"Captain, it seems we can't proceed any further. There's a massive layer of ice blocking our way," one of the crew members said, gazing at the thick ice spreading across Marineford Bay while lying on the ship's rail.
"Hehehe, this ice layer is nothing more than a minor obstacle! The real action is happening inside," other crew member chuckled confidently.
"Absolutely! We've come so close, and they haven't even noticed our presence yet."
"Do you think they're underestimating us?"
With faint smiles on their faces, the crew observed the ongoing battle in Marineford Bay.
Meanwhile, Carnes stood at the bow, his eyes fixed on the figure standing atop the Moby Dick's bow in the bay, feeling a surge of emotions within him.
"It's been decades but seeing that guy's back still fills me with nostalgia and excitement."
With a smile on his face, Carnes turned his attention forward and spoke calmly, "Let's break through the ice! We're going in!"
As soon as Carnes spoke, Ulquiorra Cifer, donned in a white one-piece robe with a Murciélago also called ( "Murushierago" or "Great Black-Winged Demon" ) hanging from his waist, took a couple of slow steps forward.
"Clang~"
The sound of unsheathing sharp long swrods echoed through the air.
Ulquiorra Cifer drew the Murushierago from his waist and raised it slowly, slashing down at the thick ice barrier before him.
"Shua!!"
"Clang!!!"
The sound of air being pierced was deafening as an emerald green saber light, emanating a destructive aura, sliced through the ice with incredible force.
The brilliant light illuminated the entire Marineford, casting its radiant glow over the battlefield in the bay.
Those on the battlefield sensed the sudden and terrifying aura that enveloped the area.
All present turned their heads subconsciously, their attention drawn to the source of the disturbance.
But the moment they looked, their eyes were met with a colossal, emerald-green saber light.
In the very next instant, a deafening roar echoed through the air.
The ice surrounding the frozen battlefield in Marineford Bay shattered, and both Marines and pirates within a few meters were forcefully hurled backward.
"Boom!!!"
"Boom!!!"
"Ugh!!!"
The cries of both Marines and pirates resonated momentarily but were swiftly overwhelmed by the resounding echoes of the sword's power.
"Boom boom!!!"
The seawater, previously trapped beneath the ice, surged out with unstoppable force!
The sheer might emanating from the blade's glow shook Marineford to its core.
Thick white water vapor ascended, enveloping the battlefield in a dense fog, shrouding half of Marineford Bay.
Yet, the fog's dominance was short-lived as a gust of sea breeze swept it away, revealing the enormous cracks on the battlefield.
Gazing at the vast chasm, tens of meters wide, stretching from the outer edges of the bay to its inner walls, everyone present, whether Marine or pirate, stood frozen in disbelief and horror.
"What... what is this?!"
"The ice... it was split?!"
"Who did it?!"
At that very moment, the war came to a temporary halt.
Both the Marines and Pirates engaged in the ferocious battlefield at the bay all tacitly paused their movements, turning their heads to follow the direction of the source of a looming threat.
Even Fleet Admiral Sengoku, standing on the execution platform, and the mighty Emperor, Whitebeard, aboard the Moby Dick, couldn't help but turn their heads, their attention drawn to the approaching danger.
There, amidst the tension, sailing majestically appeared a silver-white ship adorned with a skull flag topped by a regal crown fluttering high above the mast sail.
On the bow of the ship stood a young man, his presence exuding an aura of power.
Both Sengoku and Whitebeard couldn't help but feel a jolt of surprise. Their involuntarily contracted in shock.
Sengoku's face contorted in an unbelievably horrified expression, and he muttered in a barely audible voice, "Carnes?! Why is he here?!"
At the Sabaody Archipelago,
Beneath the towering big screen, a group of photographers and reporters were taken aback by the sudden intrusion of the silver-white ship into the ongoing battlefield.
"Who is this? Is it a reinforcement from Whitebeard?"
"Are they insane? They dare to break into the encirclement like that?"
