Chapter 33: Microcosmos and Macrocosmos

"And you will end up being played. Knowing your personality, I don't think you want that." Darwin's response hit something home in Sigmund's psyche. "Even though you would end up as a lowly mage, having me with you would also compel you to become overpowered as you deal with potential enemies."

"I think I have to accept my fate now. Hahaha!" Sigmund laughed as his jovial mood radiated a sense of acceptance, considering his role did not place him at any kind of risk. To have that god power, he must play what the gods, he learned before, should be playing.

"I now understand the texts about gods, being on a pedestal as the mortals worship them."

Sigmund rose from his seat and transferred to another with a table placed with a complete set of teapots and cups. "When you have this power, it is very likely for you to get bored. Hence, I understand why gods went to the process of creating humans and other living things and even non-living things through the craftsmanship of his creations."

He picked a teacup and manipulated its content from cold tea to hot spirit tea. "It's about entertainment. If the gods are really benevolent, then they would find ways to eradicate evil. But then there are evil gods. The Cosmic structure of yin and yang is always in a cycle where the light and dark would always be at war. Or they can decide to ceasefire but it doesn't mean the evil will be eliminated."

Darwin immediately transferred to a nearby couch by teleportation. "To live in the universe is to gain experiences. The Source entertains itself by sending the souls, which are part of it to occupy different vessels and from there it could learn the various aspects of life in several universes, galaxies, stars, and planets. He invents polarities to attain balance. If beings remain at the site of evil, they will lose hope for redemption. But then a being living in constant joy, benevolence, and vitality can be ignorant of the existence of darkness, of evil. There is a likelihood of them leading complacent lives and even boredom. Even an evil being can reach realization and decide that they will also experience the light."

Sigmund conformed as he said, "True."

"The cycle of rebirth and death brings opportunities to souls to experience various vessels and various settings to experience life in the universe. But there's a privilege to the soul when he attains the realization that he can also become a god, a part of the source but can also be a source for another universe. That's why there is a god creator as he attempts to create a microcosmos, but this microcosmos is still part of a bigger macrocosmos."

"The profundity of the universe remains mysterious. But in your case, as you reach that rank, you manage to gain the insights of a god. In my case, having this god power, I have realized the concept of god as being a creator and also as a being with the power to manipulate. But it's up to a god to exercise manipulation. In my case, I would like it for the greater good. When I was a member of that mystical order, I remember certain texts about the role of beings with superior power. One of which is to create, develop, and guide civilizations.

"When I have given you that quest, it was not really me deciding it for yourself," Darwin spoke as he reminded Sigmund about the quest to raise the latter's experience points.

"I understand. You are a part of me. I think this is meant to happen as I failed to do that in the previous world." Sigmund released a sigh as he was compelled to face a realization about the impossible feat to return to the previous universe.

"You know you can't anymore return to that universe."

"I am fully aware of that but I sometimes question the reason for having that limitation," Sigmund stated as he faced the area of his home with the spirit tree.

The more he learned of his power, the more he was motivated to issue changes on his planet and to Greston Village as his laboratory experiment.

"But then, you can still send a fragment of your soul to that universe." Darwin stared at Sigmund as their conversation always stepped on subjects that seemed mystical and enigmatic to mortals. They already had that realization that certain things impossible for others were more possible for them to accomplish. But of course, limitations were set because of the existence of Cosmic Laws.

"As I assimilate your consciousness to me, I have learned more about the intricacies of Cosmic Laws. I am reminded of the time when I was defending a case but I always made a point to look at the judge, trying to put myself in his shoes. The judge oversaw the court from his pedestal. He could bring judgment at a certain point in time but his reasoning to reach a decision must be aligned with the Constitution or in precedent cases. If I put myself in his shoes with the current circumstances, my action should always be aligned with Cosmic Laws. I think you understand my thinking as you were also a lawyer in your previous life."

"But then you have that power over certain beings, even the whole continent."

Darwin's statement managed to elicit a simple shrug from Sigmund as a form of response.

"But I have to say, the more I play this role, the more it's getting interesting. It dissolves certain boredom." Sigmund's casual take on his role brought certain satisfaction to Darwin's sea of soul consciousness.

"So what's your next move?" Darwin asked.

"Well, you wanted me to raise my experience points. I will do just that. All you have to do is to guide me." Sigmund's smile sent more optimism as their plan went into motion.

"I will check those who were put into slavery."

Sigmund exited his space and arrived inside a large warehouse, properly decorated to temporarily house the people that were rescued from being sold into slavery.
