The next day, Fred and George's bruises from the Bludger had completely faded, and they left the hospital wing early in the morning to meet their friends in the Great Hall.
"What's this?" George looked at the departing owl and the package in front of Albert, curious to know.
"It's dog food," Albert replied without even looking up. "For Fang. Thanks to him the other night."
"Oh, Fang did help a lot," George agreed.
He didn't actually know how Fang had helped, but since Albert said so and even bought dog food for him, it must have been a big help.
"Are you going to Hagrid's later? Are you coming with us?" Albert casually asked.
"No, we're planning to go to the library. We still have a lot of holiday homework to do," Fred nudged George with his elbow, who snapped out of his daze and quickly added, "We won't go."
Albert was just asking casually. He knew very well that Fred and George wouldn't dare to see Hagrid. If they did go, Hagrid would probably lecture them for ages.
Carrying the dog food he bought from the magical creatures store, Albert made his way to Hagrid's hut. Fang had fully recovered and was circling around Albert, delighted with the dog food he had purchased.
"Thanks again for the other night, thanks to Fang!" Albert rubbed Fang's head and said to Hagrid, who was boiling water.
"You've got quite the nerve, going into the forest alone in the middle of the night," Hagrid scolded Albert, hands on his hips, displeased.
Hagrid was reproaching Albert for his recklessness.
"Didn't you say that as long as we have Fang, the creatures in the forest won't harm us?" Albert easily countered Hagrid's words.
"Did I say something like that?" Hagrid asked, a bit flustered.
"Yes, otherwise, how could I have dared to take the risk?" Albert replied.
"Well, suppose I did say that," Hagrid was a little annoyed. He poured water into the teapot and pondered when he might have said such a thing.
"Although it's not exactly as you said, Fang did help a lot, even though he's a bit timid," Albert sipped the amber-colored tea and tossed a bone-like treat to Fang.
It was one of the favorite snacks of a hunting dog.
"Professor Slughorn said... you took down a lot of Acromantulas in the forest," Hagrid brought up the topic with a slightly awkward expression.
"A lot of them. Those giant spiders are very dangerous," Albert glanced at Hagrid and continued on his own, "Actually, I'm curious why those creatures, the so-called Acromantulas, are in the Forbidden Forest. I've researched their information, and these creatures, called Acromantulas, live deep in the rainforests of Southeast Asia. Someone must have released them into the Forbidden Forest."
Hagrid's expression suddenly became a little embarrassed because he was the one who released the spiders into the Forbidden Forest.
"Well, I also encountered the legendary Centaurs. They're very unfriendly toward wizards," Albert recalled his first encounter with the Centaurs, furrowing his brows slightly, and continued, "We almost fought. I was considering whether or not to take them down."
"That's a pretty foolish idea," Hagrid stuttered, correcting Albert. "Fortunately, you didn't do that. Hogwarts has always had a good relationship with the Centaurs."
"A good relationship?" Albert shook his head indifferently. "Perhaps Headmaster Dumbledore can easily intimidate most Centaurs. It's said that he is the most powerful wizard in the wizarding world."
"Dumbledore is certainly the most powerful wizard," Hagrid agreed with Albert's view.
"I think the Centaurs recognize your hunting dog. They thought I shouldn't enter the forest. One of the brown-black Centaurs initially caused trouble for me. Perhaps you know him. But I have to admit, it wasn't a friendly encounter," Albert had a very poor first impression of the Centaurs.
"The Centaurs are always like that, don't mind them," Hagrid reassured.
"Well, I indeed don't mind," Albert said seriously. "Since I dared to venture deep into the Forbidden Forest, I was prepared to die in there. If the Centaurs dare to shoot arrows at me, I will definitely knock them out and let them experience how it feels to be hanging from a tree."
Albert said these words with malicious intent, and even Hagrid could tell that Albert had a very poor first impression of the Centaurs.
"Don't be like that, they mean no harm. The Centaurs won't hurt Hogwarts students," Hagrid said, hoping to prevent any conflict between Albert and the Centaurs.
"I don't mean any harm either. By the way, next time you encounter the Centaurs, please thank a reddish-brown one for me. His name seems to be Ronan. Although that Centaur didn't guide us out of the forest in the end, please thank him for me."
"But I think the Centaurs probably won't appreciate my gesture," Albert added. "So, let's skip the thanks."
"I will," Hagrid poured Albert another cup of amber-colored tea and took a sip himself. He earnestly cautioned, "Don't venture into the forest by yourself anymore. You were lucky this time, but it won't always be like that."
"Do you really think I willingly risked going into the forest?" Albert couldn't help but roll his eyes at Hagrid. "If you were at home, I would definitely have gone with you. By the way, be careful yourself the next time you go into the forest. Don't let the giant spiders drag you away. Even you wouldn't be able to face a group of them."
Although he said that, Albert was just teasing Hagrid, preventing him from lecturing him about going into the forest alone again.
Hagrid's expression was indeed a bit... conflicted.
"In fact, those Acromantulas are not as dangerous as you imagine!" Hagrid hesitated for a moment but still spoke up.
"Not... as dangerous... as I imagine," Albert repeated each word deliberately.
"Hagrid, I think you're joking. If the Acromantulas were safe, they wouldn't be classified like that," Albert stared at Hagrid and, after a moment of silence, suddenly said, "If I had arrived a bit later, you probably wouldn't have been able to find Fred and George's bodies in the Forbidden Forest."
Hagrid became even more silent because what Albert said was likely true.
"Those creatures have something to do with you, don't they? Don't deny it," Albert sighed lightly. "From what you just said, I can be sure of that. Acromantulas shouldn't have been living in the Forbidden Forest in the first place. Professor Slughorn once jokingly said that someone might be breeding Acromantulas, but I think it was just a joke."
"Hagrid, I still need to remind you that while the Acromantulas may not eat you, they certainly wouldn't hesitate to devour your friends," Albert looked at the silent Hagrid and continued, "I'm not accusing you, just reminding you. It may not be dangerous for you, but it doesn't mean it's not dangerous for others."
Hagrid remained silent, his expression unnatural, clearly not wanting to hear these words.
"You have giant blood in you, don't you? Don't rush to deny it," Albert raised his hand to interrupt Hagrid and lowered his voice, "The giant blood makes you naturally fearless of those dangerous magical creatures, but those creatures only need one bite to take our lives."
"And one more thing, don't admit it, don't mention that you have giant blood. I don't mind speculating about others with the worst intentions. If someone uses this against you, it will bring unimaginable trouble. Wizards fear giants, just like they fear mysterious people."
Albert quickly left Hagrid's hut, completing a task related to Hagrid in the process.