But soon, amidst the confusion, one of the reporters recognized the distinct skull flag with a crown and exclaimed in astonishment,
"That flag... it's them! It's the Gale Emperor Pirates!"
"The Gale Emperor Pirates?! Are you talking about Carnes', the strongest member of the Worst Generation with a bounty of 1,093,000,000 Berries?!"
"Yes, that's them!"
"Surprisingly, Carnes has formed an alliance with Whitebeard. Fearless and undeterred, they've come to Marineford together to lend a hand!"
In this moment, Carnes had been subconsciously affiliated with the Whitebeard Pirates in the minds of many reporters and photographers present there.
He was regarded as one of Whitebeard's subordinates who had come here to help him.
In the background, Bonney and other affiliated pirates of the Gale Emperor Pirates observed Carnes, who had just arrived at Marineford, and they rushed over to join him.
Feeling somewhat dizzy and overwhelmed, Bonney held her forehead and helplessly exclaimed,
"These guys are out of their minds! Breaking into Marineford at this time, do they want to die?"
"Leaving Marine aside, just the sheer number of Whitebeard's forces makes our crew of few hundred members look like nothing at all. It isn't enough to fight him."
"What kind of enmity and grudge could lead you to come all the way to Marineford to kill him now of all times?"
"Why are you excited to face the certain doom?"
"Get a grip on reality, you foolish captain!" Bonney cursed, while rubbing her forehead.
Meanwhile, at Marineford...
The Eternal Gale, gracefully sailed into the Marineford Bay, navigating the broken ice due to Ulquiorra Cifer attack.
On the deck, all the crew members were ready for action.
Albedo was donned in a pitch-black armor, carrying a black kite shield in one hand, and a Black axe emitting dark light in the other.
Standing behind Carnes on the left were Albedo, Demiurge, and the Six Paths of Pain.
To his right were Ulquiorra Cifer, Uchiha Obito, Okkotsu Yuta, and Power.
"Hey, Captain! Are our enemies Marines or Pirates, who are we going up against?" Power asked with excitement, turning her head.
Carnes glanced at the battlefield in the bay and replied calmly,
"Everyone you see there is the enemy."
"Carnes!!!!"
Suddenly, a roar shaking its own foundations echoed throughout the Marineford.
"Garp!!"
On the execution platform, upon hearing Garp's furious roar, Sengoku called out in a deep voice, attempting to calm him down.
However, it seemed to have no effect at all.
Simultaneously, Carnes also turned his head to look towards the source of the roar
There, beneath the execution platform, dressed in a white Marine coat, stood Garp, his eyes wide open with fury, veins bulging on his forehead, glaring at Carnes.
For a moment, Carnes was taken aback, but then he put on a faint smile and said,
"I haven't seen you in decades, and you're still as lively as ever, Garp!"
Garp gritted his teeth, looking at Carnes with a cold voice shouted,
"After killing Tsuru, you still dare to show up here. I presume you're already prepared to face death?!"

"Ready?" Carnes couldn't help but feel a slight amusement. "What enlightenment, you may ask?
The realization that I'm here to kill all of you."
Witnessing Carnes' dismissive attitude towards killing Tsuru, Garp's anger surged even further, his voice taking on a cold, stern tone.
"I should have finished you off completely back then!"
"Don't act as if you spared me!" Carnes looked down at Garp, his tone filled with disdain.
"You? Showing mercy to me? Don't make me laugh."
"You, back then, no."
"It should have been the other way around."
"You didn't kill me because you couldn't, you didn't have the strength to do so, not then, not now."
As this exchange unfolded, the news of Carnes' arrival spread to all the Marines on the battlefield.
The mention of Carnes, the infamous newcomer, strongest member of worst generation with a bounty of 1 billion berries, sparked mixed reactions.
"Carnes? Is that him? The one with a bounty of 1 billion berries!"
"Just a rookie who gained a little bit of fame, thinking he can make a mark here?"
"Does he think he can make a name for himself here?"
"Did you hear what Vice Admiral Garp said? It sounds like this guy has known Garp for a long time!"
