Jia Li witnessed how hurt Xianwu looked by his mother's attempts. She thought it would be a pleasant meeting, where his mother would apologize to him for neglecting him. However, it turned out to be a disaster for Xianwu. 

She went toward them and pulled up Lady Lixue. Standing in front of Xianwu, Jia Li confronted his mother. "The Crown Prince doesn't support the wrongdoings of anyone. I was a fool to let you meet my husband. A mother is selfless, but you are not."
