Chapter 34: MY PURPOSE

I hear a voice calling faintly like the person talking is very far away then the voice suddenly becomes loud like the person is screaming right in my ear.

I gasp out loud and open my eyes to find myself in the restaurant we stopped at when we got to Renztead.

My clothing is wet from my sweat and tears are falling from my eyes like a river. I find myself touching the spot I was stabbed in the dream and crying expecting it to hurt.

"Hey, are you okay?"

"You were panting and crying in your sleep while clinging to your stomach and mumbling something."

Claire says looking at me with worry before handing me a handkerchief.

My heart that's thumping at the speed of a horse on run starts to slow down a little bit as I take in my new surroundings.

I collect the handkerchief from Claire and start wiping my face while trying to adjust my breathing.
