Hmm, it's interesting to unexpectedly come across a familiar face here.
When Albert turned his head to sneak a bite of a chocolate hard candy, he noticed Miss Field, whom he had met at the Transfiguration Club, sitting not far away.
She also noticed his gaze and looked over in his direction, coincidentally catching Albert peeling off the candy wrapper. She blinked at him, as if wanting to laugh, but since they were still in the library, neither of them spoke.
Albert popped the hard candy into his mouth, took his own paper, and walked over to sit next to Field. After exchanging a quiet greeting with her, he said in a low voice.
"Be careful not to get caught by Mrs. Pince." Field mouthed the words.
"As long as we're not seen!" Albert offered her a few hard candies, nonchalantly saying, "And besides, these are hard candies. If you keep them in your mouth, no one will notice. Would you like one too?"
"Come on, tell me what you want from me." Field easily saw through Albert. If this guy didn't have a reason, he probably wouldn't have come to find her.
"It's like this."
Albert pointed to the part of his parchment where he had made alterations, and then explained his idea of copying and pasting text.
After he finished speaking, Albert noticed Field, who was peeling her candy, giving him a strange look.
She muttered softly, "To what extent must a person be lazy to want to invent this kind of magic?"
"Laziness makes people more creative, don't you think?" Albert winked at Field and continued, "The invention of spells is all about making things easier."
"You're something else!" Field stared at Albert for a moment, curious as to why he could brazenly make such arguments in defense of himself.
"But I can't help you with that set of ideas. However, in return for this..." Field shook the candy wrapper and said, "I can tell you a method to modify the text. Actually, the method is quite simple—it's the Transfiguration Charm. Do you know it?"
"Transfiguration Charm?" Albert carefully recalled his knowledge about the Transfiguration Charm in his mind, and he suddenly realized that these guys in front of him were even more skilled at pretending than he was.
The Transfiguration Charm was advanced knowledge in the later stages of Transfiguration, with N.E.W.T. level difficulty. Although it wasn't as difficult as human transfiguration, learning the Transfiguration Charm was not a simple task. Yet, in the words of this senior student, it had become so simple?
Yeah, right!
At least, with Albert's current level, he wouldn't be able to learn it without directly leveling up using the panel.
Although he kept the option of relying on the panel, he actually had the intention to tackle this on his own in certain aspects. He wanted to learn through his own efforts instead of solely relying on the panel.
If he developed a habit of relying on the panel, what would he do when he ran out of experience points? Even though he was a lazy person, he had his own ideal kind of laziness, even if that ideal seemed a bit ridiculous.
If he wanted to live comfortably in the future, he had to plan his life properly.
"Like this..." Field lightly tapped the incorrect parts on the parchment with the tip of her wand, transforming them into different words. "This is a simple application of the Transfiguration Charm. Professor McGonagall taught us this little trick last semester."
"Once I learn Summoning, then I'll practice this."
"Professor McGonagall will probably teach it this semester as well, so you'll have a chance to learn it." Field briefly glanced over Albert's magical thesis and suddenly realized that this younger student was more skilled than she had imagined. Was this really the level of a first-year student?
Recalling the scene of her own first thesis writing, she suddenly had the impulse to tear the parchment to shreds.
But what did she end up writing in the end?
"Are you thinking of joining the Charms Club too?" Field raised her head, wearing a peculiar expression as she asked.
"There's a Charms Club?" Albert countered.
"Of course, there is." For some reason, Field smiled mischievously. "But be careful not to overlap with the Transfiguration Club."
"What kind of expression is that on your face?"
"Nothing, really."
"By the way, Professor Flitwick must be disappointed. Why weren't you sorted into Ravenclaw?" Field suddenly said.
"What does it matter? Don't we all learn the same things?" Albert replied without thinking.
"That's true." Field pointed to the parchment. "If you ever invent this thing for real, remember to give me one. If it's too expensive, I won't be able to afford it."
"Don't worry, if I ever actually invent it, I'll give you one!" Albert's lips twitched, and he muttered under his breath, "But I need to actually invent it first!"
"I suggest you take a look at books on alchemy. You might actually succeed!" Field pondered for a moment and said, "Magic lamps, I'm kind of looking forward to it!"
"Alchemy?" Albert murmured. When it came to alchemy, he thought of Nicolas Flamel.
Ancient alchemy should refer to chemistry, right? What would wizarding alchemy be? Would it be related to chemistry as well, or something else entirely?
After chatting a bit more with Field, Albert packed up his things and left. He planned to rest in the dormitory for a while and then organize the items he would give to his family.
As for alchemy, he would think about it after he finished reading "A Selection of Nineteenth-Century Spells"!
One should take things one step at a time, or else there's a risk of choking.
"Who was that just now?" Shanna followed behind Albert and asked curiously. She had overheard parts of their conversation.
"Field, we're in the same club. She's really skilled in Transfiguration," Albert organized his words briefly and continued, "I just asked her how to correct mistakes on parchment."
"You mean the Transfiguration Charm?" Shanna raised an eyebrow. "But that's the difficulty of N.E.W.T. level!"
"Do you know what N.E.W.T. is?"
Shanna was also taken aback. Yeah, what was the difficulty of N.E.W.T.?
She really had no idea.
"A person should have dreams. If you don't think about it, you'll never achieve it!"
"I just want to know the difficulty of N.E.W.T."
Albert sighed lightly. "It's the ultimate wizarding examination in seventh year."
Shanna's expression became a bit wooden, then she sighed softly, "Whether it's the ultimate wizarding examination or the Transfiguration Charm, they're both too far away from me. Yeah, too far!"
She hadn't even learned a basic Transfiguration spell yet, and she expected to learn the Transfiguration Charm?
Wake up, Shanna. First, learn Transfiguration. That's the most important thing right now.
Albert also realized Shanna's dilemma and felt a bit awkward. Changing the subject, he asked, "I'm heading back to the common room. Want to come together?"
"Whenever you're free, could you teach me Transfiguration?" Shanna noticed a problem. Although the courses at Hogwarts were relatively easy, if she wanted to complete her homework or learn magic, she had to rely on her own initiative. If she just went through Hogwarts aimlessly until graduation, she probably wouldn't learn any useful skills.
