I will wring Haratek's neck for giving me incomplete information! The inhabitants of this planet are us, marine animals and humans! As if! Then explain the fucking pirate orks attacking the port! Calm down, this is an imperium planet, this place must have some kind of defense, whether automated or the Planetary Defense Force, they should be here soon.
But time passed and no one showed up, the orks kept shooting at the port, and when there was no one left in the port they fired at the city, cannonballs started to destroy the buildings made of wood or stone. This wasn't a very advanced planet, was it? Aside from the tech ships, I couldn't see any kind of defense in the harbor.
Maybe I should do something? I know that I must remain hidden to avoid drawing the attention of the imperium, but even though I am a Necron, I am still human and this vision bothers me, I moved my arm in front of the screen again, the point of view changed, this time I was seeing the streets of city on the island, people were running desperately towards a large metal gate further into the city.
The gate was part of a large metal wall, it looks like this place has a kind of defense in the end. But will everyone get there safely? I got my answer when a cannonball landed in the middle of a fleeing crowd, the cannonball hit the ground creating a crater, luckily it didn't seem to hit anyone directly.
The disoriented people were getting up, but suddenly.
BEEP!
The cannonball started to glow red.
BEEP!
Don't tell me this is a...
BEEP!
BEEP!
BEEP!
I could see the eyes of everyone in the crowd widening as they realized what the cannonball was.
BOOM!
The cannonball exploded in a shower of blood and guts, body parts flying everywhere, men, women and children torn to pieces. Enough! I have to do something! But what? The tomb is in a deplorable state, I don't know what was activated or not, maybe some Necron warriors are available. But how do I wake them up?
Necron warriors need constant instruction. Without orders, a Necron Warrior will go into a guard state, taking out any enemies that get too close. But there is a "problem", so to speak, once given the order, a Necron Warrior will not stop until he is killed or fulfills that order.
If I screw up, the situation could get worse.
Let's see, how do I activate my warriors? I tried to concentrate, "closed" my eyes and emptied my mind, I felt something strange, it was like a series of necron codes and protocols, then I felt a connection, it was like I was putting my email and password to enter an account on a website, this connection wanted to know my authority, wanted to know if I was the Overlord, I "grabbed" the connection.
When I opened my "eyes" I was underwater, I was seeing through the eyes of a necron warrior, but just one is not enough, I need more to sink the ship, a squadron of necron warriors is composed of five to twenty necrons, so three squads should be enough, after all I don't plan to fight directly.
I focused again and felt the connection, then gave the order.
"Sink the scrap metal ship and eliminate the orks."
In a tomb at the bottom of the ocean, sixty necron warriors awoke with an order coursing through their systems, their Overlord had commanded and they would do his will, one by one, the warriors' heads lifted, green light pouring from their eyes and shining through their bodies.
The warriors grabbed their Gauss Flayers and with stiff movements marched out of the tomb through the hole that time had opened in their sleeping place, each slow step raised a cloud of sand, fish and other sea animals swam or scrambled out of the way of skeletal warriors.
Their rusty bodies covered in seaweed and barnacles moved towards the ork ship, eventually they reached the ship, but before it could attack their Overlord sent a second order.
"Surround the ship."
And the warriors obeyed, forming a perfect circle around the ship, the warriors pointed their weapons upwards and fired, the moment the green rays of their weapons reached the bottom of the ship, the pieces of metal that formed it were destroyed on a molecular level.
The warriors would only stop when their orders were carried out.
"Keep shooting boyz, theze puny hummies dun't have a chance!" A particularly large ork commanded his lesser as he watched the attack through a telescope on the ship's.
The ork wore a pirate hat with an ork skull and crossbones drawn on it, a long black coat open to expose his chest, a leather belt, brown pants and boots, attached to his belt was a shotta and choppa adorned in gold.
"Cap!" A smaller ork screamed as he climbed out of the ship, this ork was wet from head to toe.
"What's itz?!" The captain shouted.
"We'ze sinking!"
"Wot?"
Before the smaller ork could explain what had happened a bright green beam pierced the ship and hit him in the chin, there was no time to scream, the ork's head was enveloped in a green light and when the light disappeared all that was left was a scorched skull, the ork's body then fell to the ground.
"Cap!" Other orks on the ship screamed, but the captain was unable to give orders, several green bolts began to pierce the ship from all sides, the ship began to fall apart, the pile of metal sinking into the ocean.
Then the captain gave the order "Abandon ship!"
The orks started to jump out of the ship, but as it sank into the water they never came back to the surface, if anyone other than the orks had been there to see it, they would have seen a faint green glow coming from under the water and small bubbles forming where the orks had thrown themselves.
The only ork that was left was the captain, after all the captain always sinks with his ship, a green ray hit the ship's mast and that mast began to fall towards the captain.
"Oh zogh!" Was all the captain managed to say before everything went dark.
"Return to the tomb and go back to sleep."
The Overlord ordered and the warriors obeyed, slowly they marched back to the tomb, entering through the same hole in the wall they positioned themselves between the sleeping warriors forming a perfect line, the light in their eyes went out and the warriors went back to sleep, waiting for their Overlord's next order.
Back to the throne room.
Well it could have been better, but at least I stopped the orks from doing more damage, but that's not over, it's never that easy to finish off orks, they are like a plague they are everywhere, it would be good to know where they are living on this planet and who is their leader.
