Chapter 95: Special Team

After listing the remaining teams, Iruka began to speak about their new responsibilities as Genin. "Being a Genin is not just a title. It's a commitment to your village, your comrades, and to yourself. You will be faced with life-changing choices. Make them wisely."

Everyone in the room sat up a bit straighter, feeling the gravity of his words.

After Iruka left, Ryomaru waited with Hanabi and Hinata, who looked excited yet sullen. Hanabi kept stealing glances at Ryomaru, her eyes filled with both happiness and a tinge of disappointment.

"I wish you were on our team," she finally blurted out.

Ryomaru chuckled. "We're still in the same village, aren't we? We'll cross paths."

Hinata looked out the window, her eyes distant. "If only Naruto were here," she muttered under her breath, her voice tinged with wistfulness.

Just then, Asuma walked into the room, his face stern but approachable. "Ino, Choji, come with me."

Ino and Choji got up and followed Asuma, Ino throwing a cheeky wink at Ryomaru as she left. Then, Kurenai arrived, looking every bit the seasoned Jounin she was.

"Sakura, Shino, Kiba, we have much to discuss. Follow me."

Sakura, Shino, and Kiba stood up, each wearing an expression of readiness. They filed out of the room, leaving Ryomaru, Hanabi, Hinata, and Temari behind.

Other Jounin senseis entered and collected their respective team members. One by one, the room emptied, until only the four of them remained. The tension in the air was palpable. Hinata sat with her hands clasped together, Hanabi tapped her foot nervously, and Temari looked like she was holding her breath.

As the door opened, all four looked at the door holding their breaths. When it revealed Samui and Mabui, everyone was taken aback.

Ryomaru got up. "Samui-nee, Mabui-nee, what are you doing here?" He was genuinely puzzled but also happy to see familiar faces.

The two women laughed at the expressions on the young ninjas' faces. Samui finally spoke, "Well, this is a special occasion. Ryomaru Yuki, Temari, Hyuga Hinata, and Hyuga Hanabi—until Kakashi Hatake and Naruto return to the village, and since two of you are here for the student exchange program, we'll form a six-member team to take on missions. This decision was taken by the Raikage-sama, the Hokage, and the Kazekage."

Hanabi's eyes sparkled, and she leaped up to hug Ryomaru. "Really?! This is so great!"

Hinata smiled warmly, her eyes meeting Ryomaru's for a moment. She felt content, knowing her friend would be near and seeing her sister so happy.

Temari's face broke into a grin, though a tiny part of her felt a slight sting of jealousy watching Hanabi hug Ryomaru. "Well, this is an unexpected but pleasant twist," she remarked.

Samui nodded, "We'll get the full briefing from the Hokage soon, but until then, consider yourselves a team. Any questions?"

Ryomaru shook his head, still absorbing the information. "None for now. But I assume we'll have our first mission soon?"

"Yes," Mabui confirmed, "you should be prepared for anything."

Hinata looked at Samui and Mabui, then back at her team. "I think this will be a good opportunity for all of us to grow and learn."

Samui grinned. "I couldn't agree more. Especially since you're all from different villages, this is a chance to understand each other's techniques and cultures. That's invaluable."

Mabui added, "Exactly. Working with people from different backgrounds will only make you stronger as a team and as individuals."

Temari nodded in agreement. "I've already learned a lot from being in Konoha. This just takes it to a whole new level."

Hanabi, who was still standing close to Ryomaru, finally let go of her hug. "So, when do we start training?"

"Tomorrow," Mabui announced. "Bright and early."

Ryomaru felt a surge of enthusiasm. "I look forward to it."

Samui and Mabui exchanged glances, then turned to the newly formed team. "We will have a meeting in an hour. Prepare yourselves; from tomorrow, the real work begins."

As Samui and Mabui left, the four young ninjas looked at each other. The room was thick with a mixture of anticipation, excitement, and a hint of nervous energy.

Temari was the first to break the silence. "So, a six-member team, huh? This will be interesting."

Ryomaru chuckled. "Interesting is one way to put it."

Hinata smiled, "I'm just glad we're all together. It somehow feels right."

After talking and celebrating for an hour, their excitement died down and the quartet arrived on the roof. Samui and Mabui were already there, leaning back against the railings, as the quartet sat on the stairs.

"Now," Samui started, and Mabui continued, "we already know each other, but let's take this opportunity to introduce ourselves in a more personal way. What are your likes, dislikes, dreams, and so on."

Ryomaru was the first to speak. "Alright, I'll go first. My biggest like has to be my mother, Miori. She means the world to me. Then, there's you two," he nodded at Samui and Mabui, "and my friends—B, Karui, Shiromi, Tsubaki, Temari, Hanabi, and Hinata. As for dislikes, I can't stand unnecessary evil. My dream? When I become Raikage, I want to create a haven—a place where I can live freely with my mother and friends."

Samui and Mabui exchanged approving glances. Mabui spoke up, "That's quite a noble dream, Ryomaru. You've always aimed high, and that's a good thing."

Hanabi was next. "Well, my likes include training, my family, and hanging out with friends. Dislikes? Laziness and dishonesty. My dream is to become a strong ninja, strong enough to protect my village and my family."

Hinata followed her sister. "I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and training to better myself. I dislike confrontation but understand it's sometimes necessary. My dream is to be a reliable ninja who can make my father and village proud."

Temari took her turn. "I like strategy, the winds of the desert, and being with my brothers. What I don't like is needless violence. As for my dream, I want to help create stronger bonds between the Sand and other villages."

Everyone looked at Samui and Mabui, curious about their turn.

Samui's eyes twinkled with a sense of duty as she spoke. "What fulfills me is discipline, the art of training, and the joy of seeing the next generation of ninja flourish. What I can't stand is disloyalty. My ultimate aspiration? To stand beside the one who will lead us into tomorrow, serving both him and our village to the utmost."

Completing the circle of introductions, Mabui mused, "I find pleasure in the realm of the mind—intellectual puzzles, intricate strategies, and effective leadership. Inefficiency irks me to no end. And as for my dream, it's to ascend the administrative ladder, aiming to aid in the village's prosperity under the guiding hand that will shape our future."

Ryomaru grinned. "It sounds like we've got a team of people who are committed to doing good and striving for more. I think we'll make a great team."

Hinata smiled warmly. "I couldn't agree more, Ryomaru. This feels like the start of something truly meaningful."

Temari let out a relaxed sigh. "I have to say, I'm really looking forward to what comes next."

Hanabi chimed in, "Yeah, this is going to be so awesome!"