"It seems they have a history!"
"This guy clearly doesn't understand the situation. This is not the place for a rookie like him!"
"He's out of his league here. We have bigger fish to fry here, Whitebeard and his crew!"
Despite Carnes' appearance, the Marines didn't pay much attention.
After all, they were facing enemies like Whitebeard, the Emperor of the Sea, along with his 43 affiliated pirates.
A mere rookie like Carnes was considered insignificant in their eyes.
However, the reactions from the Whitebeard Pirates were quite the opposite.
The members of the Whitebeard Pirates stared at Carnes standing on the bow of the Eternal Gale, their expressions serious.
"Is that... Carnes? He's younger than I imagined! Could it be because he ate a Devil Fruit?"
The first division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, Marco, said in a hushed tone.
Hearing Marco's words, the pirates belonging to the 43 affiliated pirate groups couldn't help but laugh and jest.
"Carnes? Is he Ace's friend? He's got some guts. Coming to Marineford to support us at a time like this."
Marco was slightly taken aback by their assumption and turned to look at them.
Seeing the appreciative smile on their faces, Marco scratched his head helplessly and explained.
"He's not Ace's friend!"
"What? Isn't he here to rescue Ace?" one of the pirates asked, surprised.
Weren't all the people who came to Marineford at this time here to save Ace? If he's not Ace's friend, then what's he doing here?
"He's not like us; he's not here to save Ace! He's Pops's enemy, and... our enemy!"
As soon as this revelation came out, all the surrounding pirates were momentarily stunned, some finding it hard to believe.
"An enemy?"
"Marco, you're joking, right?"
"There aren't many people in this sea who can be considered an enemy by the old man. He's just a newcomer, and he can't be old man's enemy?"
"Yeah, Marco, this joke is a bit too much."
Marco looked at the puzzled crew, with a hint of helplessness in his tone.
"I'm not joking. You wouldn't know unless you were on the ship! But that's what Pops told us."
"Don't be fooled by his youthful appearance."
"This guy sailed with his father from a young age and has been on the sea ever since!"
"Besides, he was once Pops's crewmate, the Vice Captain of Rocks Pirate—the legendary pirate who became famous even before the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, the Gale Emperor Carnes!"
Marco's words were like a bombshell to those around him.
Their minds were blown away, and they were left in shock.
"Old man's crewmate?!"
"The legendary pirate who was famous before... the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger?!"
"Hey, hey, Marco, you... you're exaggerating a bit, right?"
In this moment, the surrounding pirates were stammering.
Their eyes shook as if experiencing an earthquake, and their faces displayed unprecedented horror.
In fact, deep down, they sensed some truth to Marco's words, but they didn't want to believe it, couldn't believe it!
In contrast, a group of Marines and generals nearby were also stunned after hearing Marco's words.
"Rocks Pirate Vice Captain, Whitebeard's... former crewmate????"
Meanwhile, on the bow of the Moby Dick on the other side, a low voice called out Carnes' name.
"Carnes!!!"
Carnes turned his head to see Whitebeard, standing on the bow of the Moby Dick, looking at him with cold eyes, and saying in a low voice.
"This time, and only this time, if you dare to cause trouble, I'll kill you on the spot!"
Hearing this, Carnes smiled instead of getting angry and slowly raised his hand and started clapping mockingly.
"Pops, Pops~ It's been decades since we last saw each other, and you're getting tougher with your words, but your threats haven't lost their edge!"
"How? Has the scar on your chest healed? Does it not hurt anymore?
Does it make you feel like you can take me down that easily?
Do you think you can kill me at will now, without a second thought?"
"What do you want here?" Sengoku's voice came from the execution platform.
Carnes turned to look, and for the first time, genuine emotions surfaced on his face.
"What do I want?"
"Of course, I came here to settle the grudges between us!"
"Why else do you think I came all this way?
To save someone? Don't make me laugh!"
"From the very beginning, my sole purpose has been to kill you all!"
