SHOCKER
Why do I get the feeling that was a shot at me?
PROWLER
Because it was.
(Beat)
Anyway, I know the people she's attached to. It's not hard to draw her out.
SCORPION
Then tell me who to kill!
PROWLER
Her dad works in the police force. But-
SCORPION
Then that's what we hit next!
PROWLER
NO! My brother also works there, I can't just let you kill him!
SCORPION
Aw, poor Prowler! Get a grip! Help me kill Spider-Woman or I kill EVERYONE in the police department.
PROWLER
Her dad's the police captain...
SCORPION
FINALLY! Some progress! What's his name?
PROWLER
Look that up yourself.
Scorpion swings her stinger, smacking into Prowler and sending him flying. Before he can get up, she pounces over to him and jams her stinger into his shoulder.
SCORPION
I'm getting sick of this! TELL. ME!
PROWLER
It's Stacy! George Stacy!
She pulls out the stinger.
PROWLER (cont'd)
Damn... Thought we could, maybe, give it a minute.
SHOCKER
To be fair, we would be assaulting the police department ALONE. I think we should gather a little cult following maybe?
SCORPION
You have friends in high places, Herman. You do it.
SHOCKER
Sure, whatever, I get the boring jobs then, I guess.
Shocker leaves. Scorpion turns to Prowler.
SCORPION
If you do that, "I don't wanna tell you nothing, I wanna play a little game!" nonsense again, I will kill you and your family. Slowly.
PROWLER
Yes, boss...
INT. PARKER RESIDENCE - DAY
The doorbell rings. May answers the door to find Gwen.
MAY
Gwen! How are you, dear?
GWEN
I'm good, May. You?
MAY
Oh, I'm doing fine. Come in, come in, what are you doing here?
GWEN
Well, Peter wanted me to come over, so-
MAY
What? Peter never told me about this!
GWEN
He said he'd tell you...
MAY
PETER!
Peter's footsteps hurry down the stairs.
PETER
Yeah?
MAY
You didn't tell me Gwen was staying the night!
PETER
Oh, sorry, I forgot...
MAY
She can, but don't spring things on me like that.
She rolls her eyes and lets Gwen inside, closing the door behind her.
May walks off to the kitchen and Gwen practically chases Peter upstairs to his bedroom.
They enter Peter's room and shut the door.
GWEN
So, what are we doing?
PETER
Actually, I wanted to show you something. You'll love it, close your eyes.
Gwen shuts her eyes as Peter shuffles around his room.
PETER (cont'd)
Okay... Open!
GWEN
Woah.
On Peter's bed, neatly laid out, is a bunch of files and test tubes.
GWEN (cont'd)
Where'd you get these?
Gwen looks closely and reads the logo as Peter speaks.
PETER
Oscorp.
Gwen gasps.
GWEN
PETER!
PETER
What? I was curious so-
GWEN
So nothing! You STOLE confidential files from the leading science corporation in the world!
PETER
Yeah...
Gwen looks at him in shock.
PETER (cont'd)
But give it a chance, just read through.
Gwen opens the first file. "Spider Project".
PETER (cont'd)
I got an internship at Oscorp and swiped whatever looked cool. There's one about the spiders we saw, and one about a lizard project. But that's not really the one I wanted to show you the most.
Peter hands Gwen another file. She opens it to find something horrific.
GWEN
My god...
Pictures of people in test chambers. Their bodies modified and mutated. Detailed descriptions of their conditions are typed up underneath.
GWEN (cont'd)
Human experiments?
PETER
Yeah, I felt kinda sick too. We should give this to the Daily Bugle, expose Oscorp for how inhumane and corrupt they are!
GWEN
You're playing with fire Pete...
PETER
Yeah, but someone has to! Maybe I could get them to Spider-Woman. She could help, right?
GWEN
What, her biggest hater will just accept stolen files from her and NOT paint it as a framing?
PETER
Come on, Jameson's not THAT bad. Look, we need to do something about this. Give it to your dad? Please?
GWEN
I-I can try, but it's really a double edged sword, Peter...
Gwen looks back at the bed.
GWEN
What's with the vials?
PETER
That's the "Lizard" serum.
GWEN
AND you stole chemicals!
PETER
Look at what it does, though.
Peter takes Gwen over to his computer and logs on.
He inserts a USB and pulls up a video.
