Chapter 88: Onset

The next day, Marcus woke up feeling a bit anxious. He'd gotten plenty of rest last night, but when he woke up and recalled what Felicia had said, he couldn't help but be a bit worried.

As he sat up, he looked at the bed around him wondering if he'd be able to get out or not.

"Well this is just great. Guess I'll just-"

"Morning."

Marcus turned to see Alex standing at his tent's entrance with his arms crossed.

"Hm..."

As Marcus looked at Alex, the man seemed... different.

Somehow though, it was weirdly familiar, yet Marcus couldn't think of why that was.

Eventually he recalled the night Alex had been the one to retrieve him when he'd tried escaping.

On that night, Alex had this same expression on his face as when he'd caught Marcus. It was an expression of calm indifference, as if everything that had happened was exactly as he expected.
