Chapter 34: Vishal vs Red Hood
The outlaws decided to have a few days off. Copperhead escaped and the whereabouts are unknown. They decided to roam the streets and they wanted to asses how bad the conditions are in Gotham.
But when they roamed through previous crime alley and other places which are under Amarnath group of Industries. They were astonished especially Jason because even when he was away for 3 months he never expected to see such humoungous changes.
The streets, buildings and the areas resembled a futuristic town. With fresh air due to the new trees on either side of the roads and the roads cleaned of any trash or filth.
"Unimaginable." said Roy.
"You can say that again. Street Lights running both solar panels and other sources of energy. If my old man put some thought into making such changes then this would be the real change." said Red Hood looking everywhere.
They saw the security Corps with their black suits with combat armors and guns patrolling diligently. The adults and children moving through streets without any fear and children running after one another to play.
When they went out of the areas which are not under the control of the company they saw changes but they are not as drastic as the company's areas.
They saw people talking about the "Vigilante" who came and wiped out some of the powerful rogues and most of the filth in Black Gate.
"Look like you have some competition Little Bird." said Roy.
"Let's find out what really happened when I was away." said Jason as he went on enquiring about the events.
When he heard about the course of events he couldn't stop laughing. He never expected someone to trick Gordon and Batman into sending him into Black Gate where he massacred most irredeeemable scumbags there leaving others alive.
But none of them knew that the guy not only beat Batman but the Justice League too. There are wanted posters of the guy put by GCPD and the League.
"They are afraid of the guy. Many criminals have left the city in fear based on the information I got from a 18 year old guy." said Starfire.
"So, someone did a great job cleaning the filth. I'd say that's a great job." said Artemis.
"Yeah. No wonder my old man and the league are on hunt for this guy. He must have terrified them." said Jason with a smile.
"Are you up for a bet? How many more days will the remaining survive if they were to break out?" said Arsenal.
"Nice bet but we can only do it after a break out occurs." said Kori.
"Then let's wait for the time and wait for our guy to take them out." said Roy.
"You and your bets. The situations always turn in your favor." said Artemis scoffing.
"I don't understand why is their company not developing these areas?" asked Kori.
"Vishal said that an agreement is made with the city hall to patrol the specified areas while their companies can be in whole of Gotham. Since those areas are under their control mostly they could make the changes they wanted." replied Jason.
"Due to the corps being advanced in training, weaponry and discipline the criminals don't mess with them because they can take the guys non lethally without any collateral damage as quickly as they can." said Jason.
"Dude. That's a great idea. Why didn't Ollie or Bruce think about it?" said Roy astonished.
"They are interested in bungy jumping all over the buildings rather than put the efforts towards bringing the change. It's not surprising to me." said Jason.
"Mystical Punisher. He is a mystery but he is the one who laid the path for change. I can never forget that guy." said Jason.
They all raised their heads one hearing the name. Though it is a taboo in hero circles the groups like Outlaws admired that guy trying to change the system by exposing the real truth.
"Let us go somewhere to eat and go back to the mansion." said Roy.
"Sure." said Kori.
They talked, joked and laughed along the way to the hotel owned by Amarnath group. They ordered food which was served hot and it tasted far better. The service and ambience were top notch.
It has been months since they had proper food to eat.
"Extraordinary. I didn't think the men's world have such delicious cuisine." said Artemis eating food to her heart's content.
They came back to the mansion at night before 10.
"So, how is your tour?" asked Vishal as he sat with Ivy.
Jason took out the gun but Vishal raised his hand and said "She is my guest. I've been talking with her regarding a project. She means no harm."
"Why are you sheltering her?" asked Roy.
"Do you think she is insane? I don't think so. She deserves a chance correct her ways. She is not irredeemable like Joker or Scarecrow." said Vishal.
Jason was skeptical but he put back his gun.
He turned to Ivy and said "Sorry about that. Now if you would look at this land."
Ivy who had a glare turned her attention to the photos of land.
"What are you doing?" asked Roy.
"I have brought few acres of land outside the city when I estabilished the power plant. There is still plenty of land left. I intend to give her a place where she can grow her plants and trees along with a greenhouse and home for her stay with her plants." said Vishal.
"When we first met I was trying to hide as I was injured. He cured me and gave me a place to stay. He told that he would increase the tree plantations in Gotham. He kept his word.
He also asked me to come here today because he wanted me to be away from the city with my babies and he would make sure that I am not troubled by unwanted people since it is land." said Ivy.
"The remaining land will be used for producing crops for the populace." said Vishal.
"Is that land fertile enought? I don't think so." said Starfire.
"The new fertilizer brought by the company can grow plants quickly without any side effects." said Vishal.
They sat on the sofas without talking and observed their conversation. The two of them went through several photos when she fixed on a land away from Arkham.
"Very well. I'll make preparations to build a greenhouse and normal house for you to live there." said Vishal extending his hand.
She shook it without hesitation and left the house without caring about the outlaws.
"Are you sure you're okay with this?" asked Jason skeptically.
"We can stop crime this way too Jason. Not everything requires guns or batarangs." said Vishal.
Jason became silent. "I can see through you Jason. The anger clouds you in the middle of every fight right?" asked Vishal.
"How did you know?" asked Jason surprised.
"You're angry at your old man for not bringing justice when you died. You wanted him to kill joker. But that's a fools errand." said Vishal.
"Why?" shouted Jason with anger.
"I may not be as close to him as you but I can say his fear of losing himself is far bigger than you think." replied Vishal.
"I never asked him to take out other rogues. Just that lunatic Joker. Just him." said Jason.
Vishal nodded and replied "Let me present you in much philosophical way."
Jason narrowed his eyes.
"Do you know why you kept losing against your old man?" asked Vishal.
Jason did not know why he couldn't defeat Batman.
"Batman's mind is powerful weapon. Even in very drastic situations his mind can be at peace looking at things rationally rather than give into his emotions.
His mind is too orderly and his presence himself is like an agent of order." said Vishal.
They all looked at his words with enthusiasm.
"Do you know why he makes mistakes while dealing with Joker?" asked Vishal.
"He is unpredictable." said Jason.
"That's only one aspect. The truth is Joker's mind is filled with extreme chaos, the complete opposite of Batman's mind and presence. He is an agent of chaos." said Vishal with sharp eyes.
"Those two are the two extremes. One with an extreme sense of morality to see life as precious and to other extreme we have someone who sees human life as a Joke which can be taken and has a blatant disgregard for it." said Vishal.
Jason was startled as he never saw things in such a way.
"What would happen when an agent of order takes a life?" questioned Vishal.
They had very uncomfortable expression as they are being lectured by a 15 year old with advanced thinking.
They became silent for 5 minutes when Roy asked "What about Mystical Punisher and Vigilante?"
Vishal smiled and said "They're a mixture of order and chaos. They are a chaos to the negative elements in the society while bringing a change for positive tomorrow. It's rare to find such type of guys."
They could not refute the points.
"I've removed the affects of the pit but you're emotions are still in disarrary. I'll change it for your own good. Come to the backyard tomorrow at 8 o clock. I'll fight you and make you see your mistakes." said Vishal wearing the coat and going upstairs leaving all of them in daze.
