Echoes of laughter and soft whispers resonated through the guest room of the Investigation Bureau.

Daniel sat on the edge of the bed, with Sophia nestled on his lap. 

It seemed she had taken the effort to dress up; her hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, and she wore a ultra-short dress that showcased her pale, long legs, which were now wrapped around Daniel's waist. 

The scent of her perfume wafted into his nostrils.

"Why didn't you call me? I've missed you so much!" Sophia's eyes were misty, and her lips quivered slightly.

Overwhelmed by the sight of her, Daniel leaned in, gently biting her shoulder in playful affection.

The sharp bite made Daniel wince in pain, but he suppressed any urge to cry out. 

It was only when he felt the warm wetness on his shoulder did he gently pat Sophia's back, "Honey, it's not that I didn't want to call you."

"I've just been too caught up these past days," he explained.
