword already in motion.
Lin Yi dodged quickly, moving behind Esdeath and drawing his blade, Jörmungandr. The ground shattered beneath him.
Esdeath countered Lin Yi's flame strike with ice, her attack missing its mark.
Their battle intensified.
Esdeath's swift sword aimed for Lin Yi's head, but he slightly sidestepped, avoiding her blow. He then performed a backward somersault to dodge the ice spikes she shot with her left hand. Landing, he stamped the ground causing cracks to form, then charged straight at Esdeath with a punch.
With a bang, his punch hit an ice wall she formed in front of her.
The ice wall crumbled, and Lin Yi's left fist followed.
Another punch hit Esdeath's sword, causing a numb sensation in her hand, nearly making her drop the weapon. Lin Yi then delivered an upward kick.
Lin Yi probably understood why Esdeath started fighting without a warning. One reason might be his sudden departure, and another was to test how far Lin Yi had progressed.
Upon realizing Lin Yi had other moves, Esdeath grew furious. How dare he hold back during their fight!
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Still, she was his woman, and he was in the wrong first.
After all, leaving someone right after spending the night with them was not justifiable. Now he stood against her, although Esdeath didn't really care about Lin Yi's stance.
Lin Yi couldn't go all out. Esdeath's power was strong, but she had a fatal flaw. Her ice-controlling ability was indeed unparalleled in this world.
However, the coldness of the ice she controlled wasn't cold enough. Only when she burst forth with her full power could she unleash the freezing temperature's strength.
