Chapter 8: Slice Of Life
It had been a month since Lily and Gami's wedding day. Lily had become good friends with her employees, Stephanie and Kate. Whenever she wasn't with her husband, she spent her time with them. Stephanie had long brown hair that flowed down her back and cat ears that twitched whenever she was alert. She was really confident and strong, but also had a soft side that she only showed to her closest friends. Kate, on the other hand, had short blond hair that framed her face and elf ears that pointed delicately upwards. She was really outgoing and kind, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
One day, while they were all chatting, Lily mentioned that she had been feeling a bit sick in the mornings. Stephanie and Kate immediately realized what was happening and told Lily that she was pregnant. Lily was shocked at first, but then a wave of happiness washed over her. She couldn't wait to tell her husband the great news.
Later that day, Lily went to find Gami in his office. She was so excited that she could barely contain herself. When she finally told him the news, he was over the moon. They hugged and kissed each other, both filled with joy and anticipation for the future.
As they walked back to their living quarters, they talked about all the things they wanted to do with their future child. They imagined what their son or daughter would look like and what kind of person they would grow up to be. They couldn't wait to start their new life as a family.
Lily: "I can't believe we're going to have a baby! Have you thought about what we should name him or her?"
Gami: "I have a few ideas, but I'm not sure yet. What are you thinking?"
Lily: "Well, if it's a girl, I was thinking we could name her after my grandmother. Her name was Madeline and she was such a kind and loving person."
Gami: "I like that idea. Madeline is a beautiful name. But what if it's a boy?"
Lily: "Hmm, I haven't thought about that yet. What do you think?"
Gami: "I was thinking we could name him after my grandfather. His name was Gabriel and he was a really wise and thoughtful man."
Lily: "Gabriel is a nice name. But I was also thinking we could name him after your father. His name is Michael, right?"
Gami: "Yeah, that's right. Michael is a good name too. I guess we'll have to wait and see if it's a boy or a girl."
Lily: "Yeah, I can't wait to find out. Either way, I know we'll come up with the perfect name for our baby."
Gami: "Lily, I think we need to start looking for a new home. We're going to need more space for the baby."
Lily: "You're right. I've been thinking the same thing. But where do we even start?"
Gami: "Well, I was thinking we could start by talking to the local real estate agent. They'll be able to show us some houses that fit our needs."
Lily: "That's a good idea. Do you know any good agents?"
Gami: "Actually, I heard about a really good one named Sheila. She's helped a lot of people find their dream homes."
Lily: "Okay, let's go talk to her and see if she's available."
(Gami and Lily go to the local real estate agent's office)
Sheila: "Hello, how may I help you?"
Gami: "We're looking for a larger home with at least 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We're expecting a baby and we need more space."
Sheila: "I see. Well, I have a few homes in mind that I think you'll like. Let's get started."
(After visiting several homes, Gami and Lily finally find the perfect one)
Lily: "Wow, this house is amazing! It's exactly what we're looking for."
Gami: "I agree. It has everything we need and more. And the backyard is perfect for our future child to play in."
Sheila: "I'm glad you like it. This house is a real gem. It has a lot of history and character."
Lily: "We'll take it! When can we move in?"
Sheila: "Great! I'll get the paperwork started right away. You should be able to move in right away."
Gami: "Thank you so much, Sheila. You've been a huge help."
Lily: "Yes, thank you. We couldn't have done it without you."
The next morning, they move in.
Gami: "Lily, I can't believe how lucky we are to have found this house. It's absolutely beautiful."
Lily: "I know, it's amazing. I can't wait to start decorating it."
Gami: "Me too. I was thinking we could go with a Victorian-style decor. What do you think?"
Lily: "I love that idea. It would really go well with the house's history and character."
Gami: "Exactly. I was thinking we could start with the living room. We could get a big, plush couch and some antique-looking chairs. And maybe a nice Sapphirous rug for the floor."
Lily: "That sounds great. And we could put up some paintings and portraits on the walls. Maybe some old-fashioned lamps too."
Gami: "Yes, I was thinking the same thing. And we could get some nice curtains for the windows. Something with a lot of lace and frills."
Lily: "I love it. And what about the bedrooms?"
Gami: "Well, we have four to choose from. I was thinking we could make one of them a guest room. We could put in a nice, comfortable bed and some antique dressers and mirrors."
Lily: "That's a great idea. And for our bedroom, we could get a big four-poster bed and some nice, fluffy pillows. And maybe some lace curtains for the windows."
Gami: "I like it. And for the other two bedrooms, we could turn one into a study and the other into a nursery."
Lily: "That's perfect. And what about the kitchens?"
Gami: "Well, we have two to choose from. I was thinking we could make one a more modern kitchen for everyday use, and the other could be a more traditional kitchen for special occasions."
Lily: "That's a great idea. We could get a big, old-fashioned stove for the traditional kitchen, and some nice china and silverware for the dining room."
Gami: "Exactly. And we could put up some nice curtains and tablecloths too. And don't forget about the maids' quarters and the guest house. We'll need to decorate those too."
Lily: "Right. We could make the maids' quarters simple but comfortable, with some nice bedding and a dresser. And for the guest house, we could get a nice, comfortable bed and some antique furniture."
Gami: "Yes, that's a great idea. And we could put up some nice curtains and maybe some paintings on the walls too."
Lily: "Definitely. And what about the guard house?"
Gami: "Well, we don't need to decorate that too much. But we could put up some nice curtains and maybe some plants outside to make it look a little more welcoming."
Lily: "That's a good idea. And what about the gates? They're so big and imposing."
