Chapter 12: First tames
(POV-Cyrus)
I stare at the gauntlet as I notice a reflection on its shiny surface, as I look closely I see the Neo malware helmet and hood stare at me lifelessly.
"Lyra, can you open a mirror panel please?" I ask while looking at my arm with amazement.
<Sure thing.> A reflective panel then opened up in front of me.
I look at the mirror and see myself wearing the armor with awe as I start doing various bodybuilding poses.
<Ahem… sorry to interrupt your- whatever you're doing, but please stop its cringe and you are embarrassing yourself.> I hear Lyra say much to my embarrassment.
I then quickly stop realizing the level of cringe I committed "You saw nothing…" I say with a dead serious tone.
<Sure sure I didn't hear anything… by the way your food is burning.> Lyra said in a sarcastic tone.
"What!" I look at the fire and see my dinner turned into lumps of charcoal.
"NOOOOOO!!!" I scream as I fall to my knees.

One mourning over food later…

I stood still over the shore of the lake with two sharpened sticks at hand letting the fish pass by me.
Suddenly I see a big fish come over my way and I tighten my grip waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.
Then just as the fish was about to pass me I react in a swift motion and throw the sticks.
The first primitive spear pierced through the fish's head and plunged into another's abdomen and the second spear went through a fish's gill killing it.
I retrieved the three fish and made my way to the campfire.
I settled myself on the ground and skewered the fish and a vegetable or two with a metal skewer.
As I start roasting my meal I see a panel pop open and hear Lyra congratulate me.
<Congratulations Cyrus on completing the missions "Sweet old camping" and "Survivor of Dusk"> I hear Lyra say in a congratulatory tone.
Two other panels popped up and I read their contents.
<Mission- "Sweet old camping." Complete!
Rewards= 45-Exp, STR +3, HP +2.
Bonus= If the base exceeds the system's expectation skill Survivalist will be given to the host.

"Lyra accept the rewards please." I polity ask her barely containing my excitement.

A barrage of panels opened up simultaneously and a soothing feeling irrupted from within me and I felt somehow even more alive.
I then opened my stats to look at the change in my status.

"Hey, Lyra can I use the starter pack now that I'm level 1?" I question Lyra with excitement.
<You're now eligible to use it.> Her ethereal voice laced itself with excitement.
"All right then Lyra claim the starter pack please." I politely ask her.
<All the items should be in your inventory!> Her tone oozed with excitement.
"Thank you." I thanked her before I then tapped the tattoo and opened up the inventory panel.
I look at my inventory and my eyes were drawn to the gems. Then tapped the icon containing the gems and a panel opened above my hands.
Then out of the panel, two red gems the size of a golf ball gently floated down to my palm.
"Lyra scan these stones please!" I said with excitement.
Then two panels come into existence displaying their information.

Description-
This gem can be used to summon a random beast from any dimension throughout the omniverse. This beast will automatically be tamed and will be the peak of its kind.

<Cyrus I recommend you use the stones right away, you're at the starting point of your journey so it's best to get as many allies as possible.> Lyra advised me.
"Well then… let's get ourselves some beasts!" I say as I press the use button on both panels.
Then with a moment's notice, both stones shot out of my grasp.
The stones then logged themselves into the ground as two unique yet small magic circles appeared above stones.
One of the magic circles glowed a blinding crimson brown while the other glowed an abyssal pitch black.
Once the brown light died down it revealed a strange amalgamation of rocks and the black one revealed a black blob of what seemed to be black slime.
"Argh!!" I felt something crash into my stomach and latch onto my leg.
<-6 HP>
^Kyu!^
^Geo Geodude!^
I hear two distinct yet familiar sounds (Wait could it be?!) I look down and see the stone golem that I now recall as a geodude bear hugging me.
<-0.5 HP>

I lift my leg to my face and see a black slimy creature cling to my leg for dear life scared of falling onto the ground.
I quickly and gently lower my foot to the ground noticing the creature's fear.
"Hey uh little guy mind loosening up a bit your kinda killing me." I say with pain as I tap the geodudes back a few times.
The geodude lifted its head staring at me with a guilty look and nodded as it let go and floated beside me while sulking.
I instinctively patted its head and spoke in a gentle tone "Don't worry it's not your fault, you may hug me just try to be a bit gentler ok?".
Right after I said that the stone creature's face brightened up and it once again gave me a bear hug just a lot less painful.
I look at the geodude and noticed it was fast asleep clinging to my coat.
I then slowly crouch down and sit down with my legs crossed letting the geodude lay peacefully on my lap.
I then look for the black blob remembering its existence.
I then notice it on a flat rock pouting while looking at the geodude with a sad expression filled with jealousy.
I scoop the slime into my hands and started playfully rubbing what I assume was its cheeks with my thumbs.
(Huh surprisingly it's not as wet I as I thought it would be. It feels like a soft balloon filled with water.) I wondered not realizing a cheerful smile crept onto my face.
^imikyu…^ The creature purred gleefully as its entire body vibrated.
<Wow you're good at this! My previous hosts never treated any of their tames as kindly as you're doing right now.> Lyra compliment me and her tone turned disdainful at the mention of her old hosts.
"Really now?..." My tone turned cold and I unconsciously tightened my grip.
^KYU!^ The slime squealed uncontrollably.
"OH SHIT!!" I shout as I realize my actions.
