Chapter 96: Chapter 79: Resolute Standoff

In Narumi's workshop, located on the 6th floor of Noah, the air was filled with excitement and anticipation. The soft hum of machinery and magic devices echoed throughout the room as the deadline for the two disciples' homework approached. Today was the day to showcase their creations - robots that resembled animals with creative functions.

Flora and Dune were both eager and nervous as they prepared to unveil their animal robotic creations. Flora was the first to present her homework, her eyes gleaming with pride as she proudly displayed her cute kitten robot, a remarkable replica of Christina's beloved pet, Lavender.

Flora had poured her heart into replicating Lavender's appearance, from its soft white fur to the delicate light purple markings on its paws and the tip of its tail. The little kitten robot even emitted an adorable "Nyaa" sound when gently touched or when it sensed something interesting nearby, much like Lavender would do. As she activated the kitten robot, it gracefully moved around the table, making charming gestures and adorable "Nyaa" cries. Narumi and Dune couldn't help but smile in delight.

Dune eagerly asked Flora to let her touch the kitten robot, and when Flora nodded, Dune gently caressed it. In response, the kitten robot emitted a happy "Nyaa," eliciting a giggle from Flora. Narumi was thoroughly delighted with Flora's creation. "Well done, Flora! Both Christina and Lavender would be impressed with your creative robot," he praised with pride. "You've captured every detail perfectly, and the sound function is an adorable touch. Excellent work!"

Flora smiled with happiness, feeling a rush of pride at Narumi's praise. "Thank you, Narumi-shisou! I put a lot of love into making this cute kitten robot, and I'm truly glad you like it!" she said, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. Narumi couldn't help but affectionately stroke Flora's head gently, which made her giggle happily, "Ehehe!"

Next, it was Dune's turn to present her creation. She placed her spider robot on the table, its sleek black body and striking red patterns giving it an intimidating yet fascinating appearance. As Dune activated the robot, it moved with impressive realism, mimicking the gestures of a real spider with its eight legs.

"Scanning!" Dune activated the scanning function with a keyword sound, and its red eyes glowed with intensity. With precision and finesse, Dune explained how the robot could gather information from various objects and creatures, swiftly detecting hidden items or wounds even under clothing. She demonstrated the robot scanning the kitten robot, revealing its size, weight, and materials used in its creation.

Narumi was genuinely impressed with Dune's spider robot creation. "That's fantastic, Dune! Your spider robot is not only visually striking but also incredibly practical with its scanning function. This will be a valuable tool for various situations. Great job!" Narumi praised as he lovingly stroked Dune's head.

Dune beamed with pride at Narumi's praise. "Thank you, Narumi-shisou. I wanted to create a robot that could assist many people and make their tasks easier, especially in the fields of business and security. I'm really glad you like it," she said while adjusting her glasses, her eyes gleaming with determination.

As Narumi observed his two talented disciples, he couldn't help but feel immense pride in their growth and dedication. Both Flora and Dune had shown remarkable progress and creativity in their respective robot creations. He knew that they were destined for great things and that their contributions would benefit not only Noah but also many people in this world.

As the workshop session continued, Narumi engaged the two disciples in further discussions about their creations. He encouraged them to share their thought processes, the challenges they faced, and any ideas they might have for future improvements. The atmosphere was filled with collaboration and excitement as ideas flowed freely.

Amidst this happy master-disciple lesson time, a magic device on the wall displayed a virtual picture of a young maid. "Lord Narumi, it's an emergency! Her Highness Christina wants you to come to the bridge immediately," her voice filled with urgency as she gasped for breath, clearly having rushed to reach him.

Narumi entrusted his two disciples to work on further improvements themselves and quickly left the workshop. He asked the young maid for more details, but she seemed unsure as she had rushed to call Narumi immediately after receiving the urgent order. Nevertheless, she informed him that some adventurers had arrived at Noah with critical news. Concerned and determined to hear this news, Narumi swiftly made his way to the magic elevator and ascended to the bridge on the 20th floor.

Upon reaching the bridge, Narumi found his lover, Christina, standing with crossed arms, engaged in a heated argument with the two adventurers. Her voice carried a cold and harsh tone as she berated them, "You! Even though you declined Narumi invitation last time, now you have the audacity to ask us to lend you a Celestial Mech and fight alongside us? Don't speak so arrogantly! Know your place!"

"I... I just want to help you, Princess Christina," the male adventurer with red hair, known as the protagonist of this world, retorted with clenched fists. He felt a pang of sadness from the rejection, but his determination to assist was genuine, and he refused to give up.

Narumi hurriedly intervened, wrapping his arms around Christina from behind, aiming to soothe her. He whispered gently into her ear, "Christina, leave this to me. This is not the time for arguments. Let's prioritize what you need to do, okay?" Christina closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to calm herself, and replied, "Alright, Narumi. Take care of this... arrogant commoner." Her words held a hint of coldness as she glanced slightly at the male adventurer with red hair before turning away and making her way to the data analysis room to compile the information about the 10th colossal biomachine monster that the two adventurers had brought.

Narumi then smiled at the two adventurers and said, "I apologize for Christina's bad mood today. I'll take care of you instead. Do you want us to lend you a weapon like the Celestial Mech and fight the 10th colossal biomachine monster together?" He sought confirmation of their intentions.

The male adventurer with red hair nodded and replied, "Yes, this time, the colossal biomachine monster is not alone. It has countless children accompanying it, numbering in the several hundreds or possibly more. Fighting this battle together would be the best approach."

The female adventurer with brown hair bowed her head, her hair hiding her expression as she spoke with remorseful tones, "I apologize for his rudeness, but his desire to help is sincere. He truly wants to assist, even if it's just a little." Narumi gestured for her to raise her head and said softly, "It's alright. You don't need to apologize so much. While I don't condone his behavior when facing nobility or royalty in public places, at least here in front of me, it's acceptable."

"Thank you for your kindness, Goddess Apostle," the female adventurer with brown hair said, lifting her head with a relieved smile. Even though she knew Narumi was kind-hearted, she couldn't help but worry about angering him. Narumi continued calmly, "I appreciate your intentions, but I must decline." The male adventurer with red hair was taken aback and exclaimed, "Why? Wouldn't it be better to have more people who can fight?"

Narumi patiently explained his reasoning, "While having more pilots might seem advantageous, piloting a Celestial Mech is not the same as piloting the old model Celestial Armor. The advanced weaponry and support systems of the Celestial Mech are much more complex, as is the case with other units in Noah. They require extensive training and experience to operate efficiently. Our elite pilots work as a cohesive team, and each member must be well-versed in the intricacies of every battle formation and complicated strategic plan. Additionally, our units are specially customized for each pilot's optimal performance. Lending these advanced units to someone unfamiliar with them might not yield the desired results and could even pose risks."

Narumi reassured them, "You can trust in the exceptional fighting ability of our elite pilots and the full potential of Noah. However, if you're still concerned, I welcome you to stay on the bridge and observe our battle. You'll witness firsthand the efficiency and prowess of our skilled crew members and Noah's strength in protecting people and this world." After completing his explanation, Narumi proceeded to the meeting room, where all the team leaders were present, prepared to face the 10th colossal biomachine monster head-on. A fierce battle, destined to be recorded in every history book, was about to begin.
