Chapter 65: (64)

I'm still trying to find at least one signal bar on Camilla's cellphone as I walk to the storage room. I moved the cell phone around in my hands, wondering if someone would pick it up.

To my disappointment, I found nothing upon trying so hard to find a signal. Until I entered the dusty storage room, my attention was still on the cellphone.

I caught up with Chren, who seemed very surprised to see me. His eyes widened even more.

I raised an eyebrow at him.

"What?" I asked.

I caught a sudden frown on his forehead, along with a sudden change in his emotions.

From the shock, it seemed to be replaced by confusion.

What was so shocking about my sudden entry into the storage room?

"You... you just came?" He stuttered the question.

I nodded in confusion.

"Yes," I just came in. Why? Is there a problem?" I asked back.

"Nothing," he answered.

He immediately turned around, ignoring my existence. I was suddenly confused by his actions.

It was as if he had seen a ghost.

Do I look like a ghost?

Instead of amplifying what I noticed about Chren, I just helped to find what we could use to find the signal. Maybe that person is just tired too.

CAMILLA

I am still working on my body's wounds. I don't want to add to the worries of my companions.

Abi took my cellphone to look for a signal.

I closed my eyes tightly when I felt the pain of the scratches on my face.

Damn that ugly pig.

I was just exhausted in my mind.

Instead of making more noise, I just lay down next to Miss Aya. Lily and I were in the middle of him, who was now sound asleep. Macey was at Miss Aya's feet, occasionally caressing her cheek.

I smiled.

The kid is sweet.

I still wonder why Lily was squealing earlier while running. She did not speak when he woke up from fainting, so we did not know the reason.

I just chose to stop myself from asking more questions because he would say that when he was upset.

"Hey." I heard Macey say.

I didn't know who he was calling, but I chose to look back at her. I thought she was talking to one of the two sleeping next to me. But I realized it was me.

"Yes? Do you need anything? Are you hungry?" I asked consecutively.

She shook her head. "No." She answered.

I haven't been able to speak yet because I don't know how to talk to a child. I'm not used to it.

I noticed the persistence of his gaze on me.

"Do your wounds hurt?" she asked after a couple of seconds.

It's fine. It doesn't hurt, baby. You don't have to worry." I am assured.

"You should take a nap too. You're next to Aya."

"Just be careful, you might touch her scars," I suggested.

"Okay." She agreed.

"Good girl."

I smiled again as he put his small arms around Miss Aya's thigh.

It's fun.

Macey fell asleep quickly. Soon they were both fast asleep.

I, on the other hand, remained staring at the ceiling. Sometimes there is a sigh or my mind floats.

I looked at my companions one by one.

Miss Aya occasionally frowned as she closed her eyes, as if struggling because of the wounds she had sustained.

Macey tightly hugged Miss Aya's leg.
