Chapter 110: Reckoning

Marcus easily maneuvered out of the way of the attack that was launched at him by the mage; however, once the boulder had flown past him, several trees behind him had been utterly destroyed as the sound of wood being broken permeated their portion of the forest.

'Sh*t. That's only going to draw more attention. This is getting out of hand.'

As Marcus eyed the two newcomers who had taken the vanguard position against him, he also noticed the other two guards falling back and seemingly about to head towards the portal, likely to gather further reinforcements for the troublesome adversary or to find a healer that could diagnosis whatever it was the omen had done to them, which would still result in reinforcements showing up.

Speaking of, Marcus was burning with curiosity as to why it was the two men hadn't shriveled up to bone dust and were still standing with only symptoms akin to that of the flu.
