Chapter 47: (46)

"Come on, get up, kid. The snake might catch up." I told her.

The kid held my hand tight. "It... it hurts," she said in between her sobs.

"It hurts my knees." It pointed to his knee, which was now bleeding from a fall.

"Alright, come on. We need to go. We can bite a snake. Do you want to be bitten by that big snake? "

She shook her head.

"No."

She quickly forced him to stand up.

I grabbed his hand again to run faster.

Behind us there were four.

They still tried to stone the snake despite the sweat that was now dripping from their foreheads.

We still keep running away from that snake, occasionally stopping to look for a usable defense against it.

The boy also picked up some small rocks.

Even in the dark, we could hardly hit the snake.

We are both tired from running.

Sweaty and breathless.

Some time later, I saw a sharp stick on one side. I was confused. I picked it up and bowed to the snake.

I also put the child on my back so that if the snake fights, it will not reach the child immediately.

With trembling hands, I hurriedly kicked the sharp end of the wood into the snake's head.

Its blood dripped.

I let out an accented scream after making sure the snake I had cut with my own hands was still not moving.

I faintly sat on the dirty floor.

I wiped the blood splattered on my foot with the end of my dress.

The girls did the same.

The four sat next to me, no longer bothered by the dirt that clung to their clothes.

For a few seconds, no one spoke to us until I felt the little girl's hands. He gently touched my cheek.

I turned to the child and lightly patted his head.

After resting for a few more minutes, I stood up to look for anything that could be used as a first aid for the little girl's wound.

The four also got up and looked for a clean seat again.

While the child was still holding my hand.

I found an herbal plant nearby.

When I got enough leaves, I went to the seat of the four. It was already dark, so Lily used the flashlight on her cellphone as a light.

I sat the child next to Lily to heal her wound.

"This might sting a bit, but we have to treat your wound, okay?" I reminded her.

She nodded.

"Okay."

I slowly rubbed the juice of the herb that I had squeezed on his knee. Lily and Abi entertain him to somehow alleviate the pain caused by the herbal medicine.

"What's your name?" Abi asked.

"Macey." The kid answered.

Lily nodded. "Oh, hello Macey. I'm Lily's sister." She introduces herself. "This is Abi, Camilla, and Francine." She taught the three one by one. "And the beautiful nurse wannabe who's treating you right now is Sister Aya."

I laughed. "Silly."
