Chapter 36: Trafalgar D Water Law
Once again Brook was in the sky, using geppo to maneuver through the sky.
After having a friendly conversation along with some food with the children, he told them his real purpose, which was to find the user of the devil fruit Op Op no Mi to check his body.
After communicating for a while, he somehow managed to convince Reiju to navigate the compass.
After a day of traveling through the sky. He was finally about to reach swallow island to once again traumatize another kid.
After some time, he could finally see the shape of the shallow island which unsurprisingly looked like a swallow.
It was a bit troublesome to reach the island due to the patroling marine ships in the vicinity.
He didn't know what exactly the Marines were doing but decided to ignore them for the current time to not raise awareness of the Marines.
After landing on a low island he spread his observation to Haki but there wasn't any sign of the child in his range, there were mostly animals.
So, leaving the children alone for a while, in what seemed like an old cottage that he had found during his search. He started to once again search the island.
But, despite that, he couldn't find Law.
Well, there were too many people, for him to exactly pinpoint Law.
So, he had to jump-scare a few people to search for law.
After searching for a few hours, he was finally able to find Law, who was in the wilderness fighting against a giant polar bear.
After finding Law he observed what he was doing, law was adorned in a fur hat and a white clock he seemed to be carrying an ordinary sword.
Looking at this Brook spoke," Ah shit, here we go again." and went to convince Law to join him.
As the law was using his 'room' ability which had a very small diameter currently.
Brook jumped on the polar bear's head smashing it into a paste causing its brain to splatter in all directions.
As the blood and brain matter scattered law stood there in a momentary daze, but as soon as he saw an unfamiliar person in front of him he jumped back creating distance between him and the unknown person.
Looking at the vigilant Law Brook spoke," So are you the person who ate the Ope Ope no mi?"
Hearing that law became even more vigilant, and his face which was already serious got even deeper.
looking at that reaction Brook spoke in an amused tone."Ah! So you are indeed the user of that devil fruit aren't you"
Listening to that, Law immediately, started using his ability, he spread his fingers in a sphere and said "Room". After that sound was heard Law took out his sword and slashed at Brook.
As Brook was watching, Law uses his ability to cut his body, but he didn't intervene and let Law use his ability.
As laws attack landed his upper body was slashed causing it to slowly fall on the snowy ground.
As Law removed his room expecting that he had defeated his enemy, Brook spoke casually." your ability only works on the physical body, and not on the soul huh."
As the law was looked at the clocked person who was severed into two halves, the fallen torso emitted a green gas-like substance and connected to the torso, this was followed by the body floating and reconnecting with his lower half.
As Law was watching the person was whole once again standing in front of him unharmed.
He started to feel scared, unlike people who didn't know much, by staying with Donquixote pirates, he knew about various powers such as devil fruit and haki.
So looking at his adversary he immediately understood that he was a devil's fruit user.
Law knew that he couldn't defeat him because when the unknown person had smashed the bear's head, he couldn't even see the person coming.
So, being cautious, Law decided to take a passive approach and observe the unknown person.
Acting as if he let his vigilance down he asked, how did you know, I was the user of that devil fruit?
"I didn't know you were the user of the devil fruit Ope Ope no mi. I just jumped on every person I could find on this island and asked the same question I asked you."
"And all of them were either scared or became confused."
"But your reaction was, it was very suspicious, wasn't it? On top of that, you were using some kind of ability as well, making it even more suspicious."
Hearing that, Law felt silent and asked carefully, so what do you want?"
"Are you a moron or pretending to be one? Isn't it obvious it's your devil fruit powers?"
"what if I refused?" Law asked in a very threatening tone.
"Ah! About that, I don't think you should refuse my offer."