Gami: "I know, but they're necessary for security. We could put up some nice flowers and plants around them to make them look a little more inviting."
Lily: "That's a great idea. And maybe we could put up some lanterns or lights to make it look nice at night."
Gami: "Exactly. I think it's going to look amazing once we're done decorating."
Lily: "Me too. I can't wait to get started."
...
Gami: "Okay, let's start with the living room. What do you think we should do first?"
Lily: "Well, we should probably start by moving all the furniture around and getting rid of anything we don't need."
Gami: "Good idea. I think we should put the couch over there and the chairs over here."
Lily: "Perfect. And what about the rug?"
Gami: "I think we should get a new one. Something that matches the new curtains we're going to put up."
Lily: "Okay, I'll look for some options in the booklet I got from the furnisher store."
Gami: "Great. And while you're doing that, I'll start cleaning up and getting rid of all the clutter."
Lily: "Sounds good. Let's get to work!"
A couple of days pass...
Gami: "Finally, we're done decorating the house. It looks amazing."
Lily: "I know, I can't believe how different it looks now. And it's all thanks to you."
Gami: "It was a team effort. But now that we're done, I think we should celebrate."
Lily: "That sounds like a great idea. What do you have in mind?"
Gami: "Let's go to that new restaurant that just opened up. I heard they have amazing food."
Lily: "Okay, let's do it. But first, I think we should hire some help to keep the house clean and tidy."
Gami: "That's a good idea. We've been so busy with the renovations that we haven't had time to clean up properly."
Lily: "Exactly. And I don't want to be doing any heavy lifting during my pregnancy."
Gami: "I understand. Let's go to that maid agency we heard about and see if they have any good candidates."
Lily: "Great idea. I'm sure we'll find someone who can help us out."
Gami: "Here we are, the maid agency. Let's go inside and see if they have any candidates that we like."
Lily: "Okay, let's do it."
(As they enter the agency, they're greeted by a friendly receptionist.)
Receptionist: "Hello, how may I help you?"
Gami: "We're looking to hire some maids to help us keep our house clean and tidy. Do you have any candidates that you can recommend?"
Receptionist: "Yes, we have a few candidates that I think would be perfect for you. Please follow me."
(As they follow the receptionist, they see four cat-like women with different hair colors and eye colors waiting for them.)
Receptionist: "These are our candidates. They're all highly skilled and experienced. Please feel free to ask them any questions you may have."
Lily: "Thank you. It's nice to meet you all. Can you please introduce yourselves?"
Cat-like Woman 1: "My name is Luna. I have black hair and green eyes."
Cat-like Woman 2: "My name is Aurora. I have blonde hair and blue eyes."
Cat-like Woman 3: "My name is Stella. I have red hair and brown eyes."
Cat-like Woman 4: "My name is Cleo. I have purple hair and yellow eyes."
Gami: "Nice to meet you all. You all seem very professional and skilled. Can you tell us a bit about your experience?"
(And so the interview process begins...)
Luna: "I have been working as a maid for six years now. I have experience in cleaning, laundry, and cooking. I'm very detail-oriented and always strive to provide the best service possible."
Aurora: "I have been working as a maid for four years now. I have experience in cleaning, organizing, and running errands. I'm very reliable and always show up on time."
Stella: "I have been working as a maid for eight years now. I have experience in cleaning, ironing, and taking care of children. I'm very friendly and love pets."
Cleo: "I have been working as a maid for two years now. I have experience in cleaning, gardening, and pet care. I'm very adaptable and willing to learn new things."
Gami: "We have decided to hire all four of you. We think you all have unique skills that will be very helpful around the house."
Lily: "Yes, we're very excited to have you all on board. Luna, you will be in charge of cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen. Aurora, you will be in charge of dusting and cleaning the living room and bedrooms. Cleo, you will be in charge of taking care of the garden and the pets. And Stella, we have some special needs. I'm currently pregnant and will need some extra help. You will be in charge of taking care of me, cooking meals, and helping me with the baby."
Stella: "Of course, I'm happy to help in any way I can. Congratulations on your pregnancy, Lily."
Luna: "Thank you so much. We're very happy to have you all on board."
Aurora: "Yes, we'll all work very hard to make sure your house is clean and comfortable."
Cleo: "And we'll make sure the garden looks beautiful and the pets are happy and healthy."
The Maids head to house, after receiving directions from Lily.
Moments later...
Lily: "We need to make sure our family is safe and secure. Do you have any recommendations for security agencies?"
Gami: "I've heard good things about the WHALO Security Agency. They have a lot of experience and great reviews."
Lily: "Okay, let's go check them out."
*After arriving at the WHALO Security Agency*
Lily: "Hi, we're looking to hire some security guards for our home. Can you tell us a little about your services?"
Security Agent: "Of course. We offer a variety of security services, including armed and unarmed guards, patrol services, and magical security systems installation. We'll work with you to create a custom security plan that meets your needs and budget."
Gami: "That sounds great. What kind of training do your guards receive?"
Security Agent: "All of our guards receive extensive training in defensive tactics, firearms, and emergency response. We also conduct background checks and drug tests to ensure that our guards are highly qualified and trustworthy."
Lily: "Okay, we're interested in hiring some armed guards to patrol our property. How much would that cost?"
Security Agent: "The cost will depend on the number of guards you need and the level of protection you require. We can provide you with a quote after we do a security assessment of your property."
Gami: "That sounds fair. When can we schedule the assessment?"
Security Agent: "We can do it as soon as tomorrow. How does that sound?"
Lily: "That works for us. Thank you so much for your help."
