Chapter 83: Toxic and Deceitful

As Marcus followed behind Alex, he kept looking around the camp suspiciously as if wondering if something would jump out and attack him. It hadn't been that long since Felicia broke off from he and Alex, so Marcus was looking out for her and any other traps Alex may have laid for him.

When Alex noticed Marcus was moving rather slowly behind him, he chuckled and spoke while continue to walk forward and not turning around.

"You can let your guard down kid. She ain't gonna attack this time."

Marcus continued to look from left to right, completely ignoring what Alex had said. He'd already grown somewhat used to Alex and his antics; the man was a habitual liar. Even disregarding his agonizing experience of trying to escape from the sly man the first time, Marcus almost never believed a single word that left the man's mouth.

Listening to him had gotten Marcus in plenty of troublesome situations while training with both he and Felicia.
