Chapter 48: Needed people around him

Alexander was about to see something but Amber spoke first.

"Thank you for your concern Mr. De-Martin. I will take better care of myself in the future." Amber said with a broken smile on her lips.

It's like she didn't notice how bad her health was but she couldn't just use the money she was gaining from the bar to go to the doctor and leave her family hungry. But he doesn't know that she has a family. To him, she was Amber, the orphan girl who was raised in an orphanage home.

Alexander watched as she put the cup on the table and pushed the covers off her body. She was trying to leave the bed.

"What are you doing?" Alexander asked as he got up.

"I need to leave," Amber replied, trying to get off the bed but Alexander stopped her.

"You can't. You're sick." Alexander said as he pushed her back on the bed.
