Princess Zelda was led to her room. The goron escort opened the door for her, and she smiled, bowed her head in thanks, and walked in with Impa behind her.
The escort closed the door behind them, and all Zelda could concentrate on was on one of the stone beds within their room. She sighed contentedly, and spoke.
"Ready for some rough nights, Impa?"
The princess turned around, but there was no one with her in the room. It didn't surprise her. Impa was a sheika, after all, and the only one that had been sent to Death Mountain with the king and the princess.
The elder woman was the princess' handmaid, yes. But her job right now was to disappear, and eavesdrop.

Ganon and the small force of 20 moblins he'd trained himself used his powers to sneak into Goron City. They reached the audience chamber, and quickly took care of all the goron guards within. The king and chief they left alive, but restrained. The king by ropes. The chief by reinforced braided chains. Both on their knees.
Ganon's hooded figure appeared within the room when everything was taken care of, and laughed. First, it was a smug, almost dignified sound. It devolved into a manic cackle.
"Just let me get out of here--" the chief began.
Still laughing, Ganon simply stretched his hand at the chief, and a black orb shot out from it to impact with the chief's head, which was pushed so his face was turned to the ceiling. The Goron's pupils shrank, and he collapsed, unconscious.
The Triforce of Power fell from his hand to the floor, clinking on the stone.
Ganon's laugh stopped immediately, and he stared with unbelieving eyes at the triangle.
"What luck," he said with hand extended towards the precious item, giving deliberate step after deliberate step. "What luck, what luck, what luck, what luck. Never, in all the times I've…"
"And you shall be banished again," the king interjected with voice as unbreaking and firm as steel.
Ganon stopped, and turned his head slowly to glare at the king. "King Hyrule," the light-blue goblin acknowledged the monarch's presence, then walked to crouch in front of him. "As inconsequential as ever. Never have your reincarnations done anything of note while alive."
The fiend's claws were enough to ruin the king's neck. That done, Ganon picked up the Triforce of Power, chanted a spell to withdraw its essence, and siphon it into himself. The golden triangle, the vessel, disappeared, but appeared as a mark on Ganon's right hand. A painful grunt of effort issued from his mouth as his body tripled in size and girth, as did his tusks and claws.
Hidden in the shadows of the chamber, Impa witnessed everything. She was as skillful as old, and knew it would only be failure she met, had she tried to save the king and the chief. Instead, the royal servant slipped away to warn the princess.
