Chapter 66: How Embarrassing

Evil Shawn's movements are slowed for the Ravagers, who see his approach coming. Raising their railguns, they fire at him, aiming to maim but not kill, as he would be a suitable research subject.

Even though he's flying, his movements aren't dulled as to the average eye, he appears to be teleporting as he dodges the railgun bullets. His dodges don't have any discernible pattern, so the Ravagers can't accurately predict where he'll dodge next, so they just continue firing.

As he nears them, the orbs above his shoulders begin to rapidly fire on the Ravagers. The shots land on them and easily tear through their metal bodies as if like paper. The Ravagers have no choice but to pointlessly continue firing on Evil Shawn as they get picked off one by one.

He reaches their location, just as there is a single Ravager left. The Ravager lashes out, intending to hit him with the butt of his gun, but Evil Shawn merely flies backwards out of its reach before knocking the gun out of its hands. He grabs both the Ravagers arms and, with little effort, pull them off the omnic before tossing them to the side.

Placing his hands on the Ravager, he begins to focus. Anubis, who was watching his every movement till the point, begins to speak through the Ravager.

"Enjoy your small victory here while you can. A battle may have been won, but this war is far from over. By the end of it, you'll be begging me to keep you alive." He rants.

Ignoring him completely, he finds what he's searching for. Using the frequency that Anubis is currently on, he sends a message for all omnics in New York to attack each other. In Anubis' moment of confusion, he kicked him off the frequency for an hour so he couldn't immediately overwrite his order. Done with his job, he crushes the Ravager's head, not caring for the omnic that he once was.

He could have just sent that message to every omnic under Anubis' control throughout the world, but he didn't want to make it too easy on Shawn. He thinks on how he could inconvenience Shawn further but decides that a point was made here already and begins to fly towards where the rest of his team is.

....

New York City was in a state of utter chaos as every human watched omnics destroy each other. Bastion units would gun one down, before turning to another. Huntsmen struggled to target a single target and would constantly turn to recalculate its aim.

Any human who was previously barely surviving and struggling to escape New York took this as a sign to leave. Under the new orders of Evil Shawn, no omnic, even Ravagers in New York, were concerned about humans.

Overwatch operatives saw when Evil Shawn turned omnics to their side, but they couldn't discern friend from foe. Under Rein's orders, the team ignored the carnage going on around them as they headed towards the edge of the city where extraction was.

Aside from watching for stray bullets, they made it to the outskirts of New York City, ready to leave at any time. The supporters grew anxious as they wanted nothing more to leave as the exit was before them, but wondered why they remained in danger. The guy with the bison's head stepped towards Reinhardt, who was now calling the shots.

"The exits right there, why aren't we leaving?" He asked with impatience.

"We are waiting for someone." Reinhardt said while staring at the sky.

"You mean that AA battery? He's got other things to worry about. Plus, we all saw what he's capable of, he can leave whenever he wants to. So, let's go." He pleads to Reinhardt and the other Trump supporters begin to rally behind him.

Reinhardt turns to them, "We are Overwatch. No one gets left behind. So long as he wears that uniform, he represents us. Therefore, he won't leave us either. But don't let us keep you, if you got somewhere to be, go right ahead without us."

His tone and face leave no room for negiotation as he motions towards the exit. The Trump supporters decide to wisely calm down and wait as they realize that they don't know where the extraction location is and don't want to look for it.

They don't have to wait for long, as a familiar figure walks around the building they were using as cover. All guns point towards him as they hear his walking, but quickly lower as he's recognized.

Evil Shawn walks boldly past the soldiers, who all start to prepare to move out. He makes no attempt to stop walking as he exits New York City, with Reinhardt right next to him.

"You may not answer to me, but I will include all of what happened here in the report. Is there anything you want to say now before I do?" Reinhardt tells him.

Evil Shawn stops walking and turns to Rein, his face showing no emotions.

"Was that a threat?" He asks Rein.

"Our backs were against the wall in a trap laid by the omnics. When all seemed to be lost, Shawn Rose showed a power unlike anything we've ever seen, providing us with a means of escape. What did you think I was going to report?" Reinhardt responds.

Evil Shawn smirks, "You can put anything you want on that report, I won't be the one answering any questions. Shawn will." Having said that, he continues on towards the extraction, leaving those who heard the conversation with more questions.

As any human who was able to escapes New York City, Anubis finally connects back to the frequency, reestablishing control over the now little number of omnics who remain there. Ordering reinforcements from nearby omniums, his attention turns elsewhere.

He had a lot of work to do, for his interaction with Shawn revealed many mistakes on his part. Plus, there was something that Shawn had inadvertently shown him that he needed to understand, which required his full attention. A new power that should he cross paths with him again, he would come out on top this time.
