Chapter 79: Why now?

Sarah couldn't help but feel puzzled when Dave was sent to fetch her instead of a maid. Despite being Luna, she couldn't deny that Dave, as the Alpha's brother, held a higher position within the pack.

"Well, in that case, I will take my leave," Dave glanced at Charlotte one last time before turning his back and walking away.

"That cunning man," Sarah muttered, glaring at his retreating figure. She then smiled at Charlotte and said, "I will be back soon," excusing herself to attend to the guests who wanted to see her.

Charlotte decided to retreat to her room to avoid any chance encounters with Dave. While trying to sneak back, she suddenly found herself dragged into a dark room and silenced with a firm hand to prevent her from making any noise.

Struggling to break free, Charlotte stopped when she heard a familiar groan and recognized the person holding her captive.

"It's me, Dave," he whispered.
