Chapter 4: Poisoned Tongue

A villager returned home, to check on his family.

Petyr: "Agatha, Leivule, it's me. Are you guys okay?"

Agatha: "Petyr, thank goodness you're back. We were so worried about you."

Leivule: "Did we win the battle? Did the warriors save the town?"

Petyr: "Yes, we won the battle. We were saved by Gami, the man in charge of training the town's butchers."

Agatha: "Oh, thank goodness. I'm so relieved."

Leivule: "Gami? You mean Lily's boyfriend Gami?"

Petyr: "Yes, that's the one."

Leivule: "I can't believe it. He gets all the credit while I'm stuck hiding in the basement."

Agatha: "Leivule, that's not fair. You know that Gami has been working hard to save the town."

Leivule: "But he's Lily's boyfriend. It's not like he's doing it out of the goodness of his heart."

Petyr: "Leivule, that's enough. We should be grateful that we're all safe now."

Leivule: "I'm sorry. I'm just upset. I'm going for a walk."

Leivule stormed out of the house, cursing as he left.

Leivule was on a walk as he talked to himself about how much he despised Gami. He couldn't understand why Lily loved Gami instead of him. He missed Lily and wished that she would see how much he loved her. As he walked, he couldn't help but feel angry and resentful towards Gami. He thought about how unfair it was that Gami got all the credit for saving the town, while he was stuck hiding in the basement. He couldn't wait for the day when he could get revenge on Gami and prove that he was the hero that everyone needed.

Leivule: "Why does Lily love Gami? He's not even that great. I would treat her so much better than he ever could."

Leivule: "I can't believe I had to hide in the basement while Gami got all the credit for saving the town. It's not fair."

Leivule: "One day, I'll show everyone that I'm the real hero. Gami will regret ever crossing me."

Leivule: "I can't let Gami get away with this. He's not a hero. He's a fraud."

He stood up and wiped his tears.

Leivule: "I need to find out the truth about him. I'll expose him for who he really is."

He started walking, his determination growing with each step.

Leivule: "I'll show everyone that I'm the real hero. I'll prove that Gami is just a fake."

He clenched his fists, his anger towards Gami fueling his determination.

Leivule: "I'll make him pay for what he's done. Lily will see that I'm the one who truly cares for her."

He continued walking towards the bar, ready to set his plan in motion.

The next day, Leivule walked around the village, listening to the people talk about Gami. Everywhere he went, he heard the same rumors that he had started the night before.

Leivule: "It's working. Everyone believes that Gami is the villain now."

He grinned to himself, feeling a sense of satisfaction.

Leivule: "I just need to keep spreading the rumors. Soon, Gami will be exposed for who he really is."

As he walked, he noticed Lily sitting by the river, looking sad.

Leivule: "Hey, Lily. What's wrong?"

Lily: "It's Gami. Everyone is saying terrible things about him. They say he's a villain and that he's been using me."

Leivule: "I know. I heard the same rumors. But don't worry, Lily. I'll protect you from him."

Lily looked at him with confusion.

Lily: "Protect me from him? Gami would never hurt me."

Leivule: "That's what he wants you to think. He's been manipulating you all along."

Lily shook her head, clearly not believing him.

Lily: "I don't know what to believe anymore."

Leivule: "Believe me, Lily. I'm the only one who truly cares about you."

Lily stood up, looking at him with anger.

Lily: "You're just like everyone else. You're spreading lies about Gami because you're jealous of him."

Leivule: "I'm not jealous. I'm just trying to protect you."

Lily: "I don't need your protection. I need you to stop spreading lies about Gami."

She walked away, leaving Leivule alone by the river.

Leivule: "She'll see the truth eventually. I just need to keep spreading the rumors."

Later that night....

Gami walked into his home, feeling exhausted after a long day of helping the villagers fix the outer walls of the village. He noticed Lily in the kitchen, crying.

Gami: "Lily, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Lily looked up at him, tears streaming down her face.

Lily: "Everyone is saying terrible things about you. They say you're a villain and that you've been using me."

Gami felt a pang of sadness in his chest.

Gami: "I'm sorry, Lily. I never meant for any of this to happen."

Lily: "Do you really love me, Gami? Or have you just been using me all along?"

Gami took a step closer to her, looking into her eyes.

Gami: "I love you, Lily. I always have. I would never use you or hurt you in any way."

Lily looked at him, searching his face for any sign of deceit.

Lily: "Then why are people saying all these terrible things about you?"

Gami: "I don't know. Maybe it's because they're afraid of me or jealous of our relationship."

Lily: "What can we do, Gami? I don't want to lose you."

Gami: "We'll figure something out. I won't let anyone come between us."

He took her in his arms, holding her tightly.

Gami: "I promise, Lily. Everything will be okay."

Gami looked at Lily, his eyes searching hers.

Gami: "Do you really think that the majority of the villagers would believe such an outlandish and obvious lie?"

Lily hesitated for a moment, her mind racing with thoughts.

Lily: "Well, no. I don't think most of them would believe it. But there are some who might be swayed by it."

Gami's face darkened, his fists clenching at his sides.

Gami: "Who are they? Who would believe such a thing?"

Lily sighed, knowing that this was going to be difficult.

Lily: "There are some farmers in the village who don't like you, Gami. They're envious and jealous of your promotion, and they would do anything to see you fail."

Gami's eyes widened, shock and disbelief written all over his face.

Gami: "I can't believe it. After all I've done for them, they would turn on me like this?"

Lily nodded, her voice soft and gentle.

Lily: "I'm sorry, Gami. But we have to face the truth. They're not our friends, and we can't trust them."

Gami took a deep breath, his mind racing with thoughts.

Gami: "What should we do, Lily? How can we protect ourselves from them?"

Lily thought for a moment, her eyes searching his.

Lily: "We have to be careful. We can't let them see us weaken or falter. We have to show them that we're strong, and that we won't be defeated by their lies."

Gami nodded, determination in his eyes.

Gami: "You're right, Lily. We can't let them win. We have to stand up to them, and show them that we're not afraid."

As Gami and Lily were deep in thought, a sudden knock on the door interrupted their conversation. They both looked at each other, wondering who it could be. Gami hesitantly stood up and walked towards the door. As he opened it, he was met with a group of angry villagers, led by the farmers who had been conspiring against him. Gami knew he was in trouble, but he had no idea how bad it was about to get.
