Chapter 64: 63. A Fatal Strike

(T/N: Sorry For No Update i had a school presentation. My laptop devloped an issue.)

--------------------

As Hu Liena spoke inwardly, she witnessed a dark figure darting out from beside her. A brilliant silver moon suddenly materialized before her. As solid as a closed door, water couldn't penetrate it.

Hu Liena knew this was her brother Xie Yue's newly developed self-created spirit technique called "Full Moon." It was powerful, but it had its obvious drawbacks.

Xie Yue expressed his stance through his actions. So..... She wouldn't give up either!

Hu Liena closed her eyes, instantly calming the turmoil within her heart. When she opened her eyes again, they were filled with determination.

When faced with danger, she would indeed abandon those who were not close to her without hesitation, even temporary teammates!

"Madness!" The three-eyed Jin Yan's voice carried a hint of exasperation.

After all, tonight's hunt had been filled with too many twists and turns.

At first, she had whimsically wanted to change the taste, but then she finally found the large spider, only to discover that it had sensed her presence and fled.

It fled without leaving a trace. It took her a long time to catch up.

Then, while attacking the large spider, a certain annoying insect got involved. And it seemed that this small insect had irritated another insect, resulting in the two insects joining forces to unleash a powerful wave that restricted her every move.

Fortunately, the three-headed beast arrived just in time and rescued her.

Then, in order to make up for the mistake, the three-headed beast insisted on bringing the assassin to justice, and she had agreed.

At this point, after running around all afternoon, she suddenly felt hungry again.

In desperation, she had no choice but to give up the snacks she had obtained and chase after the delicacies that were now within reach.

Unfortunately, just as she finally caught up, another group of equally bothersome insects blocked her path. These insects proved to be much tougher opponents than she had anticipated, and they were highly resistant to attacks.

Glancing at her disheveled fur with grievances, anger filled the golden pupils of the three-eyed golden lion. How dare they mess up her appearance! It was simply unforgivable!.

Large amount of golden flames suddenly erupted from the dragon's claws, and the three-eyed golden lion extended its claws, fiercely swatting at the small insect in front of it.

Already hungry! She had no intention of delaying any longer!!

The golden beast claws shattered the Full Moon technique like bamboo, and then struck Xie Yue's chest with undiminished force.

With a bone-cracking sound that made the scalp tingle, a deep gush formed on Xie Yue's chest. He was sent flying, crashing into a tree trunk.

Blood spurted out as if it were in a hurry. In his current state, Xie Yue resembled a dying fish left on the beach after low tide, eliciting a sense of discomfort just from looking at him.

It was a feeling of powerlessness, wanting to die quickly but unable to do so, slowly losing consciousness in suffocation.

"Brother!"

A piercing scream pierced through the night.

Hu Liena struggled to rush over but was pinned to the ground by the three-eyed golden lion.

Xie Yue's eyes grew dull. Was his consciousness about to fade away? Next to him, a metal fragment caught his attention. It looked familiar—it was a small piece of his martial spirit Moonblade. And then there was his sister, Nana.

Violently coughing up a mouthful of blood, Xie Yue swiftly raised his hand and grasped the remaining half of the moon blade.

"If you don't want to die in a pitiful state, then don't."

A bony palm suddenly appeared, pressing down on Xie Yue's hand, preventing him from raising the knife any further.

Although blood blurred his vision and burned his eyes, Xie Yue knew that the person before him was the boy with a evil sense of humor.

That sort of speech, saying everything and nothing at the same time, perfectly matched his mischievous nature.

Shaking his head with regret, the boy's face revealed a hint of emotion.

"Brother! It's only been a few minutes, and look at what you've become?"

"Are you trying to assist me? Are you deliberately luring a hero to save the beauty? Or do you want to impress your sister with your formidable strength?"

"But the price you paid is too high, isn't it?"

The young man couldn't help but express his admiration, picking up a small metal fragment and examining it briefly.

"Your martial spirit has been shattered, yet you're acting tough. Have you ever considered what will happen if your sister and I get married, but you're no longer here?"

"How will you settle that account?"

As he rambled on, Lu Yuan unconsciously diverted from the topic. Listening to the meaningless words of this incomprehensible guy, Xie Yue felt a surge of blood rush to his head, as if he were about to spray it all over Lu Yuan's face.

At a time like this, what was he still doing here? If he wanted to help, he should help quickly. And if he didn't want to help, he should leave promptly. Wasn't he intentionally annoying people here?

"Don't get angry, after all..."

The young man crouched down, raised his hand, and gently patted Hu Liena's bewildered head. He rubbed it contentedly, then continued the second half of his sentence:

"After all... I'm not a good person either."

"!"

The dragon claw swung aimlessly, only catching a cloud of air. The three-eyed Jin Yan glared angrily at the small insect that had suddenly appeared.

It was him. It was him who snatched the food from her hands like a toothless tiger.

The terrified thoughts were gradually soothed by the warm palm on her head. Hu Liena let out a long breath and gazed at her brother, who lay there severely injured and on the brink of death.

Huh? Why did her perspective seem odd? In front her eyes, a large, fluffy tail swayed. Looking up along the tail, Hu Liena saw a triumphant yellow squirrel. For some reason, she detected a hint of mockery and rivalry in the squirrel's eyes.

Feeling as if she were going crazy, Hu Liena vigorously shook her head and stood up from the ground.

"You..."

She stopped herself mid-sentence. She had too many questions to ask. But these questions weren't meant to be asked at this moment.

"I truly apologize for not joining the show. It's highly unprofessional."

Lu Yuan chuckled to himself and then reached out, pressing his hand against Xie Yue's chest.

"If you want to die, then go ahead."

The sound of bones cracking was bone-chilling.

Xie Yue's eyes bulged, and he spread his fingers, clutching the soil on the ground fiercely, as if it could alleviate the intense pain coursing through his body.

The gush on her chest visibly healed. Having witnessed this, Xie Yue relaxed slightly and slipped into unconsciousness.

"What a tough nut to crack."

Lu Yuan slowly withdrew his hands into his sleeves and calmly praised. Among the people present, he was the only one who could silently and motionlessly reshape bones.

The new generation leader of Spirit Hall was undeniably strong.
