Chapter 6: Freedom

"Julian! I'm here for your blood today!" Elyse tapped Julian's shoulder, with a smile on her face. Julian jumped as Elyse touched his shoulder.

"Ah!"

"It's just me, Julian. Wow, you never respond like that. You alright?" Elyse asked, genuinely worried.

"I'm alright. Just a bit... tired."

You couldn't blame Julian, though. For the past week, every night he would be taken to the master's room for... services.

"Now would be a bad time to ask for your blood, right?" she asked. Although she had a joking tone if Julian said yes, she would have instantly started to drink his blood.

Julian contemplated on it. He was in deep thought until he finally pulled his shirt which could be mistaken for a rag (which all the slaves wore), revealing his neck.

"Go ahead."

Elyse had a shocked expression, but she quickly leaned over. She stopped midway, noticing something.

"Julian? What's with all these scars?" she asked, worried. She scanned his body.

"I tripped and fell onto one of the training swords, that's all."

Julian brushed off her concern. Despite the false reassurance, she still couldn't help but feel worried for Julian.

"Did Teoloh- did the master do this? I've known her for a while and she's always treated the slaves right!" she said.

"I already told you. I fell onto the training swords-"

Before Julian could finish his sentence, Elyse hugged him, rubbing the back of his head.

"Julian. You should stop keeping secrets from me. We're supposed to be friends. You can tell me anything."

Julian held onto her tightly, hugging her back. Tears trickled from his face.

"I'm weak, Elyse. I can't do anything at all. I couldn't even defend myself against her. I'll never be strong!" he whined, with tears in his eyes.

"You shouldn't be worried about something like that. Although you lack physical strength, mana, and fighting skill, and you're castless, that's alright."

"That isn't alright! I'm talentless!"

"Well, you're really charming! That'll help you out in life!"

"Really? You aren't saying this just because you want my blood?" Julian asked.

"Nope. You're quite cute, you know? Much to my liking~!" she teased.

The teasing was obviously effective, as Julian quickly became flustered. He wasn't used to compliments, especially from girls.

"Sh-shut up, you cougar."

. . . . .

"So, spit it out, Julian!" Ailen nagged. Julian was in a room with Oscar and Veind.

"I've figured it out. The shackles around us, are casts. These casts are deactivated when the master feels... a great amount of pleasure."

"How could you have figured this out?" Veind asked, curious.

"It's...it's just a hypothesis," Julian looked to the side, averting his gaze.

"Okay then. Well, how are you going to please the master? Don't tell me..."

"I'm not... I'm not gonna do what you think I'm gonna do, alright? Jeez, I'll figure something out."

"Alright! You really aren't as useless as I thought!" Ailen patted Julian's back.

"Good luck, Julian," Oscar said, nodding. Julian saw a light smile on Oscar's face. That motivated him a lot more.

"Once you all notice the chains fading away, that's when you strike, alright?" Julian continued.

"Alright!" they all said in unison.

. . . . .

. . . .

. . .

. .

.

"Wow, Julian. Usually, you're supposed to come here at night, you know? But I'm perfectly fine with you coming now, hehe!" Teoloh said, with a smile on her face.

"..."

"Now, kneel. And crawl towards me."

Julian listened to her command quickly, dropping onto his knees and crawling. He still had a fear of Teoloh, due to all the abuse. So he didn't hesitate to follow her command.

As Julian reached Teoloh, she grabbed him by the hair, looking at him. She had only lust in her eyes.

"I'm sure you know what to do, right, boy?"l

..

.

"I think that'll be... good for the day, Julian. You can go off, now."

"Teoloh, do you seriously think I'll be okay with just one time?" Julian asked. He pinned her onto the floor. Teoloh looked at him, with fear in her eyes.

Julian kept on thinking about his hypothesis. What he had done earlier must've not been enough to… well.. you know. So he would have to try a lot harder.

"Julian, what are you talking about? Seriously, stop messing around before I punish you-"

-

"W-Wait! I just got used to- Haa!" she let out her voice.

. . . . .

. . . .

. . .

. .

.

"Julian... It's already been the fourth time... but at this rate, I'll…"

A loud boom was heard.

"Jeez, I'm glad my hypothesis was correct. This all would've been for nothing."

He stood up out and walked out of the room. Julian looked around, seeing the destruction all around. It made him satisfied, that his plan worked.

"First things first, I have to get out of here."

Julian found the route clear of the least people and the least obstacles. He moved carefully, avoiding as many people as possible. That was until he met another slave.

"Where do you think you're going?" the slave asked. He towered over Julian, with his arms crossed. His veins bulged despite him not even flexing. That was simply how strong he was.

"Huh? I-I'm escaping, obviously!" Julian replied. His voice was shaky and his palms started to sweat. You could see the fear in his eyes.

"Hm. Well, I've always wanted to wreak havoc. Now that nothing can stop me, it's perfect!" the slave said, smiling. He swung his arm at Julian.

Julian narrowly dodged, causing the slave to hit the floor. It left a crater. Looking at the crater, Julian's fear increases tremendously. The dodge was complete luck. But if he got hit with that... it would've been over for him.

The slave threw another punch. Right. It was over for him.

[Cast: Rising Ice]

A pillar of ice rose from the ground at an alarming speed, trapping the slave's arm. Oscar looked at Julian.

"You alright?" he asked, pulling Julian. Julian nodded, still a little shaken.

"Where is... everyone else?" Julian questioned.

"They all escaped. They all told me to go and look for you."

"Ah, okay. But, leave me here."

"Huh? Why would I do that?"

"I'm looking for someone."

"You'll die-"

"I don't care, Oscar. I have someone to find."

Oscar sighed, then nodded.

"Good luck. I seriously hope that I'll be able to find you again."

"Don't worry! I'll be alive!" Julian said, smiling. Oscar smiled back, though it was light.

[Cast: Ice Steps]

Platforms of ice formed, in which Oscar dashed onto them. Before Julian knew it, Oscar was gone.

Authors Note!

Dear readers! I edited out the explicit scene. You may wonder, why? Well, it's because I thought it was a dumb idea! Webnovel is usually used for smut, but I didn't want to be like that. I wanted to stick on fantasy/adventure, and not put anything in it, even if it meant decreasing how much views I would get.

Oh, and because a comment noted on it. That was a primary reason too.

from, the author.
