Chapter 661: IUD-Chapter 658 Two People in the Same Situation

At some point, the wind began to blow frequently across the grassy field, and it was as if the previous tension and oppressive atmosphere had never existed, returning a sense of tranquility to the area.

Arcueid had fully recovered, now sitting by the tree she had been pinned to earlier, hugging her knees.

Sunlight poured down from the sky, bathing the beautiful White Princess in its glow, making the scene look as perfect as a work of art.

Before long, Fang Li returned.

"Here."

He approached Arcueid, who was sitting under the tree and handed her a cold drink.

Arcueid raised her head, but her gaze didn't linger on the drink. Instead, she looked at Fang Li's face.

That face carried the same calm and casual expression that Arcueid had grown so familiar with over the past few days.

It was as if nothing had happened earlier; Fang Li's attitude remained as nonchalant and carefree as ever, doing as he pleased.

This actually made Arcueid a bit annoyed. With a hint of irritation, she snatched the drink from his hand, turned her head away, and refused to look at him.

She was acting like a child.

Fang Li could only smile and shake his head, then sat down beside her with his own cold drink.

"How do you feel?" Fang Li asked casually. "Anything strange?"

"...No," Arcueid replied, not looking at Fang Li but still answering honestly in a low voice. "I just feel so relaxed. I can't remember the last time I felt this light."

Hearing this, Fang Li quietly sipped his drink without saying anything.

Relaxed, huh?

It could indeed be described as a feeling of relief.

If one weren't a True Ancestor, it would be impossible to understand the torment of being constantly plagued by Vampiric Impulses.

The closest comparison Fang Li could think of was drug addiction.

He believed that the suffering Arcueid endured because of the Vampiric Impulses was no less than that of a drug addict.

And Arcueid had been enduring this torment for eight hundred years.

When you consider that, it's easy to understand why the True Ancestors would willingly use their immense power to suppress these Vampiric Impulses, even going so far as to sleep to escape them.

Even someone as powerful as Arcueid, who ranked among the strongest of the True Ancestors, had devoted nearly all her time to slumber, with only brief periods of wakefulness over the past eight hundred years.

So, if Fang Li couldn't understand that feeling, he wouldn't casually offer words of comfort.

Thus, Fang Li chose to remain silent.

But while Fang Li chose silence, Arcueid couldn't stay quiet.

"I didn't expect you to be able to kill the Vampiric Impulses inside me."

Arcueid turned her head and looked at Fang Li.

"I never thought that the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception could accomplish something like that."

No, Arcueid actually understood the principle behind the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception; she knew that all things have an end and that everything has its time to die.

If something can die, then those eyes can kill it.

But understanding the principle is one thing, and comprehending it is another.

The Vampiric Impulses, for example, are like the only flaw in the body of a True Ancestor, a disease that accompanies them throughout their life.

Could such a thing really be killed?

At least, Arcueid had never considered it.

Yet Fang Li had done it effortlessly.

"You can effortlessly use those eyes and naturally comprehend the death of all things. You can even kill a persistent affliction like the Vampiric Impulses. Calling you a monster really was an understatement," Arcueid said, staring intently into Fang Li's eyes. Her crimson gaze was more serious and earnest than ever before.

"If your eyes keep getting stronger, you might truly become a god one day."

The term "god" here didn't refer to Fang Li's existence but rather his ability. Just like the Magic God Balor from Celtic mythology, who could kill thousands of soldiers and countless Divine Spirits with a single glance, if Fang Li's Mystic Eyes continued to evolve, he might eventually reach that level.

"After all, your eyes are already very close to their original form," Arcueid said, continuing to watch Fang Li closely. "A human daring to possess the authority of a god— are you sure you can handle it?"

It seemed Arcueid had noticed the underlying danger.

Is it really okay? How could it be?

It was because the power of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception had been growing stronger with each record of death that Fang Li's soul was beginning to crack under the strain.

"I used to think I was special enough, but your uniqueness far surpasses mine," Arcueid advised him.

"So, if you don't want to die, it's best to use those eyes as little as possible."

This was advice from the True Ancestor Princess herself.

Unfortunately, Arcueid had no idea that Fang Li's understanding of the concept of death wasn't just because his Mystic Eyes were reading it— it was because his soul was automatically recording it.

As long as Fang Li kept traveling to different worlds and witnessing various phenomena, his soul would continue recording. The only way to stop it would be for Fang Li to confine himself to his personal quarters in the Main God's Dimension, going nowhere and seeing no one.

But in that case, his Exchange Points would be continuously deducted for staying in the Main God's Dimension. And once his points were depleted, there would only be one outcome for Fang Li: Obliteration.

In other words, no matter what, Fang Li couldn't escape death.

But this was something Arcueid also shared.

"Your situation isn't much better than mine, is it?" Fang Li finally turned his head to meet Arcueid's gaze.

"I assume you've noticed?" Fang Li said frankly. "The problem of your Vampiric Impulses hasn't been resolved."

In fact, Fang Li had understood this from the very beginning.

"If the Vampiric Impulses of the True Ancestors are like a disease, do you really think that killing this disease means you'll never get sick again?"

"That's absolutely impossible."

Fang Li's words caused Arcueid to lower her head, her expression gradually sinking into silence.

But as Fang Li had said, even though he had killed Arcueid's Vampiric Impulses this time, she would still experience them again in the future.

Vampiric Impulses are just a form of desire, not an ability.

Fang Li could kill them once, but does that mean Arcueid would never experience such desires again?

The answer was, of course, no.

"So, this time, I've merely treated your illness."

"But you'll still fall ill again."