When Haratek returns I will talk to him about the condition of the tomb. We need to be able to defend ourselves against a hostile force as soon as possible, because I doubt being underwater will stop the imperium from trying to destroy me.
The throne room door opened and Haratek entered and bowed.
"My Lord, I have here a report on the condition of our tomb. I also acquired up-to-date information about the planet and this so-called imperium. If you will forgive me, it seems I made a mistake earlier. There is one more species on this planet known as orks, stupid, primitive beings, and a remnant of the Kroks of old."
"I already know Haratek." I said with a sigh.
"Sorry to ask you my lord, but do you already know?"
"Yes, because in the five minutes you left to gather the information I had to deal with a group of orks causing trouble."
Haratek started shaking "My Lord I…"
I held out my hand for Haratek to stop talking "No more excuses. Just start your report."
"As you wish my lord." A green holographic screen appeared on Haratek's arm and the image on the screen in front of me changed.
I saw several words written in Necron language, but for some reason I could understand them.
"As you can see my lord, several sections of the tomb were flooded, causing most of our units and vehicles…"
Haratek started to speak and soon my mind started to wander. How long does he plan to keep talking? I took a quick look at the screen in front of me and saw something in the corner, it was Necron numbers indicating the number of pages in the report, if translated into human numbers they would look like…
Page 1/759…
I mentally sighed, this was going to be a long report, but for the sake of my survival I better pay attention.
On a piece of metal floating in the ocean an ork regained its consciousness and opened its eyes, the ork looked around confused not understanding what had happened, suddenly the ork's eyes widened in recognition, immediately the ork removed his choppa from his belt and used it as an oar.
Days passed until the ork reached an island, the ork's skin was red due to exposure and dehydrated due to lack of water, but the ork continued paddling until he reached a cave where sea water entered, paddling through the cave the ork reached a pier made of wood and metal, on this pier there were several ships made of scrap iron moored, one of them being much larger than the others.
The ork dragged himself along the pier until his strength ran out and he fell to the ground, the sound of footsteps approached the ork, when he looked up he saw two well-equipped orks looking at him, suddenly the ork on the ground was grabbed by the arms and dragged deeper into the cave.
"Yer iz in serious truble." One of the orks said.
"Yer came backk wifh no shipz and loot." Another ork said.
Eventually a light formed in the cave and the orks reached a large chamber full of orks wearing stereotypical pirate clothing, earrings in their ears, scarves wrapped around their heads, striped shirts, eye patches, hooks and stilts.
The orks were in the middle of a celebration, eating, drinking, betting teeth and fighting with each other, wooden and metal tables were scattered around the chamber, a makeshift bar was on the right side.
When the two orks trailing a third entered the chamber, all was silent.
"Bring him." A voice said from the other side of the chamber.
The orks crossed the party to the other side, where they passed a suspended stone walkway over sea water that entered the cave. There was something moving in the water, but it was not possible to see.
When crossing the catwalk, the orks were facing a wall of darkness, this darkness disappeared when a pipe was lit, the one who smoked that pipe was a large ork bigger than all the others, this ork was sitting in a large velvety wooden chair in red, around the chair were piles and piles of loot, diamonds, jewels and much more.
The ork wore a large pirate hat with white ruffles and the skull design, on the chin of the ork there was a white beard, but the beard moved by itself, it was not a beard, but a rare beard squig, the ork wore a large red coat with gold buttons, black pants and polished leather boots, on the ork's right arm was a black power klaw with five articulated fingers, a large golden skull with rubies for eyes adorned the top of the power klaw, the quality of the weapon revealing the wealth and power of this ork.
"Where iz ma loot?" The ork asked as he took the pipe out of his mouth, revealing a series of gold teeth and blew smoke in the face of the startled ork in front of him.
"CRAA! Where iz ma loot?" A second voice asked, on the shoulder of the ork sitting in the chair was a parrot squig.
"Well, boss…" The ork tried to explain.
"Where iz ma ship?" The big ork asked.
"Where iz ma ship?" The squig repeated.
"It sank." The ork responded nervously.
"What?! So duz dat mean ya lost ta a bunch uv wimpy 'umiez?"
"No boss, strange lights kame outta da wata an' sank da ship."
"You really 'pect me ta believe dat?! Ya lost ta a bunch uv 'umiez!"
"CRAA! A bunch uv 'umiez!" The squig repeated.
Quickly with a flick of his wrist, four of the power klaw's five fingers retracted and an opening appeared on the power klaw revealing a large hook, with a quick move the ork warboss ripped off his subordinate's head trapping it on his hook.
The warboss raised his head in front of his face and with his other hand removed the hat that was on the severed head and threw it to the orks who were in the party watching the events.
"Whoeva gets da hat will become da kaptain uv wun uv ma ships!" The warboss screamed.
Immediately all the orks in the cave started fighting over the hat.
"As for ya, ya will become food for ma little fish." The warboss said to the head caught in its hook, swinging its arm the warboss threw the head away.
"Food Time!" The warboss screamed.
Immediately a shadow formed in the water below the walkway and a creature jumped out devouring the ork's head, it was a great white squig.
"HaHaHa! May dis serve as a lesson ta all uv yer! No wun fails wit' 'da warboss Gol D. Loota." The warboss shouted to everyone while laughing.
