Chapter 135: Encounter with Eagle

Jia Li widened her eyes and held her breath as the sharp arrow broke the wall of the palanquin. Just at the right time, with his speedy reflex, Xianwu caught the arrow which would have hit the center of Jia Li's eye, and pulled her down. 

Chaos happened outside, and the screams of the servants could be heard. The porters were shot dead and the palanquin wavered before it fell on the ground. 

Xianwu tightly held Jia Li, not wanting her to get hurt in the process. The sounds of people falling after getting shot could be heard with a loud thud. 

"Stay inside. Like this," Xianwu said and he dashed out of the palanquin. He looked at the palanquin in which the Emperor and the Empress were present. His father was protecting them. 

Xianwu gazed at a soldier, who was lying lifeless on the ground. He picked up the bow and wore the quiver. He checked from where arrows were being shot. 

"Your Royal Highness!" Chen Xin said, checking him if he was alright.
